landergirl how are u lol, i dont know if u remember me, that documentary/downtown a few months past on Chavez and Venezula. moi is a friend of a friend saying hi !! nyway nice advice but what can you do emotions are so volatile..a world comparable to that of the 1984 novel would be so ideal if it wasn't so creepy lol One note, Next time they tell you why dont you get married..I would honestly say, if its hurting you so much take some of the burden of me and find me a prospect..otherwise give me space yar! (the "yar" is applicable only if you watch hindi/bollywood movies) Sometimes arranged marriages in the hindu fashion look so great, sadly they kinda suck if you arent marrying the perfect man, since no one is perfect heh... life is far too complicated...when one deals with volatile emotions.. Goes back to her book on neoclassical labour economics...

Sure there are!, there are somali men and women with all kinds of degrees and all kinds of jobs, living in all kinds of places and dreaming all kinds of dreams...

Not sure whats its called but i will coin it as the "stages of acceptance" ur responce wordette sounds like denial..heh Last q Do you wish your children to have the same personality, mannerisms and/or experiences that you had? No I wouldnt want them to have the same personality or experience as I did, one person with short attention span is enough!. I just pray that they dont turn out to be so free-spirited so I would be unable to protect them for as long as I deem it necessary. NEW QUESTION Are you where you have always wanted to be at this moment of your life? meaning now sitting there in your chair reading this, could u really say that you achieved everything you wanted for this period of your existence?
-
Since the last question asked was by Aeronwen What's your problem people? Can't you ever follow rules? REsponse No, we follow rules every day of our lives at work at school in social relations, sometimes you need a break sometimes your mind needs to stop for a minute (if that is possible) and that includes not listening or following rules, every engines needs to cool down..so does our brain ! So if i am not paying attention to you dear friends or family, tis not that I dont care, tis that my mind has taken a temporary holiday..but trust me I shall be back with ears wide open and my heart full of love ... Q-What is the last thing/person that put a sincere simple smile across your face, one of those smiles that made you feel that the world was beautiful and made you feel soo light?

Interesting, as a child I was told, that men shorten thier pants so the cuffs of their pants wouldnt be dirtied and hence..breaking their wuduu..which really doesnt make much sense, when your walking on pavements, where is all the supposed dirt coming from?? . But howmany things adults told you as a child make sense ,,,we were brought up on myths walahi..dont do this or that will happen to you..."dont sit under a tree after magrib..or u will disturb the jinns...and u wont want to do that.." .heh I understand how that hadith applies to people who wear adorned robs and the look of a longer rob shows someones wealth..hence ur showing off...but can it really apply to a pair of pants that dont touch the floor when your wearing shoes? So as you said..some men might do it, to show how pious they are...which is really funny..ppl are so vain..and selfconcious.. I just asked..cause i noticed a few guys at school began this trend during ramadan..it was peculiar to one day see someone wearing yo-yo pants and the next day its sheikh pants..hehe.. Anyway thanks Sharmarkee, I see the logic from the hadith..however I doubt that it applies to regular pants from Zellers/Walmart!
-
I am sorry dont mean to divert from the topic. But a question..why do they shorten thier pants? Ps. Completely agree..the sincere ones are the best...but the question nags on...why shorten the pants?
-
Oh...man the resurfacing of old topics..its like a timecapsule..what did I say two/three years ago? Who was I then and Who am I now...heh Egypt? no..egypt has to take a back seat..its more of a vacation destination..funny, the older we grow, the more our preception of time changes..your no longer planning with definte deadlines..heh

How sweet is one's Iman in Allah (swt) its unfair and wierd of the religion to place more of the female popuation in never ending hell, One wonders why, when most of these muslim women are following thr religion, may be this so called man made haddiths are all anti women.....I dont know.......Why is it its always its women that lead to hell and its door ways, I am far from being religiuos, but one must ask themselves the reasoning behind the philosephies......One will come to the conclusion that the whole religion caters to a man's world.... I am not a big fan of such discussions. I believe a person who sincerely wishes to learn/question certain aspects of the religion should forget about coming to online forums and do the research on thier own and with learned people, that they understand and respect. What made reply to your post Foxy is the experiences of countless MSA meetings, that one specific hadith brings arugments/divisions and a hundreds of questions. As I have understood it, The hadith has specific historical references, that cannot apply to every believeing, practising muslim woman in our world today. Sometimes I beleive people forget the greatness of Allah (swt), how merciful and just he is. If a Muslim woman was taught wrong by a 'anti women' sheikh, wouldnt the punishment be for the 'anti women' sheikh? Why would the innocent recieve hellfire? I am out. Faith.

Grammaticus I know a few people like you, no worries or doubts about what the future holds..tis good to be like that 'sometimes' however, a plan is needed for everything, you have to know where your going and what your doing..Its a bit unimaginable for me that people dont question/search/prepare for their future. I am the sort of a person that as Plan A to Z set up. Plan A fails..Move onto Plan B..and so on...Plan 01 is the innovative plan..."make it up on the spot" thing Pucca I am loving the whole no picture ID thing with the metropass now, its about time. One thing about the TTC though.. too many weirdos after 9pm riding the subways...have you come arcoss ZANTA at yonge station?
-
Maskin, I have nothing but love for the TTC, without it I would be a stuck in Scarborough(the horror..) but unfortunatly it has its limits for those of us that care to visit those outlining cities...Markham, Vaughan, Pickering, Oshawa..the list goes on. What would be a 20 min ride in a car to Markham from Scarborough, turns out to be a 2hr ride with the TTC. Ps. Those new buses are cool...no one ever comes to the top seats...lazy ppl rather stand..hehe Pss. Your not a family man are you? ... have 5 kids and a wifey..and the mini van is going to be your bestfriend

Dear FutureMe, Did you graduate with Honours? Did you get that "job" dear one? Did you finally get over your driving phobia..You know we can't go on taking the TTC for life. ______________________________________________ Ever thought about how things will turn out for you Write a letter to your futureself...abit of a newtechnolgy version of the time-capsule? The media will forever report what is sensational, on what they feel people fear..they will always report on the "others" . Be it the 20-30 yr old Black Man who is always around the city stealing something or shooting someone or The Opressed 'Moslem' woman who must be leading alife of repressed emotions and creativity. I also think we are viewed as being not 'sharp' naive less knowledgable about the world around us absolute innocents. I had a manager this past summer, that always spoke with me in a condesending tone, asking me if I understood something several times a day or correcting my grammer(I have been speaking english since I was 5yrs old) As miss Sheh said, you have to brush it off or your going have a complex about life.

Knock Knock.. Is this where we vent on the horridness of mondays... Today perhaps is the worst monday of my new school year which..only began 3 weeks ago Sunday-10pm..Hoyo shouting at me..reminding that I am past my bedtime...and I stare at the 2 unanswered questions on my "huge" assignment...SOMEHOW i rationalize that I will wakeup at 2 in the morning and do them...my alarm clock will wake me up...it will i said.. Monday 2 am- LOUD BONJOVI MUSIC...( i have one of those radio alarm music clock thingys) I wake up..startled with..the "ITS MY LIFE..LALA" lyrics...stare at the clock..I begin to rationalize again..okay okay.its only two questions and i have 6 hours before class..one more hour of sleep...okay..shut bonjovi up Monday 6 am- I wakeup with the rest of the household..only to realize that I over slept..I run to the living room..praying that for some reason..unknown to anyone, that my alarm clock might just be wrong..and its still 4 am. Alas..it was 6.05...I rationalize...if i take the GO BUS..i should be there early..right? coool take my time to get ready... 8.30 am Its raining mad...run to the ttc stop..head to the go stop..only to stand in a LINE for 45 mins...one of the GO busses decided not to come...I am panicking know...all I can imagine is my Indian prof saying, " Ah jawahiir you hve decided to join us today..we should have waited for you my dear..sit sit..!!!" the emmbarsment..oh lord. 10.30 In class..I sneak in during the break..Alhamdulillallah!!!!! no one saw me.. I sit for the next one hour pretending to listen while i try to finish those two questions...Handed them in, gave the Indian prof a nice smile..wondered if she noticed me late..heh.. 12.30 Standing outside the library..waiting to sell one of the heaviest books i ever bought..I was dying all day tugging it around..Standing..Standing..Standing..for 20 mins NO ONE...the loser didnt show up to buy the book..no money..and left with a very heavy book... Now I must run...to a dentist appt..could my day end with a better thing then injections in your gums and a drill to your teeth? No i doubt it...

lol Jamelia i so relate, many of my friends, felt I was so cold and unapproachable in the start. I just dont make eye contact with people. heh. But u relize that life is short and ur simply wasting time stumbling over your words, you better go and get what you want..in this world and the only way u can do that is by Being BOLD...and Beautiful..hehe.lol..no, hmh just BOLD, take control of every suitation...do your best to know everything and be aware of your surrondings all the time. Shy is cute to a limit.

Sometimes one cannot imagine the possibilites of life after a certain event. You loose prespective of everything, you focus on that one thing and nothing else matters, hence suicide doesnt seem so alien. As Muslims we are aware that we have no right to take our own lives, but this man wasn't muslim and probably felt his "scarifice" to be a very noble act. Its so sad, that he felt it necessary enough to kill himself and orphan his son. He wasn't ****** or a loser, but a very desperate weak man, who loved his child.

I would save him since his death would mark him as a hero among his people. A story maybe fabricated about him saving some poor old baby and drowning, and soon or later we would be seeing streets named after him and status in every city square..and more Bush Alike Leaders follow...and Chaos follows...Why make a matry out of him.. .save him and take a Picture of his Pathetic whimpering....SNAP...(CAPTION) "Leader of the Free World Lost in the Flood, After playing a Game of Golf!, Questions of Leadership Arise!"

Almost 100 organizations around the globe will protest
Miriam1 replied to Libaax-Sankataabte's topic in General
TORONTO (CP) - Ontario will not become the first Western jurisdiction to allow the use of a set of centuries' old religious rules called Shariah law to settle Muslim family disputes, and will ban all religious arbitrations in the province, Premier Dalton McGuinty told The Canadian Press on Sunday. In a telephone interview with the national news agency, McGuinty announced his government would move quickly to outlaw existing religious tribunals used for years by Christians and Jews under Ontario's Arbitration Act. "I've come to the conclusion that the debate has gone on long enough," he said. "There will be no Shariah law in Ontario. There will be no religious arbitration in Ontario. There will be one law for all Ontarians." McGuinty said religious arbitrations "threaten our common ground," and promised his Liberal government would introduce legislation "as soon as possible" to outlaw them in Ontario. "Ontarians will always have the right to seek advice from anyone in matters of family law, including religious advice," he said. "But no longer will religious arbitration be deciding matters of family law." Last December, a report from former NDP attorney general Marion Boyd recommended the province allow and regulate Shariah religious arbitrations in much the same way it does existing Christian and Jewish tribunals, setting off a firestorm of protests. Currently, the Arbitration Act allows civil disputes ranging from custody and support to divorce and inheritance to be resolved through an independent arbitrator, if both parties agree. Catholics, Mennonites, Jews, aboriginals and Jehovah's Witnesses, among others, have used the act to settle family law questions without resorting to the courts. More http://www.canada.com/news/national/story.html?id=4adaefa2-e576-4620-af87-cc70572dda44 Personal Thought It would have been funny to watch the Ontario Gov getting sued from head to toes by all the Muslim Orgs if they only outlawed Sharia law(discrimination against muslims) smart move outlawing all the other religious arbitrations....wonder if the Jews and Christrians will protest...maybe the can get some tips from the Irani women! Conspriacy Thread Why was this annouced on Sept 11? . . . Think about it -
Ngonge..an absolute "LOL" is deserved~!!~ beard strokers..hehe...some men need to start putting some hair care products into those beards..some of the look like they have hay sticking out of thier faces! The One and Only. I will not tell you to take my advice, since I am no certified religious know it all. I will allow you to consider one question. Q-Where do you live? A-Western Country(many kafurs running around!) ( i know i wasnt suppose to answer my own question..tis rhetorical!) My point is..Relax..dont isolate yourself at uni, speak to people, converse in common topics that relate to school and horrid professours..copy from those smart chinese girls...gosh if i didnt do that i would have failed all my economics classes by now! On the otherhand ...dont adopt thier life style and start clubbing and taking meth...and listening to rap or hard rock..so that u would look like those mindless people with headphones on and all u see is them singing along, bobbing thier heads... So sister ! keep the hijab on and those skirts loose...and also most importantly KEEP ya head up, we have to be aware of our surrondings..we arent home..we are in a foreign land..and for godsake lets be smart..how the heck are we to be a strong community in this land if we arent allowed to create connections with the non-muslims? I ask of you!! Okay I am out..i think i filled my qouta of posts for the month..good day folks

If the Crime was henious motivated out of simple evil, the case of "I did it because I could" Perhaps would be the most difficult decision in the world But I would turn them in.

I have a name for such people. INBETWEENS. their nice, they will care if you maybe break your leg, but at the same time they aren't fully there something is missing. Women are certainly capable of being emotionally unattached and you were SPOT ON Rihana, when you said that they are simple users. Since they invest in your relationship only when they are getting someting out of it. Personally can't stand people like that...its also a bit two faced for me. PLS be one way or the other! A Freind or a Foe...! At the end of the day. "Inbetweens" arent worth your time....i usually forget they exist.
