Originally posted by General Duke: Somalia is a member of the AU, hence forget the occupation nonsence, the AU can not occupy one of its own. Somalia lacks a legitimate government, since the TFG is a foreign government. Since the AU is aiding a foreign government and occupiers, it's an occupying entity.

Originally posted by Caamir: Why I am not surprised that you respect a murderer who is on the same caliber with Gen. Aideed? First, I either keep silent or say something positive about dead people, because they can't harm anyone. Second, this is to set the record straight; compared to the clan president, the late Gen. Aideed was a man of integrity.

It's the 5th of March, and yet, no HIV/AIDS infected Ugandan troops are in Somalia. Uganda Denies Its Troops Are in Somalia Uganda says there are no Ugandan soldiers in Somalia at this time, contrary to recent media reports. Meanwhile, an African Union delegation has reportedly arrived in Somalia's capital to pave the way for its peacekeeping force to come to the volatile country. Cathy Majtenyi reports for VOA from Nairobi. More... http://www.voanews.com/english/2007-03-05-voa25.cfm

Originally posted by AAliyah416: why would any one put their personal info at a public site and den complain abt privacy ??? Exactly. I think one of the main reasons why they post their personal info is 'cause it's the hype thing to do. To me and many others, the Islamic thing to do takes precedence.

Originally posted by Cara: The risk factors for suicide and "martyrdom operations" are probably the same: youth, pressure from others, lack of other options (or being led to believe that), etc. Strapping on a bomb and blowing yourself up in a city bus is NOT a rational military decision. The risk factors for suicide and "martyrdom operations" aren't the same. Those committing suicide come from all walks of life; the rich, middle class or the poor. Some commit suicide because of boredom. Some because of psychological pressure, while others do it because of material pressure (poverty, richness). Martyrdom operations occur because of inequality in strength, injustice, desperation out of inability to strike in kind, iwm. Those carrying out martyrdom operations do it because they have been denied (through sanctions, embargoes, iwm) the means and methods to carry out conventional operations. If they have access to tanks, helicopters, warplanes, gunships, iwm-- then, they would not carry out such operations. So, no, the risk factors aren't the same.

Originally posted by -Lily-: Taliban, Allah knows best, how can you be so certain? I thought we were not just referring to a select group of women but the idea that women can contribute to the teachings of Islam? And do you deny that they can? What you thought is incorrect. Haven't you read the report? Let me quote from it: the Moroccan government introduced women preachers - to promote a more liberal brand of Islam and to counter radicalism. I don't deny women can contribute to the teachings of Islam, however, this is about teaching a new sect or cult of Islam.

Originally posted by Ex-Xisbiga: An NGO conducted a public poll last year in the South (Central and Southern regions) and found 83% of the people surveyed supported an independent Republic of Somaliland. An NGO was able to conduct a poll in Somalia? Hahahaha.

Originally posted by -Lily-: For centuries we have had Muslim women teaching other Muslim women and at times men alike. However, those Muslim women used to teach Islam; what the new Mourchidats are teaching (or about to teach) is a new sect or cult of Islam.

There's suicide and there's martyrdom operation; two different concepts. One who commits suicide is one who kills him/herself because he/she can no longer cope with life's challenges and difficulties. Martyrdom operation is a military attack in which the attacker is expected to die.

One question to SOL males: 1. If the young woman is your close relative (i.e. sister), would you mind someone posting the video?

In other news, a genuine crack for Windows Vista has just been released by pirate group Pantheon, which allows a pirated, non-activated installation of Vista (Home Basic/Premium and Ultimate) to be properly activated and made fully-operational. Unlike cracks which have been floating around since Vista RTM was released in late November, this crack doesn’t simply get around product activation with beta activation files or timestop cracks - it actually makes use of the activation process. http://apcmag.com/5512/pirate_crack_vista_oem_activation

Originally posted by rudy: somalia needs a political solution like the one it had before the military take over!! its needs to go to that direction again. i dont see nobody talking about that reality...! Nobody is talking about that reality, 'cause people have been there and done it. The truth is, that reality was failure; it's what led to dictatorship. There was so much nepotism and corruption in that reality. It had no chance to succeed. Simply put, every secular system is bound to fail; give it 9 years, 21 years or a little bit more.

Originally posted by mystic: Did you saw the HIV/AIDS results? Or are you taking the word of a corrupted president. It is like believing YEY, when he says he is the president of Somalia. Indeed. Museveni cannot be expected to be unbiased if his troops are highly HIV/AIDS infected.

Originally posted by mystic: We need men and women who are voted and chosen because of their knowledge, experience and merits, not because of his clan or sub-clan. We have Somalis from all clans who are in dire need today, from north to south. We have no time to promote more clannish segregation. We need men and women who are ready to serve every Somali and have the interest of the nation in mind. The 4.5 formula is just feeding the clannish mentality the Somalis are already suffering from. Well said.

I have done my footwork, Ms. Neocon. I have searched search engines, major news sites and even major Somali sites for your claim-- alas, it's only a concoction of yours. In the other topic, I advised you about professionalism. This time, your claims have an issue with integrity, which I deem no advice is necessary,,,,,, ,,,,,, ,,,,,,

Originally posted by Socod_badne: Embrace Islam? Somalis embrace only one thing and that's their clan. Nothing can come between Somali and his clan. Incorrect. For the first time since the colonization of Somalia, Somalis embraced Islam thanks to the ICU. They have witnessed what Islam can offer them; dignity, honor, equality, security, trust, peace, brotherhood, iwm. Unfortunately, clanism is once again back, thanks to the clan president and his transitional foreign government.

Originally posted by Violet: Weren't the AU troops tested before they were deployed to Somalia? Or do you know something I don't know Mr.Seeflabood? Ms. Neocon, produce the article or report where it says they were tested.

Where are those who claim Israel or Jews never harmed Somalis? First, Israel was involved in the Ethio-Somali conflict of the late 70's. Then, it was instrumental in helping the TFG and Ethiopia against the ICU. And now, it's involved in questionable humanitarian operation(s). Originally posted by Taako Man: Qaadisiya and Shabelle. How about Geeskaafrika.com? Is it owned by the ICU? http://www.geeskaafrika.com/kenya_03mar07.htm
