Sure, the ICU's alternative is better, because it's based on Islam. For instance, the ICU encouraged Somalis to abolish the mistreatment of Somalis considered low caste or inferior; it encouraged to marry from them, among many other encouragements and solutions. The clan or secular alternative will ensure dehumanizing and mistreating those considered low caste or inferior.

    OSCAR MOMENT

I haven't seen the movie by Forest Whitaker, but I wouldn't recommend it for Muslims. For one thing, it's a revisionist movie that aims to disparage and defame Muslims in general, those in Uganda specifically. The son of the late marhum Idi Amin recently denounced the movie for dehumanizing his father. So, please boycott the movie if you are a moviegoer.

  4. Originally posted by Violet: But his inner circle is composed of people from different qabils, right? Not right. There are a few non inner-circles whom the clan president's security keep an eye. They are there to give the impression that the clan president or his clan government is inclusive.
  5. Originally posted by Violet: I don't get what you're asking. The "major" clans are the majority of the Somali population, thus they all get equal share in terms of seats. Is getting "equal share in terms of seats" something that's supposed to work? Is there's a precedent (pre-Barre era) that it worked?
  6. Originally posted by Violet: There's no census, so all the "major" clans were given an equal share and the "minority" clans were given half that. Who gave them "equal share"? On what basis?
  7. Originally posted by Violet: How'd you know? Are their qabils written on their foreheads? Logic dictates the clan president would only trust to meet with close kins and inner circles. The primary reason is purely for security.
  8. So, the TFG is to reconcile with "terrorists"? Whatever happened with the policy of not negotiating with "terrorists"?
  9. Originally posted by General Duke: The governemnt is based on 4.5 formula thus every clan/region is represented and not any have more say. What kind of absurd formula is that? The 0.5 signifies deficiency?
  10. Originally posted by General Duke: London, came out for the President, again nice picks Close kins and inner circles come out for the clan president. That's it.
  11. Originally posted by mwafrica: Meanwhile, what would you propose as the best way forward? The conflict at its current stage is a unique kind of conflict; one that cannot be solved with negotiations. The only way to solve the conflict is force. Which part would win is clear, though it would take time and sacrifice. One thing is clear; Ethiopia would deeply regret it got involved in invading and occupying Somalia.

  14. Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: I think we are talking about two Men here ,,,,,, not the all the warlords and Amhaaros ,,, If you associate with or hang out with a known criminal/killer, you will share his crime.
  15. Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: the other one killed thousands and even more by his own military ,,,,, You're incorrect. The clan president killed far more than the other one. Since the invasion of Somalia, thousands of innocent Somalis have been massacred by the TFG and Ethiopian occupiers. The makeup of the TFG include bloody warlords and thugs such as Caydiid, Hiraale, Qabydiid, Shaati-Gaduud, Qaanyare, Yalaxoow, Dheere, iwm who are responsible for the killing or death of hundreds thousands Somalis since the early 90's. Since the clan president heads those warlords and thugs, he shares their crimes, and therefore is responsible for the killing or death of hundreds thousands Somalis. after all innocent ppl were dying Under the rule of the warlords and thugs, innocent people dying was a daily occurrence. On other hand, under the rule of the ICU, innocent people dying become a rarity.
  16. Both tortured, killed and made life hard for wadaads. But, the clan president is worse, because his executive orders allowed the invasion & occupation of Somalia by Ethiopia, and the massacre of thousands innocent Somalis.
  17. Originally posted by Northerner: Taliban, i dont think what said can be done. There is no qualification on such issues. You give some credibility or weight to the TFG's farcical constitution.
  18. Originally posted by MKA Yoonis: I think I know the bespectacled man sitting at the forefront. Is he named Faisal? If so, I met him in Uganda.
  19. Originally posted by General Duke: Ubaahne, has a fatwa to boomb North Galkacyu and to celebrate the deaths of Mogadishu police officers and local leaders. You're against killing traitors, collaborators, iwm?
  20. Originally posted by SURAMBAYA: I don't think Somalis will or can solve their own problems. Thinking isn't the same as knowing or believing. There's doubt in thinking, which means you don't know or believe Somalis will or can solve their problems. Personally, I know Somalis can solve their problems, and this time they will solve it despite all odds including outside interferences.
  21. How can a clan president and a known war criminal be a hero?
  22. Originally posted by Captain Xalane: Asking whether a commander is a killer or not is absurd. On ther other hand, wrong killings are questionable and the colonel sure made no wrong killing. Asking whether the clan president is a killer isn't absurd. The clan president might not have personally killed, but he sure issued executive orders to kill many innocent people. Whether you like it or not, the clan president is a war criminal.

  24. Well, I did a little bit investigation at YouTube. I briefly saw Yusuf's 2006 Nobel Concert, in which semi-nude women were announcing Yusuf. It appears I haven't been following Yusuf's activities lately; the last I read about him was when he was denied entry to the US. I am deeply disappointed in Yusuf Islam's comeback to music, and vehemently deplore it.
