  1. Saddam Hussein and his execution should serve ample example for secular Muslims. If you rule Muslims with a system other than Sharia', expect a humiliating fate for both you and your supporters.

What will you do if Baashi has joined the extremists? You will childishly and foolishly threaten to report him to the Department of Homeland S.t.u.p.i.d so that he will be sent to Guantanamo?
  7. Originally posted by Jimcaale: It is sad you were part of costly avoidable war. It wasn't avoidable. This was a war already scripted by the West, to be executed by Ethiopia. The presence of US military in Ethiopia, Djibouti and North-Western Somalia isn't a coincidence. Contrary to denials, the West had a critical part in this war, providing intelligence, tactical, logistical, satellite imagery, iwm supports. Without the West's support, Ethiopia would not have prevailed. ICU's mistake; it fought honestly and gallantly a conventional war, expecting to be fought fairly. It should have taken into account the West's direct involvement. It should have from the start prepared for guerrilla war. It should have harnessed the lessons and experiences of other Islamic movements, such as the Iraqi insurgency, Hamas, Chechen insurgency, Hezbollah, Taliban, iwm. The ICU should only count on similar Islamic movements or brothers, not secular entities like Eritrea. It remains to be seen how events will unfold on part of the TFG and its warlords. The lessons from Iraq and (especially) Afghanistan indicate Somalia will not fare a better outcome; security and the plight of the average Somali can only worsen, and the warlords will continue their enterprise.
  8. Ethiopian rebels reportedly destroy 15 army vehicles in southeast The [rebel] Oga-den National Liberation Front's forces on 25 December launched two attacks on weyane [Ethiopian] forces and destroyed 11 military vehicles. During the 25 December attacks carried out at Leheloi and Shashabene [both names phonetic], Oga-den region [southeastern Ethiopia], 11 military vehicles were totally destroyed and over 500 soldiers, who were on the trucks were either killed or wounded, sources from the area noted. As it can be recalled, on 23 December ONLF forces carried out a surprise attack on Ethiopian convoy and destroyed four military vehicles, which were carrying troops and logistics. The sources said the ONLF forces attacked the convoy at Berasale [phonetic], Oga-den region, which was heading to Somalia. http://www.hornofafrica.de/english/2006_eng/12_dez_2006/dez27_onlf-attacking_eth.htm

  10. Originally posted by Caamir: Talban, have you forgotten the public protest in Kismayo, Merka, Barawe, and all these areas that used to be under the control of the ICU. Sir, stick to the unity of your irrelevant claim; most of Somalis do support their government's defensive action and the assistance lended by our neighbour, Ethiopia. The irrelevant claim isn't about the public protest in Kismayo, Merka, Barawe, iwm.
  11. Originally posted by Caamir: As a matter of fact, most of Somalis do support their government's defensive action and the assistance lended by our neighbour, Ethiopia. Was a poll taken stating how many Somalis support their government's defensive action and the assistance lended by our neighbour, Ethiopia? If not, it's absurd to make such an irrelevant claim.
  12. Originally posted by Somali_Friend: PM Meles Zenawi You don't like it, then we will get them eritreans out of that Taliban dress they are hiding in. PM Meles Zenawi Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.
  13. Originally posted by Somali_Friend: The best option is keep your house I keep my house we live as good neighbors. Is that too much to ask? That best option doesn't apply to the current situation. The Ethiopian regime crossed Somalia's border, violated Somalia's airspace, bombing, killing and slaughtering thousands innocent Somalis. Somalis will have to return the favor, and they will however long it takes, insha'Allah.
  14. The moral of the story: Secularism = treason, collaboration with the enemy, self interest, disregard with the wishes of the citizens, disregard with protecting the environment from dumping radioactive waste, iwm Sharia' = the opposite of secularism
  15. I am concerned about Ethiopian invaders spreading AIDS to Somalis.
  16. Originally posted by General Duke: what now new predictions? Regarding how military and political events will unfold in Somalia within the next 3 months, what are your predictions?
  17. Originally posted by Cindrella: Protesting is not going to do anything. I agree. When it comes to wars and invasions, protesting is a waste of time; it achieves nothing. Protesting is meant to give the impression of democracy, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, iwm. However, protesting is meant to change nothing. In so-called democratic countries, protesting is allowed because it doesn't threaten the ruling regime, whereas it's not allowed in non-democratic countries because it threatens the ruling regime.
  18. Interesting history. I thought all this time Menelik was from a royal family and inherited the throne from his royal (king, queen) relative (father, mother, brother). I also didn't know there was a Tigree king; I thought the royal family were exclusively Amhara. Thanks for the link.

  21. Originally posted by Jimcaale: Ironically the very thing that Ethiopia wanted to avoid - its own Somalis getting uppity, is now more likely to happen than ever. And the very thing the US wanted to avoid - al-Qa'eda having a power base in Somalia will happen for sure because other than Eritrea the ICU has no other possible allies. Indeed. Just as how the US is regretting its blunder in Iraq, Ethiopia will regret its adventure in Somalia, insha'Allah.

  23. Originally posted by Rahima: Is this Ethiopian a gaal? Rahima, Somali_Friend is an Orthodox Christian from Ethiopia, and works for the propaganda department of the Ethiopian regime. My initial analysis; Somali_Friend is 35-45 years old and suffers from a form of eye disease or disorder (no offense intended, this is about a physiology analysis I deduced from his writing style/signature). I recommend Somali_Friend to see an ophthalmologist to correct his glasses, and limit the amount of time he spends in front of the monitor.
