Actually, of all animals that lived duurka Soomaaliya, maroodiga iyo geriga [giraffes] kamid ahaa kuwa loogu jeclaa. A bit exotic ahayeen, to us ciyaalkeena magaalooyinka ku koray ka wadaa. Ar Kuusha and Aaliya, speaking of stepfathers and stepmothers, ninkaan hoos ku qoran qoraalkiisa talo u baahan ee maxaa kula talin lahaydeen? Xaaskeyga gabar ay horey nin kale ugu dhashay ayaa i tiraahda: "Ninkaan ma arki kari, waa nacay, hooyadeyna in uu qabo ma rabi” Walaal waan idin salaamay, waxaan idinku salaamay salaanta Islaamka. Anigu waxan ahay nin Soomaliyeed 30 jir ah, kuna nool dalka Iswiidhan -- aniga iyo caruurteyda iyo waliba xaaskeyga aan aadka u jeclahay. Waxaa i heysta dhib, kaas oo ah xaaska aan guursaday ayaa lahayd ilmo hore oo ah gabadh 15 jir ah, taas oo nala nool anaga, markasta waan isku dhacna, oo way i caysaa, wax kasta oo aan u dulqaato hadda waan u adkaysan waayey, xita aniga iyo hooyadeed ayeey isku dhacna dhibka ay nagu hayso awgiis. Caruurta yaryar ee an dhalay qaati ayan ka taganahay aniga iyo hooyodeedba . Waqtiga ay naga guuri lahaydna ma dhawa, waayo wax kasta waa lagala quustay xitaa hooyadeed mar ayaan damcaa inaan iskaga tago, hadana mana rabo in aan xaaskeyga u waayo gabar yar awgeed. Xaaskaygu waxay leedahay, “ Waxyar ayaa u haray markay guuri lahayd gabadhu.” Waxyaalo aanan u dulqaadan karin ayay ku dhaqantaa, xita caruurta yar yar si xun ayay ula dhaqantaa, markii la waydiiyana waxay leedahay ninka ma arki karo, waayo hooyaday in uu qabo ma doonayo, intaas ayaan ku nacay. when people call me qalanjo am usually flattered...I will no longer allow that nickname to be used...female elephant did you say...akh!! I see that wali ma maqlin qof lagu dhahaayo, "Waa wareey, qoftaan faras waaye." Dad ayaa gabdhaha saas ku shukaansado, yacni dhaho, 'Abaayo faras aa tahay ka waran.' Kuusha, eedo hee? Maxaa tirina, eedo macaan? Qareertii maala waaye.

Kuusha, waxaas maa 'eedo' la dhahaa. Sheeko. And, by the way, does he call you 'eedo' when he visits? Aaliya, qalanjo waxaa la dhahaa female elephant. Some also say it is a female cow's name. Nonetheless, magac wuu yahay and whence or how it originated from, I don't know. Perhaps Soomaalidii hore found she-elephants to be exotic, I guess.

What is wrong with quraanjo? They are very smart creatures, you know. And qalanjo too is an animal name nooh, so waxba isma dhaamaan.

Markee seefta idinku dhacdo, don't say I wasn't been warned. I am referring to insult-addicted folks above this post. Their incitement and hatred against certain clans and one another is boundless as well.

It is universal, yea. In dhaqanka Soomaaliyed, further, eedooyinka and adeeriyaasha have had bad rap sheet as well. Habaryaasha iyo abtiyaasha laga jecelyahay.

Soori, macalinka. Ani iyo qaaci iyo qaraami wixii la dhahaba ma isku fiicni. Heesaha kataaradda lagu garaaco somehow waa ku gam'aa, oo hurdo hurdo igu qabato. Waa kasoo biloow kuwii Cumar Dhuulle [Eeebba ha u naxariistee] ilaa iyo qaar kamid ah Axmed Naaji kuwiisa -- kuligood iima baxaan, wax kataarad lagu garaaco. Now, if you want to talk about Cumar Shooli, Sulfa, Faadumo Qaasin, Shimaali, heesahooda dhamaantood, we are in a un-caajis zone for me then.

Somalia defeat in 1978 and Siad Barre

Wuxuu yahayba dadkiina aflagaadeynaayo qofkaan ha laga daayo caayda. Aragtidiisa asagaa leh. He is, however, one-dimensional poster -- only one subject and topic ayuu ku jiraa maanta dhan, marka ha isku luggooyina. Hadda kuma cusbo, waa horena wuu soo qori jiray, same like this. Laakiinse, in order to shut him once and for all, here is a pictorial gift for his so-called pride: Cuban artillery Carlos Orlando, 20, stands with two Somali insurgent soldiers at this village in the [soomaali Galbeed] desert following his capture. Somalia officials said Orlando was part of a contingent of Cubans helping Ethiopia in the desert war on the Horn of Africa. Cuban soldier Carlos Orlando, 20, (foreground with overcoat) talks to reporters here 1/27 following his capture by Somali insurgents in the war-torn [soomaali Galbeed] desert region of Ethiopia. Ethiopia has denied it was using Cuban soldiers in the war against the insurgents and Somalia showed Orlando to reporters to back up their claims to the contrary. -
Duqa, ma fahmin, maxaa ka wadaa? Heeso badan oo lagu magacaabo "Raaxeeye" ayaa jirto maa dhahoysaa oo inaa wada heshid maa rabtaa? Mise wax kale jiro...

It's true that Somali music has suffered in last two decades much the same way as other institutions and infrustructure in the republic. But the creativity and ingenuity is stil there, we are just in a bad shape now by not having the platform to develop new material/talent (ie.Government). Fanka iyo suugaanta dowladii hore ayaa taakuleyn jirtay, oo hiil iyo hoo la daba taagnayd. Mushaarka abwaanada, fanaaniinta, heesaleyda, soosaariyaasha, iskudabaridiyaasha iyo inta kaleba dowladda bixin jirtay mushaarkooda. Taas ugu wacan hormarin weyn inuu gaaro fankeena, siiba xulka Waaberi oo caalami noqday, dowladda la daba taagnayd maalin iyo habeen. Marka fankeena soo saaridiisa in uu hoos u dhaco waxee kamid tahay waxyaabaha kale wada dhacay dalkeena. Heesaha cusub dad qoro iyo alifo rabaan, shaqadooda ahaydna abwaanadii oo ruwaayadaha ku alifi jiray. Abwaanadii wax dhibaato dishay, wax wada geeriyooday iyo wax tooda nolol maalmeedkooda meel u la' wada noqdeen, maxeeba heeso alifaan. Fanaaniintiina sidaas camal, oo wax u alifo waayeen waxooda hore ku noq noqdaan, kuwa cusub soo caanbaxay warkoodaba daa. And Itoobiya was and is never ahead of us in wax walba, be it literature or ruwaayado. Itoobiya is not even a real nation in the sense of the true word of it. Each ethnic community with that fragmented 'country' has its own culture and sticks with it. There is an Itoobiyaan channel in the satellite programs I watch, and the few times aan daawadaday that kanaal heeso Soomaali lee ka buuxday. Ma'ogi inay ula dan lahayeen inay Soomaalida soo jiidaan or something, but heesaneena ka buuxday, ka biloow C/qaadir Jubba iyo Xasan Aaden Samatar.

Tried to find the CBS prgrammes on last night, failed it, maybe you could help adaa iga fara-dhuubanee. As usual what is posted on here is fabricated. They are referring, I do think, the 60 Minutes program, who did an interview with Obama and broadcasted on last Sunday. On the second segment of the interview, which mainly deals about his family, there is nothing about Soomaaliya as well. Not even Afrika. If you check the link's official transcript, I don't see anywhere ee kaga hadlaayo arrimaha Soomaaliya, let alone Waqooyi. Mise they saw a news segment that we don't know. It should be there somewhere on CBS site then. ____________ Edited: I did find the article ee ka hadlaayaan. Here it is. I guess the two sentences about Waqooyi Galbeed kaga hadlaayaan soo jiidatay our separatist friends. The article, however, was originally published by The New Republic magazine.

House Negro and Field Negro speech If you're afraid of black nationalism, you're afraid of revolution. And if you love revolution, you love black nationalism. To understand this, you have to go back to what the young brother here referred to as the house Negro and the field Negro back during slavery. There were two kinds of slaves, the house Negro and the field Negro. The house Negroes — they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they ate good because they ate his food — what he left . They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near the master; and they loved the master more than the master loved himself. They would give their life to save the master's house — quicker than the master would . If the master said, "We got a good house here," the house Negro would say, "Yeah, we got a good house here." Whenever the master said "we," he said "we." That's how you can tell a house Negro. If the master's house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would . If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, "What's the matter, boss, we sick?" We sick! He identified himself with his master, more than his master identified with himself. And if you came to the house Negro and said, "Let's run away, let's escape, let's separate," the house Negro would look at you and say, "Man, you crazy. What you mean, separate? Where is there a better house than this? Where can I wear better clothes than this? Where can I eat better food than this?" That was that house Negro. In those days he was called a "house nigger." And that's what we call them today, because we've still got some house niggers running around here. This modern house Negro loves his master. He wants to live near him. He'll pay three times as much as the house is worth just to live near his master, and then brag about "I'm the only Negro out here." "I'm the only one on my job." "I'm the only one in this school." You're nothing but a house Negro. And if someone comes to you right now and says, "Let's separate," you say the same thing that the house Negro said on the plantation. "What you mean, separate? From America, this good white man? Where you going to get a better job than you get here?" I mean, this is what you say. "I ain't left nothing in Africa," that's what you say. Why, you left your mind in Africa. On that same plantation, there was the field Negro. The field Negroes — those were the masses. There were always more Negroes in the field than there were Negroes in the house. The Negro in the field caught hell. He ate leftovers. In the house they ate high up on the hog. The Negro in the field didn't get anything but what was left of the insides of the hog. The field Negro was beaten from morning to night; he lived in a shack, in a hut; he wore old, castoff clothes. He hated his master. I say he hated his master. He was intelligent. That house Negro loved his master, but that field Negro — remember, they were in the majority, and they hated the master. When the house caught on fire, he didn't try to put it out; that field Negro prayed for a wind, for a breeze. When the master got sick, the field Negro prayed that he'd die. If someone came to the field Negro and said, "Let's separate, let's run," he didn't say, "Where we going?" He'd say, "Any place is better than here." Xigasho

I thought he was paraphrasing, if not re-quoting verbatim, the words of and by Malcolm X, and were not his, Dawaahiri's, own phrase. "Field negro" and "house negro" was a well-known speech of Malcolm X. Galbeedka's media maxee wax isku rog rogeen, putting words into his mouth. And in you and in Colin Powell, Rice and your likes, the words of Malcolm X (may Allah have mercy on him) concerning "House Negroes" are confirmed. That is what he said, just borrowing words used by Malcolm X in 1963.

Taas kuu mahadsanyahay, waana waxyaabihii ugu muhiimsanaa dowladaas Kacaanka qabatay.
