I thought riyaale was from borame too without questioning anybody here. But then, i decided to do abit of research. Aaah the joys of google. Guess what. riyaale my friend is not from borame. he's from eithopia. He was contesting an election in Shiniile province of Ethiopia. When he failed that election with Melz party, he moved to Borame and subsequently became Somaliland Vice President, chosen by Egal with the only credentials of loyalty and yesmanship. oh dear. It makes complete sense It's amazing what 5 minutes of research can do.

you know what's so funny. for years how SL people used to talk about how siyad barre did this and that. Yet they have a siyad barre henchmen who killed alot of SLanders as president. Proof if ever was needed on the sheer scale of ********* of some people. And now he wants to hold on to power. He has learnt from his former master very well.

honestly i have no clue. Some say because burco is inhabited by mainly rival clans. Others say he's just another despot who has lost touch with his people. either he does'nt care or he does'nt know. his sons are here in england. his wife has lavish parties no doubt money from the treasury. if there is any sense of decency, these prideless yes men of riyaale should call him to account for his actions. But alas you can't buy dignity and class.

(Press Release): Somaliland Ministry Of Foreign Affairs
Somali Pirate replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
the realm of the weak and munafiqinimo. this so called foreign minister has the audacity of mocking eritrea while kissing eithopian *** at the same time. Oh it would be funny if it were not painful. -
duke, the tyrant is the 'president' of hargeysa. his supporters are prideless chums who will sell their souls to the highest bidder. Last time i went to burco it was a shit hole. And guess what it still looks like one today. riyaale has filled his belly with somaliland all the while saying to the poor day dreamers, ''we are going to get ihtiraf today!!walahhi we are. actually tomorrow. no the day after'' We substituted one dictator for another. The only difference is that siyad barre killed us with bullets.
-
elected by the people..lol the dude is a dictator. You won't admit it to yourself execpt when you are alone sleeping during the darkest part of the night. he is dictator, a theif who loots the meagre treasury and sells us government food aid to the people when it is supposed to be free.
-
if we somalis had any brains, they would induct the pirates as official coast guards. what the hell is puntland admin doing with all the money coming through from pirate ransoms? It's time we somalis used legitimate means of fighting of these european and asian fishing thieves of our shores. Ransoming and holding people for money is not the right way. The cause is just. execution is wrong.
-
but i thought riyaale was elected by the people. If the people don't like him then why don't mps impeach him? Riyaale is in power because he pays others to keep him in power. He has become just another dictator. Our issaq folk substituted one dictator for another. He has not even seen burco.

somalia needs law and order first. A state of normalcy. It needs a strong central government which can govern. It needs a military to keep the peace and navy to stop pirates and illegal fishing/toxic dumping from foreign entities. It needs the rule of law. Once that is achieved, then the country can organise elections and democracy can flourish with a capitalist system
-
mujahid, You sound like a person who has all 5 senses and yet are still blinded by the obvious truth. How's the standard of living in burco? Why are somalis drowning trying to get to yemen? Clannism has taken over your senses. You are living in your own dream world. Face the truth and see somaliland for what it is. Another poor tulo in a poor country.
-
[Dreaming mode on] bu bu but riyaale is our president. he is a benevolent leader. [dreaming mode off]
-
you guys are totally clueless. our president has not set foot in burco since when. our president does not follow the rule of law. cracking down on opposition and freedom of press. food aid coming from america which is supposed to be free is sold by riyaale's henchman. our president has lavished huge scale parties for his wife. He had his fill from the treasury. Inflation is up, there is no jobs, no standard of living and somalis are drowning in red sea trying to escape the harsh realities of life. sometimes you guys should wake up and stop drinking the kool aid. if you can't see riyaale for what he is then there is no hope for you guys. Then again, pride and qabeelinimo does that to some people

xaaji, it's not just puntland's fault it's everyone's fault.
-
che, the first step in reconciling lies in admitting one's own faults. every one contributed to the mess somalia is in. no one group is coming of this 18 year old catastrophe smelling of roses. It's time every region understood it. Right now everyone is accusing each other of doing this or that or it's there fault or that fault.Face it lads. It's everyone's fault. We are to be blamed. Truth be told. We all lost after 1991

As for Ilka-Jiir he actually arrested pirates, but they dont want you to know that. Puntland is a big state and these tears are those of those who lost touch with reality. duke, i can never fanthom in a million years how someone who betrayed somalia to eithopian occupation so that he can rule unhindered a legend. dukey just think about it. My father may he rest in peace was the commander of tank divisions in the war of 77.My uncle was part of the somali air force. What he and the rest of those brave somali soldiers will think of people like abdullahi yusuf and his supporters? Is that your definition of a legend? I won't bother going into abdullahi yusuf history forming militias to overthrow siad barre after the war. I don't think any of those somali fighters envisaged one day that their own country will be invaded by eithopia under the auspices of a somali president. duke a bit of self introspection goes along way
-
there is some truth to what the OP has said. abdullahi yusuf will go down as the first somali ever to particpate in treachery and treason against his own nation. And the links with the italian mafia are well known. There was united nations report where certain puntland warlords agreed to allow the mafia to dump toxic waste in return for money. so yes, puntland does have some skeletons under the closet. the sooner people accept their mistakes, the quicker we can reconcile

US forces rescue captive from Pirates in bloody showdown.

Originally posted by xiinfaniin: Piracy is a criminal activity that endangers the well being of Somalis in general and security and political stability of entire communities that escaped from the chaos in the south in particular. I can understand the emotional reaction to yesterday’s dramatic sniper kill of three young Somalis but the truth of the matter is that piracy is today what Mogadishu roadblocks were yesterday: an illustrious manifestation of a failed state that’s unable to control its boundaries. . That is not to deny the known root causes of piracy however. But the root cause argument would better made if we first acknowledge the criminality involved in piracy hijackings and detrimental consequence it may bring to poor Somalis in those regions. The solution is clear: enable stable regions guard Somali costs, and support tfg to stand up on its feet in Mogadishu so the center of the country can be rebuilt again. Lets elevate this discussion, guys. Agree or disagree the premise of that argument. best post in this thread. All that needs to be said. -

Originally posted by General Duke: ^^^lool. Adeer the Federal formula is the only realistic way to get Puntland & Somaliland on board. Meiji's confusion and anger at Puntland is just really funny. They cant secure an airport and a market and yet they can stop the oil deal 800 miles away. What power lad. duke, that thinking is wrong brother. the oil belongs to all somalis. not just puntlanders. this type of thinking is just another clan based mentality. the oil should go to the central government which will distribute the money to all somalis. that's how it is supposed to work -

Mogadishu: Heavy mortar exchanges start in capital

the factions oppose his government because they see him bending over to african troops rather than asking for somali legitamacy. It's better to seek the good will and protection of somali people rather than ask for afrcan troops. i bet you if he told amisom to get out tomorrow, the war will stop
