  1. Salaan... "When I am in the U.S. no one knows me, respects me, or calls me professor. Here I get all that, and I am helping my country," said California-trained agriculturalist Hussein Iman . "There are risks but death is everywhere. Some of my friends went to Canada: They died there. Some died in the ocean between here and Yemen. Some went to Libya and died in the desert. Some were killed in Nairobi." Heey, that is my brother-in-law. I see he likes to be called professor. I ain't gonna call him that. He is always Xuseen Macalin Iimaan to me. Most warlords are only vaguely aware of its existence, and the university's president, Saudi-trained historian Ali Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar , says that isn't a bad thing. "If some of the warlords knew about us they could create problems," he said. This guy is very educated man. At one time I was with them, they were having a meeting with this gaal, and that Cali Sheekh Axmed guy was speaking to the gaal in Soomaali on his face. The gaal guy was nodding, as though understanding the Soomaali language. He could have easily spoken in English, but he chose Soomaali, which tells us how he values his own mother's tongue. And nice article there. Dankis for sharing, kaaba. _______________ Macsalaama.

  3. Salaan... The wanna-be folks of Salman Rushdie are popping up from every corner and trying too hard to emulate him. Some are going as far away ahead of him, thus too hard trying to have their 15-minutes of fame. Such people is Irshad Manji, a Canadian Ismaciili "Muslim." Recently there was an uproar in the Muslim community of Canada, because her book published in Canada by this so-called outspoken lesbian "Muslim," who calls herself a "moderate" and in her book tries too hard to discredit every fundamental creed of Islam, calls her shots against Islam. A self-confessed admirer of Israel and its terror against Falastiin people, tries to teach us--Muslims--about virtues of Islam. By questioning the fundamental, deep-rooted principles of Islam, including the Quraan's divineness to our Prophet's actions, her teaching has no beneficial and is futile, including her lesbianess Having the drums of the Canada's mainstream media at her side, she maximized by going far to declare she is going to receive death threats. O' Ayatullah, where art thou???!! Enjoy your 15-minute of fame bashing Islam, marax yaheey. ________________ Macsalaama.

  10. Salaan... Well, I am in a bit shiix with this, but anyway waa idiin sheega. In about at the age of nine-years-old, I and a group of my ciyaal kuni kuni happened to be running in this very dark, very narrow luuq in one night. At that same time, a girl came on the jiiro from the other side. Now us the ciyaal and her are facing one another. Kan noogu horeeye asagaa ugu dhib badnaa, and with his evil-conscience, he grabbed the lady's right gantaal   , as soon as he did it, kii kusii xigay aa ku ciliye because we were in saf, and in five seconds, we had all realized that we all grabbed that piece of gantaal and ran forward. Oooh, maaaaaaaaan. Even though we couldn't see her directly and she didn't either, but she was shouting and yelling maroodi camal, "Waryaada, waryaada, ciyaal suuqiyiiin waaxidiin..." for the each grab we did. Ilaahey hanoo danbi dhaafo, aamiin and because it wasn't really our darings and intentional for that we didn't really pre-planned; if it wasn't kii noogu horeeyi oona noo bilaabay, wasqaankaas inkaar qabaha eh, waxaas maba dhici laheen. For to those who couldn't figure out what gantaalo are yet, gabdhaha shafkooda waxa ku yaalo waaye. _________________ Macsalaama.

  17. Salaan... I think NFD might have been a part of Soomaaliya had it not been Soomaalis who in the 1950 decided to have the Talyaani back to rule the southern part of the country, albeit being under the UN's trustee. In that time, the British colonialists wanted to annex and rule the southern part in that last ten years of UN trusteeship. Soomaalis chose the Talyaani. The British got mad. And punished us by rewarding that Soomaali territory to Kenya. Even though right before Kenya became a sovereign country, British people wanted to give NFDers a referendum, but they cancelled it in the last minute when it became apparently the overwhelming majority would vote to be part of newly created Soomaali Republic. British folks betrayed our brothers and sisters by placing them under the authority of Kenyaati--dad ay isku dhaqan, luuqad iyo diinba aheen. Back to current situation now, one thing that is too good to be true is that Reer NFD are over-too-humble, in other words too maskiin. Being humble is great, however in this case, it is bitter. Kenyaati won't allow Reer NFD to secede peacefully or in referendum, that won't happen. One clear thing is an effective guerilla war that might surely work or at least bring Kikuyu-dominated Kenyaati politics to its knees. I heard there had been a guerilla war before, a rather one like hit-and-run, which the Kenyans called them "shufta." The ultimate realization that will work for sure as it mostly does in Africa is a guerilla war. Not now, of course. When Soomaaliya becomes stable and strongly united, both econimically and politically as well, in that case, NFD will need a definite guerilla forces, and we will support them with forces and financial. We tried it in Soomaali Galbeed, we had almost won in that war, were it not the Soviet and Cuban forces with Itoobiyaans. ______________ Macsalaama.
  18. Salaan... I was in Dubai a couple months ago, and Soomaalida meeshaas dagan gacanaa u taagay. I mean businesska ay meesha ku lee yihiin, it is booming. From four-star hotels to full of gold stores, woow dheh. And do you know in any given day at Dubai Internation Airport inta Soomaali ku jirto in its international terminal? Waa yaabee. Kuwa lasoo celiye iyo kuwa markaas bug ku socdaan oo neerfooso eh aaka buuxaan. It is full of maryooleey. And can you even imagine how it would be like if the Emirate government for one single day decides to close down the Soomaali-owned businesses and how it will affect Soomaaliya immediately? From all the xawilaad companies to airline flights that directly go to Soomaaliya, it will be a full mess. And when I was in that airport, I asked one of the officials there why ay dad real citizenship wato from Western countries u celiyaan or u dhibaan. The official guy replied, "You Soomaalis, we never know who has an authentic passport or document; in each day, we see with at least 25 Soomaali people with bogus documents traveling to Western countries whereas in other nationalities, we might see one or two in each week. Yes, we understand your misery in your back home, but this is too much for us. We are trying our best, but unfortunately there are international laws to obey." Runtii that guy was seriously mad. And honestly hadaan maryooleey nahnay waa dhibnay dadkaas. _______________ Macsalaama.
  19. Salaan... Originally posted by Samurai Warrior: MMA – could you be good enough as to provide us with your understanding of what “nationalism” entails please? Perhaps then, we shall have been in a better position to engage in a healthy discourse. I ask the question for it appears we might possess understanding of variant linear with regards to the notion of “nationalism”. If you really want my personal definition of Soomaali nationalism or wadanimo, this is as of: From Raas Kambooni to Raas Caseyr to Gaarisa to Dira Dhawa to Jabuuti and EVERY land between those cities and towns, and that are settled, established and inhabited by Soomaalis, to me, is the ultimate nationalist dream. And that, to me, is our ultimate salvation. You might recapitulate in one defined word: Flag. What our blue flag stands is for my fighting, albeit politically. An implausible dream, you might think giddily. However--and heey, kamoon--that is my definition of Soomaali nationalism. It's one thing to be a Somali nationalists, but to what extent? Will you force it down the throats of people weather they like it or not? Will you start a war to realize the aim of a united Somalia? Will you whip out an entire group who oppose your vision and want to leave? What price are we willing to pay for Somali Unity? How much blood will be shed? Bariyoow, widaayoow, waxaas dhan maloo baahno. Violence walaa force, hal wax kaliya aa loo baahan yahay: Educate them about qabiil and its arrogance and superiority side they believe it is. Educate them about the equity of Soomaali people, and how equal every qabiil is. Educate them about importance of unity. The mother of all troubles in Soomaali case is and was qabiil. The ignorance of some supporting their region {read "qabiil"} by compromising the Soomaali unity. We need the SYLs of yesterday in today's world. In the West, they say keep the separation of state and church, mine would be separation of qabiil and dowlad. P.S.: Why don't you call me Mr. Soomaali instead of "Mr. Mog"?? Or rather, in your case, Mr. Boosaaso would do fine for me. ________________ Macsalaama.
