Galaal wax kale ku eedeey, Abwaanka, laakiin haku eedeyn dagaaladdii fooshaxumaa ee sokeeye uu ka qeyb qaatay. Waligiis ma galin. Ciidamadda militariga Iskoolbuluusiyo loogu tagay Xamar ayuu maamulaaye tan iyo wixii ka dambeeye dowlad la'aanta, oo asaga ayaa shilimaanta uu ugu soo helo dibadaha ku quudin jiray. Xataa Caydiid damcay in uu la safto, oo dhankiisa ula jiro markee Cali Mahdi hilfaha isku qaadeyeen, Xamarna dhulka dhigeen, Galaal ka diiday. Ani Galaal oo dagaal sokeeye ka qeybqaadanaayo meelna maku arkin. Haddaa heysid wax cadeyn eh, noo sheeg.

To me, evolution exists and directs me toward the prove of one creator, which is Allah. How? Sidee camal? Quraanka says Nabi Aaden iyo Xaawo [naxariistii Eebbe korkooda ha ahaatee] ayaa kasoo faractanay, all of us, while the so-called theory of evolution objects, instead outlandishly claiming dad kasoo jeedo daanyeerada ilaa hoos laga gaaraayo malaayga? Doesn't that itself simply and basically contradict waxa ku qoran Quraanka Kariimka oo Eebbe yiri? Evolution is a just another theory, among of many. It has no evidence whatsoever, only conjuring up wild thoughts of mad scientists, badankoodana Eebbe aaminsanayn. And I cannot believe we Muslims inaa dhexgalno waxaan shaqadeyna ahayn. We have Quraanka, qadarkiisana nagu filan. Only confused ayaa ku jahwareero meeshee life kasoo faractantay even while it is clear meeshaa kasoo jeedno oo ku qorantahay Quraanka. Markuu Quraanka leeyahay wax walba, every living creature laga abuuray 'biyo,' qof ogaa ma lahayn. Markuu Quraanka leeyahay Eebbe 'cleft asunder' the Heavens and Earth, what they now call 'Big Bang' theory, anaga waa aaminsanayn. Ha isku mashquulin wax aadan faa'ido ka heleynin, oo cadeys lahayn.

Hiiraan iyo markacadeey.com ayaa ugu roon, duqa. They may not be perfect, laakiin labadaas shabako ayaa ugu roon markee timaado wararka Soomaalida. Idaacad ahaana idaacadda Banaadir ayaa ugu roon, oo radiobanadir.com laga heli karo. Midnimo.com oo laga leeyahay same company leh Idaacadda Banaadir, ayaa iyadana kistoo dhaami jirtay, inkastoo sidii dowlad ku sheegii Geedi loo dhisay, u janjeertay dhankaas. Saas ee tahayna shabakaddo badan ayee dhaantaa. Old ones like banadir.com and somalitalk.com wey roonaan jireen iyagana, inkastoo somalitalk.com dhanka wadaadada u janjeertaa, sida Maxkamadaha, right iyo wrong. Banadir.com long time aa igu dambeysay, uma maleeyi see ahaan jirtay inay tahay. Off topic, I always wondered how come the top quality online sites are all based in Kanada. Hiiraan.com [Ottawa-based], somalitalk.com [London, Ontario-based], markacadeey.com [another Ottawa-based] and even banadir.com [a Koronto-based one]. Even that infamous somalinet.com was a Koronto one; heck this very site, SOL, has a Kanada connection.

Sababta ninka fariinta noo soo gubdiye weerar culus loogu haayo ayaan kasi la'yahay. Muxuu galabsaday ka ahayn his right to voice dalkiisa iyo dadkiisa oo shisheeye ka ilaalinaayo. Soomaaliya goormee dal 'multicultural' noqotay? Mise dalalkii Galbeedka aan ku raagnay ayaa been noo sheegtay? Warka meesha la keenay aan usoo noqdee. Warkaan aniga ma aaminsani, mana u dhawo credibility wax ah, oo Yahuud maanta Xamar degan ayaaba iska yar. You want a little proof? Read below. He speaks nostalgically of back when “the government used to have control” of the Islamic courts, and daydreams sometimes about returning to Yemen — where there are at least “more Jewish people”. But he knows, he could never leave his mother (presumably, alone) in Mogadishu. They, and along with that purported person, write this. Soomaaliya does not have a central government for almost 17 years, yet they said the purported guy is a 19-year-old who longs and dreams "the government used to have control of Islamic courts." So, markuu dagaala dhacaaye, this purported man was only, we assume, two or three years old toddler. How can he long "nostalgically" the days of the government? Beenta meesha ka socoto ayaaba igu daran maalin caddeey. And intee Maxkamadaha iyo dowladaas Kacaanka isku arkeen? Mise waxee ka wadaan dowladaas used to control, spy on some wadaado waagaas jiray? And if this 'government' laga wado dowlad ku sheega Baydhabo deganayd, they never controlled anybody, not themselves. There are a few, one or two, sites out there that claim to represent Soomaalis who diinta ka baxay as well; none ever produce names iyo wax la xaqiijin karo, marka this is just another hoax oo run ahayn. Xataa -- which I absolutely do not believe -- haddee run tahay this purported man to exist, ma'aha in uu Yahuudnimadiis iyo wax loo joogin lasoo shirtago maadaama uu asagaba qirtay in uu Soomaali ahayn. Soomaaliya iyo Soomaalida degan dalkeena 100% Muslim ayee ahayeen, walina yihiin. Few fara ku tiris that live in West diintana ka baxay, Eebbe ku caasiyeeye have no right to claim Soomaalinimo. They should forfeit Soomaalinimo as they denounced diintooda suuban ee Islaamka. Muslinimo iyo Soomaalinimo ma kala haraan. Diinta maka baxeen, Soomaaliya ha iska iloowaan, ha iska joogaan dalalkee ku noolyihiin. I, however, had no problem men like Maykal Maryamo diin aan diinta Islaamka ahayn ku dhashay, oo eed ma laha ninkaas camal. Midka ugu xun waa kan ama tan diintiisa/teeda ku dhalatay ka baxday kibirnimo, jaahilnimo iyo waxmagaradnimo, oo Eebbahooda abuurtay kibir ugu jisaaray kuna caasiyoobay because Galbeekda ee deganyihiin ayee a little macmacaan ku arkeen, oo noloshii la macaanaatay. Kuwaas xaq uma laha Soomaalinimo iyo sheegashadeeda. See diinta ugu caasiyoobeen ayeena bari ugu caasiyoobayaan Soomaalinimo. -
That was a year ago; another year later, another newspaper features waxaa qarsan jirnay. Tiffany Corrine Dow Minneapolis-St.Paul Star Tribune March 03, 2007 In gathering spots worldwide, Somalis catch up on news of home and engage in generally good-natured "fighting while squatting. " Yassin Issa lives in London, but when he first visited his wife and daughter in St. Paul last fall, he soon was drawn to a coffee shop at 25th and Riverside Avs. in Minneapolis that he'd heard about an ocean away. Word among Somalis was that the Riverside Starbucks captures the spirit of gathering spots across Western Europe and North America where Somalis forced to leave their war-torn country exchange news and views of their native land and connect with each other across continents. Issa, 45, an officer with London's Metropolitan Police and a native of northern Somalia, said Somalis in Minnesota are less volatile than those who frequent the cafeterias he patrols in Central London. "Here it's more liberal. People, they talk and they discuss and they laugh," said Issa, who was separated from his wife during resettlement. In Great Britain, he said, it is better to be quiet if you disagree with something a speaker is saying. But in Minnesota, the speakers are "not waging any conflict at all." The main attraction at the Riverside Starbucks is lively debate about culture and politics. They meet to discuss centuries-old clan rivalries that run deep as bone marrow and to maintain an oral tradition of exchanging information. Every day, 20 to 40 Somali men play a game of musical chairs, grouping around tables and snatching open seats, as they shuffle in and out of the Riverside Starbucks from opening until closing. They say their daily prayers in a hallway between the coffee shop and the adjacent Bruegger's Bagels. A sign at the end of the hall warns them to be careful because the door opens frequently. Omar Jamal, 35, is a vocal supporter of Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf and a fixture in the local Somali community who goes to Starbucks every day -- even though other men provoke him into "crossfire" by attacking his political positions. This is known as "fadhi ku dirir," or "fighting while squatting," Jamal said Americans have a similar practice: It's called talk radio. Somalis present their opinions as if on a debate team, said former Somali Prime Minister Ali Galaydh, who was a visiting professor at the Humphrey Institute in Minneapolis. Somalis have an oral culture, said Galaydh -- they had no written language until 1972. "Your point will be most persuasive the more allusions [it has] in terms of poetry, in terms of story and anecdotal stuff," Galaydh said. Yusef Yusef, also known as Liban DJ, discovered Somali gathering spots throughout the United States and Canada while promoting his film, "Flight 13," a comic documentary on Somali refugees. " They're building a government every morning, and before they leave the table they destroy it [ ]," said Liban DJ, a Minneapolis resident who frequents the Riverside Starbucks. Varying interpretations of an unwritten history fuel unrelenting debates between Somalis from different clans, sub-clans and ideologies, Galaydh said. For a half-century, two clans in Somalia, the ***** and the ******, have been swapping power, he said. "You are told your genealogy, just like in the Old Testament: 'So-and-so begat so-and-so,' " said Galaydh. "If you are 5 or 6 years old ... you are told your genealogy, and you commit it to memory." Ali Isse, 41, often drives to the Starbucks from his home in Shoreview or after his workday ends at UCare Minnesota. Isse's mother and father are from rival clans, he said. To him the "fadhi ku dirir" is not about clan rivalry, but about venting as a form of therapy. "Say what you have to say now. Don't take anything home to your family," Isse said. Because Isse has a relative in every city in Somalia, he is one of many information brokers on current events at Starbucks, he said. He calls family members several times a week. "In the morning, first I check what happened on the Internet," Isse said. "So, I see, 'OK, there's an attack happening here. How many people got killed?' and then you make the decision to call based on that." He compares information from Somali, Western, African and Arab media sources. But Somalis get their definitive answers by calling home, Isse said, and gathering in groups to share what they've learned. Missing from the Starbucks debates are women. Amino Abdi, Ali Isse's wife, said women don't have time to socialize because they are busy with children and jobs. Every weekend there is a wedding, Abdi said, typically attended by only the Somali women; the events provide a way for women to exchange information and dress lightly. Galaydh gets daily calls from friends, relatives and political affiliates in Somalia, and says he goes to the Starbucks only for the New York Times. Many Somalis who frequent the shop are avid supporters of President Yusuf, a rival of Galaydh. Neither Isse nor Galaydh has taught his children a genealogy. When Galaydh's son, then 14, was questioned about clan affiliation by an uncle in Somalia, Warsame Galaydh responded that his father was a Democrat [sax. I too do not know, and never did my old man or hooyo ever tried to. I am glad haddaaba magaca afaraad dhaafsiin karin.] Abdi Omer, 40, an engineer for the city of St. Paul, goes to Starbucks because of its history and good drinks, he said. When the first Somalis immigrated to Minneapolis, this Starbucks was the only place on Riverside to meet, Omer said. As more Somalis came and started businesses, the clans began supporting their respective family-owned restaurants at mealtime, reconvening at the Starbucks afterward. Galaydh said older Somalis are not learning from exposure to "open society, competitive politics, and peaceful dialogue" in America. The crossfire doesn't typically become physical, although Jake Miller, a full-time Starbucks employee, has witnessed a few coffees fly and one fistfight in the parking lot . But no non-Somali customers have complained about the Somali gatherings. " A lot of non-Somalis just sort of look around in awe," he said. "We just say this is like their bar ."

Sawirka sabab ayaa u soo raacsiiye. It conveys what words cannot ever accomplish -- touching you in a way never words will do. Reer Shiino have a well-known and well-utilized aphorism-- a picture saves and spares many words from you; in other words, it is worth more than a thousand words.

Soomaaliya kuwa hubka heysto ayaa ka 'minority' eh than peace-loving ones. Don't believe the hype of 'minority clans;' haddee minority jirtana kan kugu dhahaayo waxaas asagaa ah. Unarmed clans, yes, but not minority, duqa. Ee ha iska dhigin minority ayaa tahay. Heey, I won something! I did not know this. Unbelievable. My five years of SOL have finally paid off. Indeed, I would like to thank everybody and nobody and anyone and no one -- I am shocked, shocked, beyond shocked; God, from the bottom of my heart, my mind, my cyber character, I indeed like to thank all those who voted for me and those who didn't. I would also like to thank my fellow distinguished nominees. I also, again, would like to thank God, my parents whose nourishment and nurturing, and without them, I would have never won this prestigious award -- unbelievable, waaw, waaw. Dank yuu, dank yuu, dank yuu, dan... [Forcibly removed from the stage.] ...you... Wait a minute, what did I win again?

At approximately 2045 hours on March 16, 1993, an unarmed 16-year-old Somali youth, Shidane Abukar Arone, was captured in an abandoned U.S. Seabees compound, located beside the 2 Commando compound. Mr. Arone was captured by Sgt Hillier, Tpr MacGillvray and Capt Sox. (Capt Sox had replaced Sgt Skipton on patrol for a short period of time because Sgt Skipton had a scheduled phone call to make.) Mr. Arone was fully dressed and did not offer any resistance. When Sgt Skip ton returned, he saw that the captured Somali was in good physical shape. After the capture, Capt Sox ordered Pte Brown, who had been assigned to guard the 2 Commando gate from 2000 to 2300 hours, to locate the person in charge of front gate security to tell him to come back to where the prisoner was being held. Pte Brown found MCpl Matchee, who was the second in command to Sgt Boland (and Pte Brown's and Pte Brocklebank's immediate superior) and returned with him to Capt Sox. Capt Sox then assigned MCpl Matchee to guard the prisoner. By this time Mr. Arone was bound by his ankles and wrists and had a baton stuck between his arms and his body behind his back . Over the course of the next two and a half to three hours, Mr. Arone was severely and brutally beaten and burned with cigarettes by MCpl Matchee , with the acquiescence and perhaps the help of Pte Brown. Mr Arone was rendered unconscious from time to time by the beatings. When conscious, he reportedly was required to yell "Canada, Canada" . [sNIP] While Sgt Boland was present, MCpl Matchee retied Mr. Arone's ankles. He also removed one of Mr. Arone's garments and tied it around the young Somali's head. MCpl Matchee then proceeded to pour water over Mr Arone's head. In Sgt Boland's presence, Pte Brown punched Mr Arone in the jaw (although in Sgt Boland's court martial testimony he referred only to Pte Brown having said something to the prisoner). As Sgt Boland went off duty, he said to Pte Brown and MCpl Matchee, "I don't care what you do, just don't kill the guy." (According to Sgt Boland, he had remarked "don't kill him", and he described this as having been said "in a facetious sort of way, sarcastic".) MCpl Matchee stayed in the bunker with Pte Brown after 2200 hours, during which time both men hit and kicked the prisoner in his ribs and legs. MCpl Matchee also kicked Mr. Arone in his face . MCpl Matchee said to Pte Brown, " I want to kill this $#@% [f-word], I want to kill this guy ", and continued to beat the young Somali until his mouth bled . MCpl Matchee left to go to the tent of Cpl McKay, where he drank some beer. Sgt Boland arrived at the tent and had a beer with MCpl Matchee and Cpl McKay. MCpl Matchee said that Pte Brown had been hitting Mr. Arone and that he, Matchee, intended to burn the soles of the Somali's feet with a cigarette. At the bunker, MCpl Matchee told Pte Brocklebank to give him his pistol. Pte Brown testified at the courts martial that Pte Brocklebank seemed puzzled by this and told MCpl Matchee, "but it's loaded". Responding to an order from MCpl Matchee, Pte Brocklebank handed over his weapon, which was then held to the head of the prisoner by MCpl Matchee. According to evidence at the courts martial, MCpl Matchee held the pistol to Mr. Arone's head and told Pte Brown to take his picture. MCpl Matchee continued torturing the prisoner. He returned to the command post where he told his superior officer, Sgt Gresty, that "the Somali prisoner is getting a good sh!t kicking". Sgt Gresty took no action to go out and stop MCpl Matchee. MCpl Matchee remarked to MCpl Giasson that in Somalia, the police would shoot the prisoner, and that "in Canada we can't do it but here they let us do it, and the NCO are aware of it". He stated that MCpl Matchee then took a two- to three-foot hollow aluminum pipe that he, MCpl Giasson, carried with him on his rounds. During the time that Mr. Arone was being tortured and beaten to death, there were a number of Canadian soldiers in both the command and sentry posts. Shortly after midnight, Mr. Arone was dead. Most of the beating was administered by MCpl Matchee. Pte Brown was present during much but not all of the beating. Pte Brown admitted that at an early stage of the prisoner's ordeal he had punched him once in the jaw and kicked him twice in the leg. The exact cause of Mr. Arone's death was never determined, because no autopsy was performed. Medical evidence based on photographs and the description of the beating was that the death was probably caused by brain swelling resulting from the cumulative effects of blows to the head. Lacerations on the deceased's face were probably caused by blows with a fist, and such blows may have had a concussive effect, contributing to Mr. Arone's death. Death was preceded, however, by prolonged and severe pain and suffering. Xigasho Of course this is a sanitized version from the 'Soomaaliya Inquiry,' that the military investigated. I am sure a lot worse his they did to him that his torturers did not admit. Shidane Caroone ehelkiisa inay sue gareyaan ayaa fiicneed eeyadaan waxaas galabsaday, including the whole military department and the dowlada Kanada itself. I heard, not sure though, that some Soomaali community members unsuccessfully tried to sue on behalf of marxuum's family.

This week is dedicated to the memory of Shidane Caroone, his horrific, tortured murder by Canadian soldiers in Maarso, 1993, resonated around the world. It was a 14 years ago this week Shidane Caroone, an outcoming of age teenage boy and a resident of Beledweyne was captured by ciidamo Kanadiyaan naxariistii ka dhamaatay, torturing his poor soul to death, while agonizing, anguished loud voice for help in their camp -- not a soul woke up to help him, including higher officials who ran that camp. His tormentors also took 'trophy' videos and pictures, sadistic images of his tortured body and during when they tortured him to death, thus self-incriminating themselves, though justice never arrived fully. None was convicted in a long prison term. Shidane Caroone, Eebboow u naxariiso walaalkeen. More info regarding him, you can find on here ,here and here .

What Musaveni doesn't like the world to see at his backyard that seems to never end. A man who cannot help and defend his own massacred, raped, kidnapped and victimized people for decades and still on, has absolutely no business to be and meddle in Soomaaliya. Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), formed in 1987, is a paramilitary group operating mainly in northern Uganda and parts of Sudan. The group is engaged in an armed rebellion against the Ugandan government in what is now one of Africa's longest-running conflicts . [sNIP] The LRA is accused of widespread human rights violations, including mutilation, torture, rape, the abduction of civilians, the use of child soldiers and a number of massacres. [sNIP] Two weeks after Museveni delivered his ultimatum of 6 February 1994, it was reported that LRA fighters had crossed the northern border and established bases in southern Sudan with the approval of the Khartoum government. Sudanese aid was a response to Ugandan support for the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) fighting in the civil war in the south of the country. Also, convinced that the Acholi were now collaborating with the Museveni government, Kony began to target civilians with his increased military strength. Mutilations became commonplace, and 1994 saw the first mass abduction of children and youth. The most famous of these was the Aboke abductions of 139 female students in October 1996. As most of the LRA combatants are abducted children, a military solution is widely perceived by the Acholi as a massacre of victims . Government attempts to destroy the rebels are thus viewed as another cause for grievance by the Acholi. The moral ambiguity of this situation, in which abducted young rebels are both the victims and perpetrators of brutal acts, is vital to understanding the current conflict. The creation of the government "protected villages" beginning in 1996 further deepened the antagonistic attitude that many Acholi have toward the government, especially as the population continues to be attacked by the LRA even within the "protected camps." The camps are also crowded, unsanitary, and miserable places to live. Meanwhile, in 1997 the Sudanese government of the National Islamic Front began to recede from its previous hard-line stance. Following the September 11, 2001 attacks in the U.S., the relationship between Sudan and Uganda abruptly changed. Cross-border tensions eased as support to proxy forces fell. Some of the hundreds of thousands of civilians displaced by the war began to return to their homes. The number of people displaced by the conflict declined to about half a million, and people began to talk openly of the day when the "protected camps" would be disbanded. Night Commuters Each night, children between the ages of 3 and 17, referred to as "Night Commuters" or "Night Dwellers" walk up to 20 kilometres (12 miles) from IDP camps to larger towns, especially Gulu, in search of safety. Initiatives to raise international awareness for these children include the "Gulu Walks" and the work of the Uganda Conflict Action Network. Night commuters are also the subject of documentaries such as Stolen Children, Wardance, and Invisible Children. Gulu has been the location of much of the insurgent fighting by the Lord's Resistance Army and was the birthplace of both Alice Auma and Joseph Kony. Over 90% of the population has been displaced, mostly into camps clustered around towns and trading centers. To avoid abduction by the LRA thousands of children travel from rural areas to seek refuge in towns every night. Xigasho I Xigasho II -
Ever wondered how Morgan would look like without his beard?

If you are too eager to see what Max'ed Xirsi Moorgan looks like without gar, you should have known he did not always sport that 'revolutionary-style' beard of his. Just look at his older, dated pictures. He always seemed to have had a huge shaarbo, but not gar. -

Bilaal, weydii kan deeggaanka qabiilkeyga inaan goostaa rabo because of qabyaalad or supporting in Soomaaliya la kala gooyo because of qabiil, sababta uu su'aashaas kuu weydiinaayo adiga. That same person should never have any reason whatsoever to object waxee dadka kale taageeraan oo qabyaalad ku saabsan maxaa yeelay asaga ayaaba ugu horeeyo in the front seat when it comes supporting qabyaalad. ------------- Those images are an unfortunate, laakiin ma'aha in la wada eedeeyo Reer Boosaaso. Dadka xaga degan waxba ma galabsan, only callous manaxyaal aan habayaratee u naxariisan dadkooda ka cararaayo dhibaatada and blindly ignored by the corrupt so-called leaders up there, in a classic maxaa-iga-galay style. And attacking the secondary messenger, in this case warbaahinta Shabeelle, instead of attacking the perpetrators of these crimes and those who shelter them, will never lessen those horrific pictures and victims' ordeal. Their plight is periodically covered by the international media, one of the most recognizable that already exposed this: Aljasiira, BBC, New York Times, Independent, to name a few. Dadkaas ku naf beelay xaaladaas Eebbe ha u wada naxariisto.
