Few things (or people) make me proud to be a Somali. Togane is one of them. God bless him and his family. He is unduly harsh on his clan, however. A group of people numbering in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, the overwhelming majority of which is held hostage by killers. I do understand and appreciate his anger though. What a man. What courage.

^ I'll tell you how bad it is for me. I'd be driving on the freeway listening to the radio and hear something and want to Google it right away. Another addiction is wanting to put a SOL big grin on everything I write elsewhere, like email, text messages, etc.. Terrible addictions indeed.

^ Sorry to disappoint atheer. The subject matter was not nuanced enough to generate a meaningful debate, I believe. I also didn't want the message of the article to get lost in the cross fire. May be next time?

In the spirit of this topic, I am sorry to have taken your words to mean something other than that you intended. I am further sorry to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Finally, I am sorry that saying sorry, and meaning it, is so difficult for all of us. Cheers. P.S. Critica, you're off the hook till next Halloween.

Fair enough, good Xiin. I am sorry. I retract my unfunny musbaar comment.

^ Hey look, a musbaar. Where's my dubbe? I too can be cruel and opportunistic at times, good Xiin.

Originally posted by Paragon: I did so because you spoke of the existence 'woman-bashing' bandwagon. If that bandon exists, then I say it takes one to know another (fill the blank). I see that you insist on name calling and I will not indulge you. I will make a few notes on your speech above (which i believe adds insults to earlier injuries and not just to me): 1) woman bashing is real and it's not imagined. 2) at best your 'somali' quote was ambiguous and at worst it was demeaning. Otherwise, the lengths you've gone to explain yourself would not have been necessary. 3) i know exactly what dhicis means. Both meanings you mentioned, in fact. I did not take this to be miscarriage. For you to think that I did is the miscarriage indeed. 4) Naftu waxay ileedahay, your false accusations notwisthstanding, something else is bothering you about me. If you clear the air and bring it forth, may be we can have a productive discussion. Spinning is rather dishonest, asinine and diminishes the spirit of the discussion. Hadal waa margi atheer, pray tell, critca, where is the spin in what I asked? And I was untruthful, dishonest and asinine to show Paragon's words were easily misconstrued at best? Great charge indeed. And now that you're undead, stay this way.

Originally posted by Paragon: Castro, you are quick to portray yourself as the protector of those whom you yourself 'deem' infirm, I demand a sincere apology for that. You really don't have to placate every man that speaks against your opinion as 'women-basher' or some such nonsense. I think we got off on the wrong foot here. Let me tell you why I protested your words. You said: Ninkii guri ay gabari u madaxeeyso ku baarbaarey, walluu hubaanti yeeshaa saansaan dumareed , waa haduusan socodkooda yeelan . Tell me, atheer, if this does not reek of condescension to women. In the same breath, you uttered: Sorry Rag ma kala saarto , ee Castrow, hadalka yuusan kaa dhicisoobin sxb. Tell me again, atheer, who is often referred to as a 'dhicis' in our language? Further, what does the word mean? Is it a term of endearment? Now, don't be quick to make it a gender war please, because that is not useful. Fair enough. You can begin by illustrating to the female audience I so shamelessly 'appeal' to how admitting error by sincerely apologizing denigrates a man (or a woman) to a 'dhicis'?

^ Now I get it. I wasn't familiar with the song. Buns of steal? Rubbish.
-
^ Actually I never cheated by stealing others' work. I don't know what you're doing in school if you find this to be acceptable behavior.
-
^ Atheer I've not known you to speak rubbish so don't join the women-bashing bandwagon. Saying sorry is a must if one has made a mistake. If it is not said, it creates an environment where the wrong doer is acquitted of all charges. A terrible environment indeed. Saying sorry does not make a man 'soft'. Not saying sorry makes a man a 'prick'. Capisce, atheer?

^ You did not go there with the "naag" stuff.

^ I'd love to hear atheerkay Togane but the file is not working for me.

Originally posted by Kashanre: BTW the statement did not call for a response, hence the exclaimation mark. If however you deemed it in need of one, by all means go ahead. Here it goes. My Somalinimo is in question bacause: Somalinimo is great and Castro shows little to be worthy of it. Somalinimo is terrible and Castro seems to have risen above it. Dude, you're the one who dragged this cat out of the bag. Notice I locked you in with your own fallacy here. Kadabaalo saaxib.

^ Just pointing out the obvious saaxib. SOL is not being monitored by clandestine agencies in order to bring Somalia down.

^ Not at all. It's expected. Men are missing the sorry bone. We wouldn't have wars if they didn't. Callypso, that was hillarious. Truth and Reconciliation kulaha. Waa halkii Raganimo, sarajooga laysku cuni.

I'm waiting for it to go OTC. I've no problem with contraception. Avoiding pregnancy is not un-Islamic. It can't be. Plan be helps with that. Plan B is good.

^ It's going to the slave ship and you're the cargo.

^ You people want equality when in reality you're not equal to us. Ride a bike kulaha. War atheer get over it and get into the kitchen. Remove your slippers first.
-
^ I was thinking conservative muslims as well. Besides the dogmatic differences, it's surprising how similar the two groups are. Specially when it comes to women and sex.

Originally posted by General Duke: The clan names should be kept in articles, why run away from it. If the articles are academic for example they will have clan names and diagrams and even tribal or ethnic names like, Somali, Saho, Afar, Denakil, Oromo, Tigray and Ahmaric.. No need to delete such identifications. Where are these articles coming from? Are they legitimate sources of information? I'm not being facetious, I really do want to know. As for clan names, it's a no no. The very names cause some of us to foam at the mouth. When this entire generation has died off, say in 2070, we can use the names then for they will have become historical names and references. But until then, anyone who misspells my clan's name risks severe injury and/or death.

^ So if plan B is a contraceptive, then why would conservatives be against it? Medical professionals actually refer to it as "emergency" contraception. It prevents a pregnancy, it does not end it. Which should be kosher, no? Sadly, this may be another instance of a woman's alleged promiscuity being combatted. If that is the case, it would be ironic that those who cry murder over abortions would be the same ones who are fighting such a proven and preventative measure.
