  1. ^ Who you callin a shameless oday? It's shameful, not shameless!
  2. Originally posted by Amelia: I'm just curious, if the clock strikes mid-nite b4 oday-charming shows up, will you be sailing solo tomorrow Ahura ? Nah, she'll be singing the Omega male here I come tune. Ahura's always got backup.
  3. ^ I'm messing with you. Can you tell?
  4. ^ I too feel bad. Miskiina Ahura, nabsi baa helay. Originally posted by sheherazade: The silent treatment, ain't it a bij. You should know.
  5. ^ You left yourself unprotected there. I was just seizing the opportunity.
  6. Originally posted by Baashi: What would happen if media drives home the image that Islam is not compatible with democracy and it is evil religion huh? And that has not happened already? The media has been greatly assisted by violent (often misscalculated and myopic) reactions by Muslims to legitimate grievances. From the flushing of the Quran to the cartoons. The media couldn't make up some of the things we do to our cause. Fascism and anti-immigrant bias is in the rise in Europe and the right-wing Danes is in line with this feelings. True. The worst thing that can happen to Muslims is when neocons of European flavor seize power. And that's not the case already? Country after country in western Europe voted in a "Conservative" (right-wing) government in the past few years. France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, UK, Norway, Austria and others. Though it may seem the shift is rooted in economic difficulties facing these countries, anti-immigrant sentiment is front and center in many of the campaigns. It's water under the bridge already, atheer. He ignores the fact that Muslims suffered so much at the hands of Western powers. The ideal reaction he would like to see from his fellow Muslims is something akin to that of enslaved Blacks and that of poor American natives. Atheer Baashi, while you cry me a river ( ), explain what you mean by this.

  8. ^ She's so past the alpha-male now on her way to the omega-male.
  9. Cinderella be all dressed up and nowhere to go. And you can't make us leave this thread (or any other one for that matter).
  10. ^ Ok. Emotional? Yes. Unreasonable? I don't think so. But good Baashi will say I wouldn't know the difference.
  11. ^ Well, in that case, I'm extending my sympathy and commiserations to you.
  12. Originally posted by Ahura: where's NGONGE ? Why hasn't he answered my call? Doesn't he want to be my Valentine? That's the problem with alpha-males dear. Very high demand. You're just gonna have to settle for a lower-ranking male as a valentine. The odds of getting one of those are much higher.
  13. Originally posted by Baashi: As apologists do, Bashir downplays the significance of the Danes’ plunder and exaggerates the negative reaction of the offended party....... All I see in this essay is a man who is trying very hard in order to exonerate right-wing Danes and their European buddies from any wrong doing. Not only he excuses their blunder but he also asks the offended party to turn the other cheek for more smacking. Show me where he does this atheer. And sometimes, good Baashi, the messenger is someone we don't like very much and we tend to throw the baby out with the bath water. Goth summed this up very nicely with appropriate historical references and it is he whom you owe xaal. I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with. Though much greater in number, Muslims are as weak today as the early days of Islam. If not with dialogue and/or diplomatic, economical, political or legal pressure, turning the cheek is not one of many options, it's the only option. What else could Muslims do? Invade Northern Europe? Gone are the days, atheer, when Muslims could mobilize large formidable armies when one woman was raped. Goth is not being an apologist, good Baashi, he's being a realist.
  14. ^ And here I was thinking you were lost to the matrimonial bliss movement. I'd love to hear what you (and others) have to say on this. These are tumultuous times indeed. To merely survive them is woefully inadequate. Good topic ya sheikh Nur.
  15. Originally posted by Ahura: What better way to get my NGONGE back from the Gobi desert than to appeal to his vanity? Oh yes...adulation would definitely work. Adulation? As in we're not worthy? That might work but it will take time. Here's a sure fire way to have him all over you within hours: Misconstrue something he wrote by responding with a comment that is off by 135°. Right after he calls you obtuse, he'll show you, with death inducing detail, how far off you are. Who cares though, you just want his company, right? With all the abuse and all. The man is not yet to be senile, he already is. Not to mention bitter, sardonic and forever mordant. Yeah, I'm playa-hatin'. You got a problem? Ahura, how could you?
  16. Surprisingly, with the deck fully stacked against them and the educational systems indifferent, racist or both; the homes dysfuntional, broken or non-existent, many Somalis do study and manage to achieve something with that education. All is not lost.
  17. Originally posted by General Duke: ^^ No your earlier comment was funny, not the comment of the brother Yancir. I see. Saaxib, frustration is rising an all fronts. Other than inside my own home, everything else is doom and gloom. The world is not a good place.
  18. ^ What's so funny good General? I've never seen Yeniceri this lucid. His obvious frustration should be a source of reflection not ridicule.
  19. ^ The diaspora is suffering from donor fatigue. Specially after undisclosed amounts were raised for the defence fund of a self-confessed child molester.
  20. And the investigation into this "unfortunate event" will conclude there's not enough evidence to charge or convict anyone of any wrongdoing. The soldiers were under pressure of combat and felt their lives were in danger. The investigation will also conclude they used appropriate force including but not limited to kicking unarmed children in the chest and groin. The media will then say these soldiers are in a hostile environment and they know not who's friend or foe. Such environments are not conducive to good mental health and they (the soldiers) are exhibiting signs of pyschological distress shown by Israeli soldiers when confronted by similar rock throwing gangs of Arab teenagers. So where are the bloody demonstrations over this?
  21. ^ I'd be interested to see your response. Originally posted by sheherazade: Indeed I have come to this conclusion- to keep silent. The discussion revolving around Islam and Muslims has become buuq for me. EVERYBODY'S A CRITIC. If "everybody's a critic", good Sheh, that makes you one too. What's the point of being a silent critic? That's a contradiction in terms, no? Is this also why our resident sheikh Nur avoids many volatile, but serious, issues and focuses, instead, on matrimonial bliss, Xalimo and Faarax hook up strategies and some such popular but trivial nonsense? No offence intended to Nur. I'm just curious. NGONGE, I've decided not discuss the cartoon row any more. If it makes you feel better, with the exception of a point or two, I agree with the bulk of your assessment.
  22. Hopefully the AU will recognize the rest of Somalia as well. In 60 years or so.
