  1. ^ Apathy is not synonymous with vileness saaxib. I'm guilty of apathy. I'm not guilty of that which Juma is guilty of. What we need is an exorcism of those who commit atrocious deeds and those who speak atrocious words.
  2. ^ A grim assessment indeed, good Paragon. And one that I disagree with, atheer. There are no holy Somalis, granted, but there many inncocent ones. Those who fear Allah and despite the insanity surrounding them have chosen not to engage in it, with thought and deed, in any way. I'm no saint but I do know right from wrong. And what I saw in that thread was wrong.
  3. ^ Paragon, atheer, this is no witch hunt. Juma's comments were the olympic gold medal winners in a place where obscenities and vileness (silver and bronze) are common. Re-read the thread. Yes, the admins could have just deleted it and moved on. It happens all the time. In this case, however, I'm sure the statements were so vulgar and the attitude with them so unrepentant and hostile that removing the words alone would not suffice as a deterrent to such behavior. I also take exception, atheer, to your statement about how Juma spoke aloud that which "most" Somalis say in private. Atheer, I don't know who you congregate with but I have never, ever, heard any Somali that I know (or know of) say such things. If I did, my reaction would have been exactly the same as that I showed towards Juma. I'd offer ample opportunity to reconsider and retract these statements. Failing to do so, I would ban them from my circle, permenantly. Finally, just because there's much boolshidh and vile statements routinely strewn in this section, that does not mean we would allow someone to come along and desensitize us even further and take away what little is left of our humanity, atheer.

I'm afraid, with all due respect SW, such a letter of apology is not due the Admins only but all Somalis. I personally demand a formal and public apology. And that is in addition to a promise never to engage in such behavior going forward.

  6. Originally posted by Ducaqabe: God knows, some of us were born under geed qurac. Nothing wrong with that at all. Some of us? Please. Speak for yourself atheer. I was born in the maternity ward of a 5 star hospital.
  7. ^ Don't be so sensitive dear Bishaaro. We're just playing around. Do post the pictures.
  8. ^ No. That was the Buulo Xuubay Marriott. A 5 star, 5 mudul, world class resort.

Somalidu waxay ku maah maahda, "ninkuu warankaa galo ayay weedhaa gashaa", which loosely translates to: he who is pierced by your spear will hear your words. So, persuasion and diplomacy are great but only after some a$$-whoopin' has occured at some point. We don't turn the other cheek atheer, you're thinking of another religion here.

  11. Yeniceri, is the purpose of using such a term not to inflict pain on someone? I mean, come on, you're not just using that cause you know how to spell it, are you?
  12. ^ Too bad you would use a term such as [*edited*] on your own brethren even if you disagree with them. We're all bloody [*edited*] unless you're one of those who held a gun at the [*edited*]. Either way it's disgusting. Shame on you Yeniceri, shame on you. ________________ Edited that term you qouted. [ January 19, 2006, 01:39: Message edited by: Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar ]
  13. ^ Well said Caamir. The west will insist this map is fake. The Chinese know they were there first. What they also know is that, soon enough, the land they came upon in 1421 as mere tourists, they will come to again as conquerors in 2021 and civilize the "savages" living there now.
  14. ^ Even more, I chatted with Juma on IM shortly after the incident. His rejection of any possibility that what he said was devestating blew me away. The line must be drawn somewhere. It's too bad how that particular event transpired. I suppose amnesty is not a bad thing but truth and reconciliation must occur first. Otherwise, it is meaningless, good JB.
  15. ^ Come on guys, if you're gonna sing the colonial tune, you might as well learn the lyrics. Here they are. One, two, uh one, two, three, four: God save our gracious Queen! Long live our noble Queen! God save the Queen! Send her victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over us, God save the Queen. Thy choicest gifts in store On her be pleased to pour, Long may she reign. May she defend our laws, And give us ever cause, To sing with heart and voice, God save the Queen.
  16. ^ I believe Jumatatu was banned not because of his "voice of dissent" but his vulgar and indecent referal to attrocities that occured in Somalia in the past 15 years. Specifically, his references to rapes and murders of innocent people. That's why he was banned. In addition, he was given ample opportunity to retract his universally offensive statements but he was adamant he'd done nothing wrong. With that insistence, the administration of the site, I suspect, decided his presence was neither compliant with the rules of SOL nor conducive to its goals. Don't be paranoid good Yeniceri. There's no systemic anything on here but a tirade of disillusioned and disinformed opinions.

Time to dig ourselves out of this $hithole of infamy we're in. I have an idea. Instead of focusing on grandiose acts such as the bombing of the world trade center and the London subways, use these resources to topple Mubarak, Musharaf and the kingdom in Saudi. As well, bring down the little emirates, Kuwait and anyone showing even a remote alliance with the west. Open multiple fronts right in our own backyards. Draw the enemy in. Disrupt oil production in multiple areas. Give the repressed populations in these countries (counting in the hundrends of millions) an opportunity to take matters in their own hands. What's the worst thing that could happen? Tactical nuclear weapons will rain on us? Bring it on. Let the mother of all battles begin instead of this slow wars of attrition that eventually bring death with knees on the ground. How about that good Kashafa?
  18. ^ Rightly said. I too am very skeptical of a two-state solution. It's just not feasible the way Israelis have built settlements just about everywhere. Make it one state, out-breed the Israelis and vote them out using "democracy". There's a lot to be said for the dignity and perseverence of the Palestinian people. Too bad the enemy is strong and their friends are weak and divided. A recipe for despair indeed.

^ Nothing says I'm in love more than flirting with every other woman around. Read the quote in my signature.

^ Probably not. But remember, in Xiintown, and everywhere else, being suave beats being good looking.
  21. ^ I'm sure you're on Priceline booking that ticket right now.

^ Though I've never met JB, I have this mental image of him being the most suave and smooth talking man (gigolo?) any woman can meet. And in many languages to boot. Dangerous, he is but kind as well. And now that he put out this kind of prose, I'd put the female Solers on notice for this kisses-breathing dragon.
  23. Chechnya has lost so many men to war that survivors should be legally allowed to take several wives, acting Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov has said. Speaking on Russian radio, the pro-Moscow leader said this was "necessary for Chechnya because we have war - we have more women than men". He was backed by Russian parliamentary deputy speaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky. Russian law restricts citizens to one marriage, but Islamic custom allows a man to take up to four wives. 'No interference' Mr Kadyrov told Ekho Moskvy radio that women in the Russian republic outnumbered men by 10%, and that a man should be able to choose how many wives he had without the state getting involved. "Every man decides for himself how he should live. He is the boss, he decides, I am sure that his personal life will not be interfered with," he said. Mr Zhirinovsky, who is the leader of the ultra-nationalist Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), said polygamy should be applied across Russia "because we have 10 million unmarried women". He told the state-owned Itar-Tass news agency that he would introduce an amendment in the spring parliamentary session. Source Is this not what Allah intended all along? I'm sure China would love to have some of that surplus of women.
  24. ^ I see. I was careful not to make it a big deal and only called it pregnant. I'm sure there's at least 2 ways to take that statement.
