  10. Where are the pics u took of the beach near the airport? waiting ......
  11. Ranya, do u know the Shucla Mall? I remember goin to a kiddy party(age 4 or 5) and my sister falling on one big empty pool they had inside. Masaakiiin.
  12. Those Micheal Jackson videos were something else. I remember them soo well......I secretly wished to dance just like him. LOL. My first exposure to the king of pop... What I remember most were those Charlie Chaplin movies...... my grandfather couldn't get a decent night's sleep b'coz of our loud laughter....poor soul.
  13. Congratz girls. I love these 2 sisters, it was about time SOL appointed a woman mod....who expected 2!!! Haye hee, get to work. We gotta scrub the grafitti off the walls, there's much work ahead of you all. Good luck.
  14. Born: Khobar, Saudia Arabia.( YeY, I aint alone)! FlyingStill, do u speak Arabic? I don't. Raised: Somalia(few yrs)& Canada.
  15. Maskiin Kaafi, its orite sweety....we all get scared for the first time. I was tricked in the 7th grade, and became hooked ever since. Now remind me which one Millenium ride was? Been there 2 yrs ago. I've graduated from Wonderland rollercoasters..infact it bores me if I ride them more than once. Honest! Kaafi, I wanna try bunchee jumping.....or better yet sky diving! Its part of my to-do list b4 death.
  16. Modesty, Nafisa, and Barwaaqo have all voiced my opinion on this issue. Khayr, emotion plays a huge role in one's life. Islam never told us to ignore our feelings.....ofcourse we're suppose to rely on Allah to help us sort out the confusion and doubts in life. "However, I believe you are very young. I have a sister your age, and although girls mature faster than boys, I don't believe a 15-year-old girl can handle the complexities of an adult relationship and marriage" My thoughts exactly!! I also have a 15yrOld sister ...can't imagine it! The sisters have given you really valuable advice here and don't forget to pray to Allah on this matter. Don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe, I pray that Allah gives you the strength to get through this (its in you!). Good luck abaayo.

    Abortion?

^ these kids will keep on doing what they are doing unless the necessary community leaders decide to have programs for youth to learn about sex, how to practice abstinance, provide centers for young mothers and educate them about AIDS!!!! Good point. ImperialLady: Its true that some adults will inevitably practice premarital sex, but we're talking about kids here. You haven't clarified why you're pro-choice? Samurai: Insha Allah I'll do my part to help mentor young girls in the near future. Brothers, also step up to the plate and help those young confused boys who are leading the path of self-destruction ie. drugs, sex, and crime. Its our problem and we ought to do something about it ASAP.
  19. lol opinionated. you better believe ninyaaban she'd do it.
  20. Hoodo..Yeah I think if they did it with class it would be so much better. Plus, there aint nothing artistic about it. I think belly dancing or Arabic style dancing is more interesting b'coz u can work with ur arms, hips and legs...as oppose to Soomali niikis which only concentrates on one part of the body. Also, Indian dance is pretty cool. I picked up on them thanks to friends. Anyway....I would rate my self.....aaaah I rather keep it a secret Sisters if you're interested pm moi, I'll see if you can get into my class with a discount.
  21. Warning: If you haven't seen it..u might not want to read my review. My thoughts: It was a typical macho-flick. I can understand why it was nominated for best picture, boy haven't they depicted the city so realistically or what. The movie was too violent for me, and the story dragged for what seemed like 6 hours. Mr.Daylewis made me nervous through out the whole movie, never knowing what body part he might next chop off. Opening scene, wicked..though I was grossed out! Last battle...I was disappointed! They've managed to get in some historical facts to make it up..but overall I was expecting another equally good fight scene. I wasn't pleased! One more thing, it reminded me of Far and Away.....with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.
  22. What I do: Read Suratu Naas, Falaq, and Iklaas X 3 I believe its recommended by the Prophet(SAW), can't remember the hadith...so if any1 can help, feel free. Trust me you will sleep better Also about your nightmare, don't speak of it. When u wake up, turn to your left and say Acuudibilaah, 3 times I believe. Hope that helped.
  23. Hey Luv, thanks!!! Besides you didnt' change ur avator which helps. I'm just afraid that if I change my name, some1 will snatch it. Copy-cats are lurking about....
  24. Latiif, there was an Islamic conference in Chicago and U didn't say anything. Dont' know much about Nation of Islam except for few historical facts. My first contact with a NOI was a young Hispanic sister in Toronto. She was then recently converted and was heading to Chicago to be with her arranged husband who she's never seen    I didn't know her long enough to ask detailed q's of her beliefs. Latiif, he was white? I didn't know they converted whites...I can't help think about their famous qoute " blue-eyed devil", interesting walaahi. Btw, isn't amazing meeting and conversing with converts. Masha Allah, I learned that a former co-worker converted about 2 weeks ago, it made my week. I can't keep up with the converts on my own campus, what can I say...wow!
