I disagree, because when that fire broke out in the building complex next to us 2 weeks ago (level 5--highest level---some suicidal maniac set himself on fire), I freaked out & lost my composure. All very helpful tips. here's what I do: *read the Quran *read the Seerah *listen to lectures by the knowledgable on my IPod. *attend conferences/workshops at least once a month....ok living here, it's hard to do thathere ---large muslim community very little activity *visit Islamic blogs/websites. *soon to come: go back to memorizing the Quran.

Well I missed the convention this year...except for the last session with Sh.Zaid Shakir....pleasantly suprised that he sang for us!!! (a second time for us during the retreat) However I did attend the retreat What a year!!!! More attendees...and a great time with my girls Haneefah and Ilham (ok girls no more changing screen names, even I get confused who's who sometimes) I noticed I write less and less each time I visit here..what's up with that??? Anyway, missing the convention was Ok with me this year because the retreat made it all worth it! I got to shop a bit, made new friends, saw some familiar faces! My mind is really blank right now, I'd like to hear more people's thoughts on the retreat/RIS/concert. Ma'asalaama.
