I found this in my email inbox this morning, sent to me by an islamic messageboard I'm a member of. I thought it would be good to share it with the nomads Assalam u Alaikum Check this out, Some very interesting findings of Dr. Tariq Al Swaidan: Tariq Al Swaidan discovered some verses in the Holy Qur'an that mention one thing is equal to another, i.e. men are equal to women. Although this makes sense grammatically, the astonishing fact is that the number of times the word man appears in the Qur'an is 24 and the number of times the word woman appears is also 24, therefore not only is this phrase correct in the grammatical sense but also true mathematically, i.e. 24 = 24. Upon further analysis of various verses, he discovered that this is consistent throughout the whole Qur'an, where it says one thing is like another. See below for astonishing result of the words mentioned number of times in Arabic Qur'an: Dunia (one name for life) 115. Aakhirat (one name for the life after this world) 115 Malaika (Angels) 88 . Shayteen (Satan) 88 Life 145 .... Death 145 Benefit 50 . Corrupt 50 People 50 . Messengers 50 Eblees (king of devils) 11 . Seek refuge from Eblees 11 Museebah (calamity) 75 . Thanks 75 Spending (Sadaqah) 73 . Satisfaction 73 People who are mislead 17 . Dead people 17 Muslimeen 41 . Jihad 41 Gold 8 . Easy life 8 Magic 60 . Fitnah (dissuasion, misleading) 60 Zakat (Taxes Muslims pay to the poor) 32 Barakah (Increasing or blessings of wealth) 32 Mind 49 . Noor 49 Tongue 25 . Sermon 25 Desite 8 . Fear 8 Speaking publicly 18 . Publicising 18 Hardship 114 .... Patience 114 Muhammed 4 . Sharee'ah (Muhammed's teachings) 4 Man 24. Woman 24 And amazingly enough have a look how many times the following words appear: Salat 5, Month 12, Day 365, Sea 32, Land 13 Sea + land = 32+13= 45 Sea = 32/45*100=71.11111111% Land = 13/45*100 = 28.88888889% Sea + land =100.00% Modern science has only recently proven that the water covers 71.111% of the earth, while the land covers 28.889%. Is this a coincidence? Question is that Who taught Prophet Muhammed PBUH) all this? Reply automatically comes in mind that ALMIGHTY ALLAH taught him this. As the Qur'an also tells us this. Please pass this on to all your friends and Muslims you know.Aayah 87 of Suraa (Chapter) Al-AnbiaPara 17: LA ILAHA ILA ANTA SUBHANAKA INI KUNTU MINA ZALIMEEN. I hope that this information is correct. So if there is anyone who has accurate knowledge of the Qur'an and wants to verify this feel free to do so. Have a smashing weekend everyone! Salaam

^ A vase you say? That's a nice idea indeed. You might wanna consider that Bella. Another thing you could give her is one of those nice handcrafted wedding albums for her to put her wedding pictures in. Something unusual like that, which she won't be expecting. Some scented candles for those romantic evenings in. Or a nice scarf with a matching purse. Something unsual is always good, perfumes, cutlery, lingerie is cliche by now. As for price range, it's okay to go a little overboard. Hope that helps

Today is tax freedom day By Ellen Cresswell Last updated May 31 2005 UK taxpayers celebrate – every penny earned from today until the end of the year is yours. All personal earnings from January 1 to yesterday, almost five full months, have gone to the government, but from now until the end of the year our salaries are ours. Today is Tax Freedom Day, the point at which we stop working for the government and start working for ourselves. Devised by the Adam Smith Institute, Tax Freedom Day is calculated by dividing the government’s total taxes into the country's national income. Tax Freedom Day 2005 is three days later than in 2004 and five days later than 2003. This is largely because of increased national insurance and council tax rates, according to the Adam Smith Institute. Because of the budget black hole the government faces this year, it’s likely that it will fall in June in 2006. “Tax Freedom Day highlights to us the vast amounts of money being channelled into the pockets of the taxman,†said David Elms, chief executive if IFA Promotion, the body representing independent financial advisers. “No one likes paying tax, yet nine in 10 of us are paying more than we should and three-quarters admit to doing nothing about it. We are urging people to take tax action now to bring forward their personal Tax Freedom Day and celebrate early,†Mr Elms said. Source Celebrate nomads, CELEBRATE!! I've worked my ...(fill in the blanks) off this year for them basically, now I can just sit back and put more into my piggybank!

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven. When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven...don't step on the ducks." So they entered heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one. Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw. St.Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!" The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck, and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing, and with him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman. The third woman has observed all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps. She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on very tall, tanned and muscular. St. Peter chains them together and leaves without saying a word. The woman remarks, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?" The guy says, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck."

^^ Definitly have to agree with that. I was sorry it had to end, but like all good things.... I wasn't dissapointed at all, every sequel has its ups and downs, but this one was spectacular. THUMBS UP!

I think I was watching a documentary about the same thing. When asked to as what their reason was for targeting people and slapping them, one answered that he did it because some people just looked "dumb" to him and they needed to be smacked out of it. That "smacking them out of it" was sometimes so serious that (like you mentioned) it made people unconcious, or seriously injured. It's pathetic and low. Mass rehabilitation should be applied to these lil' thugs wannabes. I wonder what they will come up with next, probably pellet shooting or something like it.

I can see your stance, but nevertheless plastering pictures of someone in his undergarments is helpful exactley how?? So they degraded a guy that stood high and mighty once, what else are they trying to prove. There are laws they need to abide to, the Geneva Convention prohibits that sort of thing. Just because Saddam was a "monster" don't mean that you should stoop down to his level. Besides, respect to him for standing up to America. We all know that it wasn't because he was a "wicked" that America invaded Iraq...

Pictures of Saddam Hussein in his Underwear LONDON(Reuters) - A picture of Saddam Hussein in his underpants was splashed across the front-page of Britain's biggest-selling newspaper on Friday. The Sun newspaper quoted U.S. military sources as saying they had handed over the pictures "in the hope of dealing a body blow to the resistance in Iraq". Other photographs showed Saddam, with short, dyed-black hair and a moustache, washing clothes by hand and asleep on his bed. But a U.S. military statement said the pictures might be a year old, contravened Saddam's rights as a prisoner and could have broken the Geneva Convention. "Multi-National Forces-Iraq is disappointed at the possibility that someone responsible for the security, welfare, and detention of Saddam would take and provide these photos for public release," the statement said. "This lapse is being aggressively investigated to determine, if possible, who took the photos, and to ensure existing procedures and directives are complied with to prevent this from happening again," it said. Toppled from power in the U.S. war in Iraq in April 2003, Saddam was captured hiding in a small underground bunker in December of the same year. Apart from a brief court appearance last year, no images of Saddam have been made public since then. Saddam is expected to stand trial in next year on charges of genocide, torture and crimes against humanity. If he is found guilty he could face the death penalty. "Saddam is not superman or God, he is just an ageing and humble old man," The Sun quoted the military source as saying. "It's important that the people of Iraq see him like that to destroy the myth. Maybe that will kill a bit of the passion in the fanatics who still follow him. "It's over, guys. The evil days of Saddam's Baath Party are never coming back - and here's the proof," the source said. The newspaper said the pictures were taken at a top secret location where Saddam was being held in a 12-ft by 9-ft (3.6-m by 2.7-m) cell, watched 24 hours a day on closed circuit television by special forces and military police. It is not the first time pictures of U.S. detainees in Iraqi jails have been leaked to the media. A year ago graphic photographs of the abuse of detainees in the notorious Abu Ghraib jail outraged world opinion and were described as the best recruiting campaign for Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda. ^^ Bless you, cuz you just took the words out of my mouth! Blimey, I have heard of desperate but this just tops it. Honey, what is the rush? You're 18 and I am sure that someday you will find "real and unimagined" love. Make sure you don't miss it though while you're busy writing letters to yourself from your wounded lover.

^^ WHY are you still here??? I thought phanta showed you the door a while ago? As for the forum....I would like to know why it has been moved all the way down...first the rather ridiculous tag line and then this...i think they're trying to tell us something girls

"Thick in all the right places"??? I've always laughed at that phrase, isn't that another way of saying I have some extra flab in certain places. I've seen obsese girls saying they're thick in the right places  Whoever invented that phrase and the other one about the "caramel complexion" should be shot. Pushing all those girls who devotedly use that phrase into a abnormal existence of constant denial, that's a crime unto it itself. If we're going to be honest here, just say it like it is exactley to the last tee...no need to dress it up, I mean you are saying that you're proud of whatever figure you have right.
