  1. WOW that movie was not impressive at all.

It was a great watch - but I was not blown away at allllllllll.

Should have kept my expectations really low.

  2. ^ Um why do you assume I know where you work? you could be working at the local post-office for all I know.

Ps. If you want movies froma a secure site - you have to buy them or access them through websites run by local channels.

  3. ^ Such movies should not be watched in a discount theatre totally missing out on all the special effects.

Heh. not very excited. But as a devout Sci-Fi fan I am compelled to watch it. Will be on Sunday inshallah.

Lily - please watch District 9 and Terminator Salvation.

  4. I have a personal rule in life - never discuss Religion and Politics at work and/or school (excluding trusted friends). Keep to general harmless topics such as the kids (if you have any), tv/movies/books/events (non-religious and political), never annouce loudly your taking time of for any specific reason. Keep your ethnicity a mystery if pressed - say east-africa - if pressed further say Somalia - if questioned about piracy or al shabab - nod slighlty "yea its horrible" walk away

Exceptions are ofcourse if you work in a religious organization or for a political party/cabinet etc.

These discussions always bring out an ugly side of your co-workers you can do without and push people's focus away from the real work at hand to something that has nothing to do about whether I support the minaret ban or not!

There is seriously no point in telling prospective employers your religion. It has nothing with how well you do your job. The whole point of an interview is proving the simple fact that I can do this well and I can also be your new bestfriend smile.gif

If your thinking, I need special accodomations for prayer etc etc. GET THE JOB first and demand second.

  5. OMG Me I just saw this movie this weekend, and leaving the theater we had the same discussion.

We actually didn't think all the Africans died. But that's a good point.

None of those countries represented in the three arcs were from Africa (not even South Africa made it)

But let's hope that the perfect genetic pool they collected, had a few africans in it.

My first thought when they said Africa survived is - damn it they are recolonizing us ! can you imagine poor africans seeing those huge a$$ boats coming at them? slavery !

  6. Salam Maskin

Yep I was there. Inshallah next year's walk is going to be Bigger and Better ! Keep next thanksgiving weekend open

It's funny seeing the pictures again - brings all stress back

It would be amazing if every city with a large somali population took this upon themselves.
