  1. ^ Is it a legal enterprise? Does the brother have a well-founded fear of relatives hitting him up for shaxaad? Does he fear the IRS? If the answer is no to all of the above, I see no reason why the dude would hide his identity or his business endeavour. Unless you are pulling our leg.
  2. ^ On that scale, no, there is no difference. But morality aside, on the scale of physical beauty, which is the standard for modeling, there's a huge difference. That's all I was trying to point out. Of course, the lawfulness of the matter (modeling) in Islam makes the rest of the argument moot really.
  3. ^ Indeed good Ducaqabe. But what is faith if it can't stand scrutiny? Islam is remarkably consistent and questioning (even understanding) such things as the Big Bang and evolution should (must) serve to strengthen one's faith in it. If one is looking to reaffirm their faith, what better way to do it than question these things. SOL may not be the best arena for it but it's a start. It's a start to a deeper quest for knowledge. True Caqiida does not come easily saaxib. And little or no questioning is an invitation to disaster, in my opinion. Let me ask you this saaxib, how does one compromise his or her faith if one questions and discusses the Big Bang?

  5. ^ What is the moral of any discussion? It is to reach the most probable truth.

  7. Fathia, I was kidding, dear. I hope you're not offended for I meant no offence. Gold digging is bad regardless if a man or woman does it. As I said earlier, profiling someone who won the lottery would send the wrong message on hard work and enterperneurship. Not to mention it is a form of gambling and it is unlawful in Islam.
  8. ^ Not just any money dear, boat loads of it. Ahh. The south pacific.
  9. ^ Fathia, if this is true, you'll have to fight me for this dude. I can be a gold digger in a minute, dahlin. I wanna retire rich too.
  10. ^ If it was done overnight it's lottery or some other questionable manner. It's hardly an inspiration for an enterperneur. It's not a good idea to post his private information unless he himself wants it. I don't know what he'd tell us about his riches though if it was done by lottery. I mean he probably has no secret formula for picking the right numbers, does he? Ahura, sweetie, that's what lottery is: a dream. Unfortunately, for some, it becomes a nightmare while chasing it.
  11. Afromali, qaawan or not, she's no model. Iman qaawan, even at 85 years old and like you said, she's double xaax. This woman? I'd go for a naked squirrel just as soon.
  12. ^ There's gotta be one out there. I'm not talking about Farah and his comatose Internetshop or Jama and his hygiene-regulation defying restaurant. I wouldn't knock these guys, atheer. They may not be on their way to becoming millionaires but they work hard, make a comfortable living, and provide a service to the community. Like you, I'm interested to know if any mega-rich Somalis are out there. It sure would help some of us who are aspiring entrepreneurs.
  13. ^ Flip has insider information dear. Otherwise, he'd provide the statistical source to his "leading the pack" assertion.
  14. Ok. I'm normally politically correct but not today. That woman should not be called a model or be compared to Iman. She's not very attractive. That excludes her from being a model. Besides the last name (and looking a little like Bin Laden himself) and showing her a$$ to the camera, she's a normal person. She's no pin-up. And I know pin-ups.
  15. Emperor, dear, emperor. King is so soft, so British.
  16. Can we lease Somalia (or what remains of it) off to the Chinese? Something like the 99-year lease of Hong Kong to the British. Just look at how well Hong Kong turned out. Given the awesome military and economic power of the Chinese, the strategic and politically sensitive location of Somalia, this is a marriage made in heaven really. What say you guys? Would this work? We could benefit immensely from such a union. For one thing, the Chinese aren't religious in any sense so they wouldn't really care what we practice. If I were the TFG, I'd woo the Chinese into pumping money and a military presence into Somalia. Rebuild the infrastructure, eliminate the warlords, use the country and its vast land and shores for manufacturing (with an abundant, albeit illiterate, workforce) and everything would be hunky-dory. No?
  17. Aren't Geishas, essentially, glorified prostitutes? I never quite understood the fascination with Geishas. I guess a prostitute in my mind would wear less clothes.
  18. ^ Happy new year saaxib and don't be gone too long lest the tide turn and we're left talking watches and CPUs in your absence. It's kinda sad how some view your logical arguments as an attack on their faith. If anything, it should make one think and in the process, strengthen their faith. But what do I know?
  19. ^ Just enough to make us look, and feel, better.
  20. ^ The man has an endless supply of shitty ideas and thoughts. I warned him against holding his farts in many months ago. I guess he's still practicing that.
  21. Originally posted by ATLAS: The long and short of it economically deprived people having abortion guaranteed less ill provided for young offenders. I don't like the tone or message in your statement. I'll tell you this, however, abortion is a failure on many levels none of which are economic in nature. We all know that preventing people from having (legal or illegal) sex is out of the question. It is one of the basic needs of humans. Given that fact, we also know unprotected sex is the only way a woman can get pregnant (and/or contract an STD). Now, if a person is contemplating abortion then obviously religious morality is not preventing them from using one of the various forms of contraception? What then, pray tell, explains why so many abortions occur every day? It's mental and physical laziness. It's a failure to delay gratification. It's an inability (unwillingness?) to plan, and properly prepare, for the inevitable outcomes of unprotected sexual intercourse. Abortion is preventable and cannot be unavoidable. When it is considered as an option, failures of thought and deed have occured on many levels prior to that point. That's why it's a grave sin. That's why I don't support it, anymore.
  22. ^ Makes two of us. I usually shop, in the best of times, with a gun to my head. That whole money out of my wallet and into a cash-register is not me. As Sheh would say: boxing day my matako!
