Originally posted by NGONGE: Fidel, Killing civilians is wrong and can not be excused away by the nature of the ‘struggle’, the type of people involved or the transgressions of the enemy. Some moral positions should never change, regardless of the situation. Thanks for the response. According to the Iraq Body Count website, the only entity that tracks death of civilians in Iraq, 25,915 civilians have been killed there. A non trivial percentage of that is directly from air bombing by coalition forces. That my friend is terrorism. It is sanctioned terrorism by a coalition wearing uniforms, speaking softly and carrying a big stick. And it is not morally justifiable. Same with the London bombings. But the two are morally equivalent.

Unfortunately, the death of that Brazilian dude will be classified as a case of "see what you made me do" and will be swept under the rug. Speaking of Wikipedia, here's Chomsky's take on terrorism. Some would disagree. I don't. In response to US declarations of a War on Terrorism in 1981 and 2001, Chomsky has argued that the major sources of international terrorism are the world's major powers, led by the United States. He uses a definition of terrorism from a U.S. Army manual, which describes it as, “the calculated use of violence or the threat of violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.†Thus he posits that terrorism is an objective description of certain actions, whether the agents are state or non-state. In relation to the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan he stated: "Wanton killing of innocent civilians is terrorism, not a war against terrorism." (9-11, p. 76) On the efficiency of terrorism: "One is the fact that terrorism works. It doesn't fail. It works. Violence usually works. That's world history. Secondly, it's a very serious analytic error to say, as is commonly done, that terrorism is the weapon of the weak. Like other means of violence, it's primarily a weapon of the strong, overwhelmingly, in fact. It is held to be a weapon of the weak because the strong also control the doctrinal systems and their terror doesn't count as terror. Now that's close to universal. I can't think of a historical exception, even the worst mass murderers view the world that way. So take the Nazis. They weren't carrying out terror in occupied Europe. They were protecting the local population from the terrorisms of the partisans. And like other resistance movements, there was terrorism. The Nazis were carrying out counter terror." Chomsky on terrorism (continued)

His innocence is of no consequence at the moment. Let's see how many more will be shot by the police to quench the british thirst for blood. I've seen the headlines of all London dailys and one of them even said "one down three to go". That's awesome. An eye for an eye is the only way to go. That whole turn the other cheek is for suckers! Get this show on the road already.

The above qualifies as a deluded left wing conspiracy theory. One that I cannot help but purchase, lock, stock and barrel.

The UK government is having a severe case of "daghar qabe dhulkaa udhaq dhaqaaqa." Whether Somalis were involved in these bombings or not, we will be suspects for we are a very visibly muslim community in the west.

Do you have the source for this?

Ngonge, I do remember not willing to further discuss this topic with you but the more I read your posts, the more I find them logical and well thought out. I'm not sure I disagree with you on everything. But I do have a couple of questions and I hope you'd be kind enough to answer them. If the bombings in London are related to Iraq, do you consider them a form of struggle? If suicide bombers attacking civilians (in London, Baghdad or NY) declare no religious affiliation (i.e. secular guerillas) but a genuine fight for liberation, would their actions be justified in any way? If you do respond, I know it won't of the tedious and simple variety I've come to be notorious for. Thanks!

Originally posted by Goonle: Its possible that maybe the men keep more of their traditional values and the women are looking for picket fences. Ok, now I see. This must be the tradition you referred to in an earlier post where women should be kept as barefoot child bearers at home. Dream on. Those days are over. You're so sh!t out of luck if you're waiting for them to return. The only person who will be barefoot is you when your shoes are worn out from hitting the pavement looking for such a woman. At any rate, best of luck!

Unfortunately, it is true that demand on the sistas' side is high as they find it difficult or unpopular to marry outside of their culture and race. However, the pool of qualified kinsmen as supply falls woefully short. I'll leave it to you to figure out who's to blame here.

Originally posted by Niciima: Fidel bro thanks for trying to make this more clearer for me but what still doesnt make any sense to me is what if I wanted to stay home and become a housewife or whatever it is you wanna call it why cant I get paid for that just like a maid? Oh you mean for your husband to pay you? Well, I dunno. I'll have to ask my wife how she feels about me cutting a check for her at the end of the week. Also its not really about wheather I could afford a maid or not because if I cant they still get paid by the government right? No. The government does not pay for maid service. If they did, I'd be the first one in line. so why cant I get paid instead and make things easier for me instead of having to go outside the house for work and come back in eight hours for more unpaid work? We're going a bit in circles here. You can go out to earn a living. You can also choose to stay home. If you do the latter, you will have "work" to do at home and you want to get paid for that? By who? Your husband? I think you should be paid.

It matters not if a person is an MIT PHD if they have the contempt you've shown for women. C'est tout.

Originally posted by Afromali: However, what I fail to UNDERSTAND, seriously is that, with so many Sisters in the Diaspora, why a young Farah will opt for this option. God have you seen the Beauties just floating around? That floating beauty has minimum entry level requirements that Goonle miserably fails to meet. Even if he is successful in implementing his Africa-to-America theory, and he wouldn't be the first to do so, it would fail eventually. It won't be long before the economic need of that desperate catelog bride is overcome. She will then quickly set out to leave Goonle in the dust that constantly surrounds him. See, the problem is not with who Goonle makes into a mate. The problem is Goonle himself. Oh, I so love bashing. Nothing else, except may be sky diving, gives me such a thrill.

Are you attempting to reconcile creationism with evolution? I'm sorry if I my question is too glib, but please, do elaborate. I often read about evolution as I find it to be a fascinating theory. I also believe it's true. Care to share? Thanks!

One of my favorite books is Understanding Power by Noam Chomsky. If you're interested in understanding the world as it is today, then read this book. It even has a segement on the US intervention in Somalia in 1993. What brought such an intervention about and why it ended so abruptly. It's definitely not for the faint of heart.

Oh and any xaji will figure it out for himself pretty quickly. xaji: Honey, come on to bed. I'm waiting. Zephyrine: Who the f&*k are you? And why are you in my bed? I found this on www.wrongdiagnosis.com It should come in handy: Forgetfulness: Forgetting things or loss of memory ability Introduction: Loss of memory is a common symptom, particular in the elderly. Memory loss may also be associated with concentration symptoms. Many people fear a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease but many other possibilities exist, including simply the normal deterioration of memory function with aging. Other possibilities include the side effects of various medications and other medical conditions such as depression, anxiety, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, certain brain conditions (e.g. stroke or brain tumors) and various types of dementia. Any memory-related symptoms need prompt professional medical advice to determine the correct diagnosis.

Originally posted by Niciima: To me the thing that makes no sense is how you can hire a maid to do the house chores for you and she gets paid but when you do it your self you dont get a cent. Why is that? Your doing the same if not more chores then the maid? This world does not make any sense. I see where you're coming from. You do agree that time is money, right? Using that as a premise, if a mother spends time with her child playing, reading or what have you, then that time is more valuable than the cost of doing house chores that could take forever. Professional maids have this down to a science. They're well equipped, well organized and well trained. Whereas a mother would have to do the work and keep an eye on the children, a maid would come in and basically lick the house clean in a couple of hours. You decide if your time is better spent doing what you want/like or cleaning toilets. Of course, if you can't afford the maid then the premise above doesn't really apply to you for your time and your money are not equivalent. In this case, your time is less valuable than your money. Hope that helps.
