Because it was provided by the same intelligence source that claimed Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction. Therefore, they aren't "terrorists" but freedom fighters and mujahideens.

  4. Originally posted by Abu_Geeljire: Infact the terror that the west is so afraid of was perpetrated on muslims by these aforementioned groups....... I am not sure about that. Maybe, it's secular Muslims who perpetrated on Muslims the terror that the west is so afraid of.

The notion that Somalis are homogeneous, with one ethnicity and language is deeply flawed; Somalis have different ethnicities and languages. Nothing is wrong with a country having different ethnicities and languages; being of one ethnicity and language isn't a precursor for peace, harmony, stability, iwm.
  6. Labels or terms like "takfiiri", "khawaarijis", "Jihaadists/Al-Qaeda", "Ikhwaani/Islaax", "Qutubi", "Wahhabi", iwm are labels or terms strange to Muslims. Those labels or terms were invented by the West. All what secular Muslims know is how to mimic those labels or terms; they can't invent their own labels or terms, because the West only allows them to mimic what is invented for them.

  9. Another classic Islamophobic, Wahhabiphobic and Talibanophobic documentary.

  11. Too many theories by Muuse Yuusuf. He strikes me as an armchair analyst. The best Western field and armchair analysts failed to diagnose a cure for the Iraqi and Afghani insurgencies; it remains to be seen how Muuse's untested theories fare.

Can't you see the blood on their clothes, wall and road? Imagine if one of them was your own brother or cousin, and imagine a Jacaylbaro making fun of them!!!
  13. May those young men who lost their lives rest in peace. Aamiin.
  14. Originally posted by Allamagan: ..and how did you reach that the Syrian Abdulfattah John Jandali was a muslim? Some Muslims in the West change their names to get job not accessible to Muslims, to be "accepted", to not be associated with "terrorists", or for a host of other reasons. Some Arab Christians (Egypt, Syria, Lebanon) have Muslim names or names similar to Muslim names, like Samir. Steve's father could have been a Muslim, or not. I don't see what's the relevancy of the faith of his dad; Steve is a non-Muslim. His company makes huge profits, and it's probable part of the profits he makes (contributions to neocons/Israelis, neocon/Israeli shareholders or investors, iwm) go into killing Muslims; that's what is relevant.
  15. Originally posted by Khalaf: but to get back to the courts sxb they were clan based no? that makes them clannish. And their leaders were one subclan no? they chased out other warlords from different subclans but not theirs (white eyes) no? How come they did not diversify their leadership and have well known scholars from Puntland, Somaliland, Gedo regions or at least have their support  ..... No, the courts were not clan based, and their leaders were not one subclan. They chased out warlords (Yalaxoow, Qeybdiid, Hiraale, Caydiid, Dheere, iwm) from different subclans as well from their own subclans. They had and still have diverse leadership from Puntland, Somaliland, Gedo regions, iwm. Those diverse leadership from other regions might not be well known scholars, because the well known scholars have been arrested by the secular regimes of those regions and sold to Ethiopia and the US, while others are being tortured in jails/prisons of those regions. I am sure you have seen the video of the well known scholar from Somaliland who was being tortured by the secular regime of that region. Of course, you are entitled to hold a different viewpoint of the truth, which is understandable for that's what "democracy" or "freedom of speech" is about.
  16. Originally posted by Castro: I always thought the claim that some Somalis have more faith in clan than in Islam to be utterly absurd. Boy was I ever wrong. You aren't wrong. Surely, you can't suggest Muslims like Sheikh Dahir Aweys, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and hundreds thousands (if not millions) devout Somalis have more faith in clan than in Islam. The truth is, secular (including clanists since clanism is an extension of secularism) Somalis represent a minority in Somalia. Their ideology and what they represent exists because of outside forces. Without those forces, they would cease into existence.
  17. Originally posted by Castro: If he rejects this occupation, calls the Martial Law declaration illegal, he's essentially rejecting the puppet regime. Why then is he still the "Speaker of the Parliament?" On top of rejecting the occupation and calling the Martial Law declaration illegal, he along with 21 Somali MPs were expelled from Kenya. He's still the "Speaker of the Parliament", nominally, nothing more. Perhaps the TFG doesn't want to sack his status as the speaker and nominate a new speaker, otherwise it will do more damage to its already tattered legitimacy and image.
  18. Originally posted by Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar: Perhaps it isn't about shisheeyaha's fault, but our own badownimo iyo miyi mentality. I don't see what ridiculing miyi mentality got anything to do with the issue. Reer miyi have far less corrupt or violent mentality than reer magaal. These are people who primarily dedicate their energy and efforts into productivity or producing what's positive and fruitful for the general population. These are people who have not been corrupted by what magaal mentality and lifestyle offer. They are more principled, conservative and religious. If anything is to be faulted, it's magaal mentality.

  20. 1. Crazy “wadaads” running around killing ppl That's not true. The wadaads didn't run around killing people for no apparent reason or meaninglessly. If a killing occurred, it was justifiable, i.e. self-defense, jihad, Islamic sentence for a crime, violation, iwm. 2. knifing criminals in public If you are referring to the young guy who knifed his dad's killer; the young guy wasn't wadaad, and the knifing was justified (the killer knifed his dad). Islam calls for "an eye for an eye", although there's the option of blood money. It was only 1 documented public knifing; it is not a trend that occurred on a permanent or regular basis. 3. public floggings This is an appropriate and justified punishment. Islam sanctions it; there's no argument about it. 4. denying women basic freedoms Not true. Women were allowed to get education, engage in business, travel, voice their opinions, take part in rallies or protests, iwm. 5. and what not acting like god when they abused poor women (old man aweys has 4 wives a baby one too, “holy warriors” yeah my foot), and ummm were getting rich on the port money, took away jobs. Not true; wadaads do not act "like god", they do not abuse poor women and didn't get rich on the port money (the port was only opened few months ago). Islam allows a Muslim to marry up to 4; there's no argument about it. Muslims can marry young girls who had menstruation; Islam allows that. These kind of accusations are from a Western point of view; it doesn't reflect the Islamic point of view.

  22. Originally posted by Laba_Xiniinyood: Isn't this guy buried in Baydhabo or somewhere near it. I believe he is buried in Biyooley. Some of the people who make the annual siyaaro claim 7 siyaaro equals haj (subhanallah). It's worth to note this siyaaro bid'ah was introduced to Somalis by the colonialists. All those owliyo or dead sheikhs whom the people make siyaaro lived or died during the colonial times. If you know of an owliyo or sheikh who become owliyo in pre-colonial times, let me know. The purpose? To pacify Somalis, to make them submissive, and most important propagate to them the concept of fatalism (not resisting invasion/occupation, resigning to your fate, Muslims are meant to suffer and live miserable life while Gaalos are meant to prosper, iwm).
