    Funneral Costs

^ Indeed. As well, if the deceased had signed up as an organ donor, his or her body may be operated on to retrieve the donated organs. A small insurance policy may be purchased to cover the cost of a funeral and burial. It makes sense as those grieving shouldn't have to worry about costs when they've just lost a loved one. In fact, it is very convenient as funeral homes work with insurance companies much like auto repair shops to make it a seamless event. It is wise to plan this as death is not optional but guaranteed.
  2. ^ Ciid wanaagsan. Without getting defensive and emotional saaxib, substantiating an argument is never a bad thing. I hope and plan to do more of that myself. For example, you could argue the merits of a dictatorship vis-a-vis anarchy by stressing the rule of law and order of the former that lacks in the latter. A dictatorship (and there are many examples) may limit personal freedoms and frown upon political dissent but anarchy is a system where only the strongest can survive. In the case of Somalia, which is an example of both systems, you could highlight the effects of the dictatorship then and those of anarchy now. Dictatorship, as a form of governance, has been shown in history (insert examples here, and there are many) to cause short term and long term difficulties for the people. Similarly, one could argue anarchy may have short term difficulties but eventually may lead to a more representative system of governance. In any case, I knew you had ideas of your own to bring forth but I was saddened you decided to deprive us of your unique insight in the matter.
  3. The state of Israel and the misery of Palestinians coexist in perfect harmony. The causal relationship is what confuses most people. One could argue the state of Palestine has never really existed and when it is declared as one, it would be the first time. Zionism, a multi-phase ideology, has achieved many of its goals. The establishment of the homeland and the continued support once established. Making sure that world focus and opinion is in favor of the state of Israel through diplomacy, public relations and evocation of sympathy due to the once rampant anti-semitism in the world. What may have eluded the Palestinians, and Arabs in general, is striking the right balance between the use of force and the use of diplomacy. Too much of the former (in the past) and too little of the latter (in the present). Denying the existence of Israel is tantamount to an exercise in futility. Rejecting something does not make it go away. Instead, it makes dealing with it that much more difficult. And though, as Muslims, we are aware of the transgressions of the Jews in the Quran, it may be fair to say current muslims have caught up with the Jews in their transgressions. If they haven't, then it's only a matter of time. To expect Allah would give us an edge over them for past crimes is day dreaming. Hard as both sides try to make this conflict a theological one, it isn't, yet. Today, it's a practical matter involving resources (land and water) and geopolitics. The solution will not come from the heavens. That solution involves the proper use of all available means: diplomacy, public relations and most of all unity among those who are friends of the Palestinians. Until then, the misery and Israel will go hand in hand.
  4. Though I'm sure King Osman provides valuable service to the Somali community, I'm not so sure helping those who are caught chewing, transporting or smuggling Qaad is a good idea. It's bad enough the community suffers from their wasteful selfishness, now we have someone to get them out of trouble. I encourage anyone who knows a place where Qaad is sold to report it to their local police. Let these marathon chewers become Bubba's b!tch in jail for a few nights. It will make them come home right after work and raise their families. Enough already.

How is a dictatorship better than anarchy? Be careful when you assert things like that without evidence. The audience might (should) be tempted to dismiss your claim as swiftly as you made it.

  7. ^ Wonderful response Alle-ubaahne. Unfortunately, you're barking up the wrong tree here, saaxib. The Onion (source of the article) is a satirical web magazine and though some assertions made about animals in the article are factual, the jest of the argument is one of satire. It is fitting, however, that you're the only one who fell for Femme's trap. May be that's what she had in mind all along? These women!
  8. Though I normally would agree with Liibaan in his view above, it's likely the point of the thread is the overall health and well being of women. The details of which specific body part is not entirely relevant.
  9. Ciid wacan oo wanaagsan oo barakaaysan kuligeenba. I've been gone so long I even missed Alle-ubaahne. Enjoy the festive occasion y'all. It only comes once a year and who knows if we'll be around next year.
  10. ^ You have exactly 16 days before I return to cut your nuts off and feed them to you. Enjoy. Aeronwen, the queen of my SOL. You inspire me. Back to hibernation.
  11. Ramadan Kariim y'all. See you after Eid inshallah.

Indeed it is not out of context. There could be no other way that is more direct and honest, right to the point. I am not going to beat around the bush. I wish that maybe the sharp contrast will make it easy for you to see, and I pray that Allah will guide me and you to the truth, as I wan't good for myself and good for you my brother. There was no need to go into much of what you did for it's irrelevant to my words you quoted and the verse you used. To be sure, Muhammad Amriki, what did you understand my words to mean? What was the peace sign in response to? Which words of mine are at odds with the teachings of Islam? And how is the last accusation of yours relate to the quote with the peace sign? We both understand what the verse means. What mischief have I brought on earth that you know of? Don't be a seef la bood when it comes to matters of religion, saaxib. We have enough of them here, there and everywhere. If you have a clear and convincing argument of the applicability of that verse to my statement, present it. If not, don't worry about it for I will not hold you to it. And peace be to you too.
  15. ^ And just because you're paranoid does not mean they're not out to get you.
  16. ^ Wait your turn, brother, wait your turn. I'll get to you in due course.

Originally posted by Shams-ud-Din: Brother Castro, these verses are not out of context If they're not out of context, then what did the "brother" assume I meant by my words he quoted for him to find the verse applicable? Better yet, what did you assume I meant? If a hyprocite (or infidel or other nice labels) is what you or the brother wanted to give me, why then hide behind verses of the Quran? Just do it. Where does political correctness come into fighting the infidels and their collaborators? but your attitude as a believer in the true Lord of the worlds are below standard and somewhat out of context. Is this your standard? If not, then whose standard am I failing? Don't speak in tongues brother, let it all out so we can have a beneficial discussion. Your words are not fitting for a believer, so please be careful, because it is allowed for a Muslim to be silently indiferent, let along siding with, a disobedient transgressor who have rejected Allah and His signs. So you have abstained from dealing with and have denounced every "disobedient transgressor who have rejected Allah and His signs"? Brother, you must be having a hard time living, and enjoying, life among kufars and hypocrites in the land of kufars and hypocrites. Unless, of course, what you say on here is not what you really believe or practice. Before you start attacking us left and right, like a cornered cat, just remember who your real brothers are and who your real enemies are. As believers, we are your real brothers. Tolerance, my brother, is not something I'm ashamed of. My real enemies, brother, are those (of any faith) who are intolerant of other faiths and even non-believers. Islam illiteracy and needless isolation cause this intolerance and unfortunately, in the 21st century, it is extremely dangerous to have these narrow beliefs in an increasingly global village.

  22. Walaalo Nova, waan ku ducayni. The examples of these drop outs in the top ten richest people on earth is a little misleading. The term drop-out here in this context is used to sensationalize the issue. These people dropped out because they either had an extremely unique idea to pursue, as in the case of Bill Gates, or other profitable endeavors occupied their time. The implication is not that one can drop out, sit around claiming to be a drop out then make it to the top ten. These people worked harder than anyone who spent decades in school to make it where they are. You may be working on your brilliant and unique idea to get you there, I don't know. But from the way you write I have a suspicion (which may be wrong) that you should have stayed in school just a little longer. Best of luck to you. And do send me a postcard when you're rich and famous inshallah.

I use it to pay for things online. You register your checking account with your paypal account and they deduct it from your account. Just like a debit card. I've used it to send money to a friend, to buy phone cards and to pay for eBay purchases. It's very smooth and very convenient. Be careful though, as with anything that involves money, there's someone out to get you. I received a spam email a few weeks ago telling me I needed to log on to my PayPal account as someone was trying to break into and i needed to change my password. The link in the email actually took you to another site (server) that had the same login page as PayPal and if I'd entered my login credentials, they would have been stolen. I always look at the "location" on my browser to see where I'm at and where I'm going. I will not be redirected to another site unless I want to. Beware of URL redirection. Cheers.
