Salamu alaykum The grave worshipers(sufies) and the brothers of the jews(shias) claim that Our shaykh said that the earth was flat... is there any truth in this? ---Clearification---- From ‘Abdul-‘Aziz ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Baz to the honoured brothers May Allah direct you to what pleases Him. Aamin Salamun alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu… ….As for what the magazine, as-Siyasah has published about me quoting from al-Bayan that was written by the writers of at-Tajamu’ at-Taqadumi in Egypt in regards to me denying the landing of man on the moon and me making takfir [to declare a person a disbeliever] of the one who says it or says that the earth is round or rotates - then it is a pure lie; it has no basis of authenticity. And perhaps the one who quoted it did not intend the lie but failed to verify the quote. My statement is published and distributed and I explained the response to the one who denies the landing of man on the moon and the kufr [disbelief] of one who says it. Furthermore, I clarified that it is an obligation on the one who does not have knowledge to withhold and not to affirm or deny until some knowledge is attained which necessitate affirmation or denial. Also, I affirm in the statement what I have quoted from the Allamah Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, that which proves the affirmation of the roundness of the earth. As far as its rotation, then I have denied it and explained the evidences denying it. However, I did not declare takfir upon the one who upholds it. I only declared takfir(disbelief) upon the one who says that the sun is stationary and does not run on a course because this statement collides with the clarity of the Noble Qur’an and the pure authentic Sunnah which both prove that the sun and the moon both run on a course(moving) Was-Salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu General Director of the Offices of General Research, Verdicts, Da’wah, and Guidance. An Open Letter to President Bush By Safar ibn Abdur-Rahmân al-Hawâlî 15 October, 2001 Mr. President: I am writing this letter to you in hope that it will be taken into account without regard to the faith of its writer, or the colour of his skin, and despite your new division of the children of Adam into the civilized who support all your views, and the barbarians who do not. Perhaps this letter is strange to you, as I write to you as one of the heirs of the prophets, and the prophets, as we know, used to address the tyrants of the earth in the hope that they might repent and fear the Lord of all the worlds. Thus did Moses –peace be upon him- address Pharaoh, Haman, and Karun, and thus did Jesus –peace be upon him- address the Romans and the High Priest of the Jews, and thus did Muhammad - peace and blessings be upon him- address Abu Jahl in Makkah, as well as the Roman Emperor Heraclius and the Persian Emperor Khosraw. It is not necessary for the recipient to listen to or acknowledge the messenger, but it is merely his duty to convey the message. I write to you as a member of an oppressed and persecuted community in a condition like that of Jesus when he was persecuted by the Jews on one side, and Romans on the other side. It is regrettable that the United States, a nation founded by immigrants fleeing persecution, has taken for itself the position of the Roman Empire which persecuted the followers of Christ –peace be upon him- and colluded– with the enemies of faith (the unbelievers of the children of Israel) to slay the prophets and messengers, and to slay their followers in all times and places. At that time the Roman Empire claimed to be the symbol of freedom and civilized values, just as you claimed referred to America in your first statement after the incidents of September 11.It was the greatest world power of its day, the heir of Greek civilization. It had a Senate and a façade of democracy. The Roman citizen had freedom of religion and personal behavior. All this made it superior to other Empires throughout the world, and yet history does not speak well of this Empire because of the repulsive crime with which it stained its reputation: the persecution of the Christians. For this reason that Great Power lost its valuable distinctions when it oppressed a group of believers in God: Who alone possesses absolute power, absolute might, and absolute justice, Who is Mighty in His punishment which He withholds for the oppressor for awhile, but Who one day takes vengeance against him. Indeed, that is what He did. The Northern Barbarians overpowered Rome and destroyed it, They burned its cultural symbols and shattered its arrogance at the beginning of the fifth century of the Christian era. Two centuries later, God caused the followers of the final Prophet Muhammad –God’s blessing and peace be upon him- to inherit the Holy Land in which Christ –peace be upon him- had lived. This was a tremendous victory for Christ since the Islamic Faith which conquered and liberated most of the known world from despotism and persecution, and filled it with mercy and justice, manifested for mankind the greatness of Christ –peace be upon him- and the truth of Christ’s message, as well as the merit of his disciples and their followers as was revealed in detail in the Holy Qur’an. The Islamic community considered itself to be the final link in the long chain of followers of the prophets which began with Abraham, and included Moses and Jesus –peace be upon them- and declared to all the world that the enemies of Christ –peace be upon him- are the enemies of freedom and lofty values, especially the Jews, regardless of whether they denied Christ and incited the Romans against him, or whether they pretended to follow him so as to distort his message as did Saul who is called ‘Paul.’ The amazing thing is that the peoples who tasted the affliction of Roman tyranny and arrogance rejoiced at the destruction of Rome and wondered at the actions of the ‘Northern Barbarians†who did it, despite the fact that they did not know or like them, yet how much more so would it have been if –for example- Rome had been attacked by the oppressed Christians? Would anyone have ventured to blame the Christians if they rejoiced or sympathized with the attackers? Mr. President, we Muslims are a nation of justice. At the same time our ethics do not allow us to rejoice over the misfortunes of the afflicted, yet we would still hope that the United States would review its stand and be more fair, so that we might once again give the benefit of the doubt to the United States for which there are precedents that encourage this hope, and which demonstrate how we used to move two steps towards them for every step of theirs, and a mile for every move of theirs. When President Wilson announced his fourteen points at the end of World War I, and especially the right of self-determination of peoples, it was greeted by the Islamic world as a just position towards European Colonialism that dominated most of its peoples. The Muslims rejoiced at a voice from among the Christian nations themselves saying that the time had come for an end to racial discrimination and crusader campaigns –such as the one led by General Allenby. Thus, the Islamic peoples hastened to place their complete trust in this neutral nation (the United States of America) and the United States profited greatly from this, since besides the moral distinctions it earned, it also achieved the greatest economic advantages in history. Their trust was not shaken even by its unjust position concerning the establishment of the Jewish state and the deprivation of the Palestinian people of their right to self-determination, but the Islamic peoples clung to their hope that that policy was simply an error that might be rectified. Similarly, President Eisenhower’s position towards the three-party aggression against Egypt was one of the biggest factors that encouraged the continuation of the benefit of the doubt for America and the refusal to listen to the claims of the communists –which were not entirely false. However, the trust in America and its justice was rapidly shaken and then declined to the ground because of America’s own behavior which came in the form of one proof after another which permanently refuted the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps the first of these absolute proofs was the actions of President Nixon and his Secretary of State Kissinger during and after the Ramadhan (October) War of 1973, then your father, President Bush whose duplicity of standards were obvious to everybody. Iraq violated the same or fewer international agreements then those that Israel has and continues to violate. Iraq’s excuse in doing so was similar to those used by America to incorporate Texas into its territory. As for Israel’s excuse for occupying Palestine, it is worse than the British justification for keeping America as a British colony, and more repulsive than your ancestor’s excuse for the genocide of the American Indian! It is this contradictory position which compelled the Islamic peoples to attend demonstrations by the millions in support of a dictator whom none of them had previously liked. Then came President Clinton and his Jewish administration. He was more concerned than either yourself or your father with finding a solution for the problem but he followed the same wrong road; describing the horrible terrorist attack on the Abraham Mosque in Hebron as no more than a “crime.†You and he both know that up until now there has never been a Palestinian attack on any Jewish place of worship, and when the terrorist attack occurred in Cana he was not ashamed to describe it as “an unintentional mistake done by the Israelis in self-defense,†Yet when Israel was faced with bombings, he gathered all the World and Arab leaders at the Sharm al-Shaykh conference so that they could all condemn “terrorism†ignoring the continuous barbaric massacres and the long chain of tragedies which the Israelis have brought upon the Palestinians and Arabs, which were not described at all. This caused the Islamic peoples to dissociate from America in view of the fact that it dictated to the attendees what Israel wanted, and from their governments in view of the fact that they yielded to the American administration. They turned with all their suffering and hopes to the groups described as terrorist without any concern about that description, since the conference taught them a good lesson in understanding the terminology of the American double standard: that when America decides that someone is a terrorist or an extremist it places them in the position of legendary heroes in the eyes of the oppressed and the wretched who need some airing after their long defeat and subservience, and as Claes (former Secretary General of NATO) officially informed them that the alliance had placed Islam as the focus of its enmity in place of the former Soviet Union. There is no need for additional practical proofs after this unique title, proofs which arrive daily from everywhere from the Philippines, Timor, Kashmir, the Caucasus, the Balkans, Sudan, and many other places –except that what occurred in Palestine after the defiling of the Aqsa Mosque by the greatest terrorist criminal of this age: Sharon, outweighed all the others. It was your misfortune after your difficult election victory to be contemporaneous with that criminal, and to continue your eternal strategic alliance with him. We Muslims desired to see you elected and we have proof that the votes which gave you victory were our votes, and I personally advised Muslims to vote for you. Some of them hoped that you would be fairer than the Democrats although others clearly stated that the matter was no more than choosing the lesser of two evils. We did not do that out of forgetfulness of the crimes of your party and your father throughout the Muslim World, but because we are a nation of justice and reason we held back our feelings and made the choice which we felt was best for us and for America also. We hoped that you would repay good with good, but you did the complete opposite by increasing your predecessor’s material and political support of Zionist terrorism in the form which has occurred and continues to occur. Bewildered questions were repeated on the lips of everyone in the Islamic Word: Does the American administration have a conscience? Does this biased stance which has dismayed the entire world have any justification and will it ever end? Is America Greater Israel or is Israel Lesser America? In the midst of this continuous confusion and frustration, the events of the 11th of September occurred. I will not conceal from you that a tremendous wave of joy accompanied the shock that was felt by the Muslim in the street and whoever tells you otherwise is avoiding the truth. It is my opinion that America which believes in freedom and democracy -as you repeat in your speeches- should not become upset by this one-time joy, and should not seize upon the Muslim’s spontaneous outpouring of feeling. This nation, which worships God and believes in justice more than any nation on earth, did not do that out of racist enmity or evil intent, but they were joined in this by the entire world: the world that kicked you out of the Organization for Human Rights. 3000 popular organizations mobilized against you at the Durban conference. More than forty nations suffer from your oppressive boycotts and economic penalties, let alone from your military incursions. Even the environment has identified you before the world as its greatest enemy. People’s shock at your first speech was greater than their shock at the event itself. It totally equated America with freedom, justice and noble values, and it contained a harsh threat of vengeance rather than a promise of fair cooperation. We tried to excuse you because of the shock of the events and the need to absorb popular anger, but all of your statements as well as your actions have been of the same mode and have severed any other possibility. Reckless accusations and hasty revenge are the real tragedy for America, and the true test of its values and civilization. Your security apparatus –which had boasted that it could catch a fly passing over the Pentagon and that it would no about a riot among the Eskimos before it occurred- rushed to the nearest flight school and the nearest hotel and took down the name of every Arab or Muslim student or resident and announced that they are the terrorists! Imagine Mr.President, if you were sitting among your family or tribe thousands of miles away and heard or saw the news that you had been part of a suicide operation on a plane? or that it was done by your brother who had died a year ago? Wouldn’t you thank God that you were not a citizen of that civilized country or a believer in their so-called values and justice? Especially when your very civilized people answered these calls of yours, your cabinet members, and your security apparatus and started to attack the barbarian invaders in every free and civilized part of your country. I and the people of my country have discovered how barbaric were are when a gang of Westerners –I will not call them terrorists since they have white skin and blue eyes- performed a series of explosions in our cities, we watched as they gave their serious confessions, and yet we made not the smallest move to attack any Western person in any place in our country, we did not kill them, or strip search them in our airports, nor did we place them in solitary confinement, let alone incite the whole world to form an alliance against them. No, we did nothing of that which your civilized people have done to our children and Muslim brothers in general. What caused us to behave in this manner is our religion and ethics, for which gift we thank God. At this point I would like to ask you Mr. President, if the world chose you to give a prize for the people with the most advanced morals and values, and the best treatment of others, which of the two peoples would you give the prize? To your people or to ours? Does this mean that we bear ill will toward the American people for that we are racist in our treatment of them? No. Never. We believe that the American people in general have such good attributes that they are the closest of all Western peoples to us, and the most deserving of all of them of our desire for them to achieve good in this life and in the hereafter. They are a people the majority of whom believe in the existence of God, and who donate to charitable work more than any other people in the world (and by that we do not mean the evangelization of the Muslims). The truest proof of the goodness of the American people is that they have embraced Islam more quickly and in greater numbers than other peoples of the world, and have tried to understand it better even after you held the Muslims responsible for the disaster without evidence. We desire all good and honor for a people like this from the bottom of our hearts, and good and honor are only achieved by any people by one of two things: 1- Embracing God’s Faith which is alone acceptable to Him, the Faith of all the prophets: Islam. By doing this Allah grants them both the good of this world and that of the next world. 2- Making peace with the Muslims, loving them, and treating them kindly. By doing this Allah rewards them security and good in this world. This Islamic nation, the followers of Abraham and Muhammad –God’s blessing and peace be upon him- is dearest to God of all nations. Whoever honors them is honored by God, and whoever despises them is despised by God, though He may grant them respite for a time. History is a witness to this. You may say, or others may have said on your behalf, “I have apologized for using the term ‘crusade’, I have visited the Islamic Center, and I have advice the people to control themselves,†but we say, “We are used to America to inflict deep wounds and then putting a small bandage on them, but your present attack on Afghanistan has violently removed those bandages and opened a wound in the heart of every Muslim. Mr. President, if only when you did what you did, you had avoided the racist terminology of your speeches about hostile action. It would have been enough for you to simply claim the right -with no need for justification- treat the world any way you want, and to punish whomever you want, whenever you want. But then you had to go on and leave the desire for revenge open without any end in sight when you said “ Today we will concentrate on Afghanistan, but the battle is wider than that.†Is it not enough for you to destroy a whole nation because of an unproven accusation against a single person or organization forced to live in that country? Is this hostility which exceeds all values and morals, and shakes every living conscience in the world only a drop in the sea of your vengeance? Did Christ –peace be upon him- grant you that power? Far be it for him to do that. Even Machiavelli himself does not grant you that degree of power. Your precedent in this is Samson. Won’t you fear God –you who have made your slogan to be “God bless America?†How can God bless and protect her when Christ His Messenger taught exactly the opposite of what you do: “Whoever strikes you on your right cheek, then turn to him your left cheek. Whoever takes from you your garment, then give him also your cloak. And whoever mocks you for a mile, go with him for two miles.†Do you not understand that when you make the desire for endless vengeance to be the attribute of the civilized nation, you make Christ –peace be upon him- to be an uncivilized barbarian? Far be it for him, but you have rejected God and Christ, and followed the behavior of the Popes of the Middle Ages who used to grant indulgences and excommunication according to their whims. You have granted an everlasting pardon to yourselves and to the Zionist State, and to every hostile tyrant, and you have issued an excommunication for anyone who hesitates to join your endless hostility by describing them as terrorists or supporters of terrorism. You search with microscopes for so-called terrorist groups in Somalia which has been destroyed by poverty, or in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon whose humble dwellings are threatened by Zionist terrorism every day. But you forget that horrible terrorism tangibly dwells among you. It is you, and nothing but you. If you do not believe this then tell me by God, if your best friend comes to congratulate you in ten years on the victory you hope to achieve over the mysterious enemy you have fabricated, what will he be able to congratulate you about? Supposing that he says, “Mr. President, we have killed one million Afghanis, one million Iraqis, one million of this and that,†until the end of your cursed list, will that be a victory for civilization, lofty values, freedom and democracy? Certainly among your victims will be starving, naked widows and children. Will that satisfy your desire for vengeance? Shamelessly, you will use the fact that they are alive as evidence that you limited yourselves to the destruction of their mud houses and wooden huts as strategic targets of the smart bombs of your clean war that do not kill people. At this point the world that you have made depressed and sad for as long as God wills, will finally laugh. Yes, they will be forced to laugh by the civilized joke of the miraculous intelligence of your missiles: When you hit Iraq, Iran screamed. When you aimed at Afghanistan during your first attack on that country, you hit Pakistan, and one of your smart missiles infuriated the Yellow Giant by destroying its embassy in Belgrade. I admit –in all fairness- the intelligence of at least one of your missiles: the Patriot missile which saw one of the ****** Scuds which had lost its way, so it knocked it to the right direction and invited it to dinner with the American intelligence officers in Khobar. As for being clean, the whole world bears witness that you fought the cleanest war but with one simple observation: that although you cleaned out Hiroshima and Nagasaki, you unintentionally left a little pollution in its place. Perhaps you will realize your mistake in Afghanistan and its citizens, and be more generous and paint the sites with a little cheap American paint. However, for the sake of the truth we should also say that there is little doubt about the cleanness of your war in Iraq since the witnesses against you are children, and the law does not accept the witness of children even if they number in the millions, but the witnesses for your side are adults of the level of dictators and their generals. Mr. President, do you think that your list in which you announce the names of terrorist organizations and the countries that support terrorism will serve your interests, or will it be further proof that the world is against you? Who is the advisor who suggested publishing this list at the same time that people discovered your own house is glass and is still broken? Why do you make enemies of those who throw stones at you from Japan in the East, to Peru in the West? During the present dangerous security situation in your country wouldn’t it have been enough for you to choose one country and one organization? Or do you want to incite all of them, so that if any one of them performs a terrorist operation you can hold the Muslims alone responsible so that your Crusade against them can continue forever? Mr. President, don’t suppose that I want to recount your few faults and forget our own (in your eyes) very many faults. No, I will mention to you a serious fault of us Muslims: we don’t forget our tragedies no matter how much time has passed. Imagine, Mr. President, we still weep over Andalusia and remember what Ferdinand and Isabella did there to our religion, culture and honor! We dream of regaining it. Nor will we forget the destruction of Baghdad, or the fall of Jerusalem at the hands of your Crusader ancestors. That is, we are not (in your opinion) at the level of civilization enjoyed by the Germans and Japanese who support your hostilities and forget your past treatment of them. Moreover, the African Muslims who embraced Islam after the fall of Andalusia cry along with the Arabs, just as the Indonesians do who only heard recently heard about Andalusia. It may be a problem for us, but who will pay the price after awhile? Mr.President, your problem with the Afghans –and the Muslims in general- is that you are stronger than necessary and they are weaker than necessary. Every time you use excessive force, or are excessive in using it, it proves to be a weakness in strength. This is a great divine mystery which reminds us of what happened to the tyrant Pharaoh at the hands of the oppressed children of Israel. Listen to the story from God’s Holy Scripture: Ta Seen Meem. These are the revelations of the manifest scripture. We recite to you some of the story of Moses and Pharaoh in truth, for a people who have faith. Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and divided its people into groups, oppressing one group among them: slaying their sons and sparing their women. Truly, he was one of the tyrants. We desire to bless those who are oppressed in the land, to make them rulers and to make them the heirs, and to establish them in the land. We let Pharaoh, Haman and their hosts receive from them that of which they had feared. “ (28:1-6) Do not say, “Who am I compared to Pharaoh?†You have demanded of the Muslims what Pharaoh never demanded of Moses –peace be upon him- and the children of Israel: that they should not hate you in their hearts no matter what you do to them or how you oppress them, or else you will have revenge on them. This is an attribute exclusive to God, for God Almighty alone is the Able to wreak vengeance on all who do not love Him. We know of no dictatorial empire in ancient history which treated people according to what their hearts and consciences conceal, let alone a twenty-first century democracy. You may say, “We intend to remove anything that will incite hate from sermons, school curricula, newspaper articles and the media.†We reply that if that is your democracy, then there is try as you like, but you should be sure that you will not succeed. We learned to hate oppression and love the truth from our religion and our Qur’an, and it is stronger than all of your means, and firmer than your mountains. If you refuse everything but the arrogance of force and the insanity of greatness, then there are no means left for you except the extermination of all the Muslims with nuclear or biological weapons, or whatever you want from hellish arsenal contains. You may ask, “Why all of them when some of them love us?†Be sure, there is no Muslim on earth who loves you, even if they donate their blood to you, or set up intelligence gathering stations for you, or delegate to you setting the curriculum for the education of their people. Everyone on earth who claims to love you –and no Muslim is able to make that claim- they only love you like frightened prey loves a brutal predator. You may say, “We will restore the trust of the Islamic peoples by changing their government into tolerant and democratic systems.†But we say you need only cease your evil treatment of us. You destroyed the Iraqi people as well as others by this false promise, and we do not want any freedom or democracy that comes from you and we will not accept it. The enemy of freedom cannot grant freedom. Mr. President, I advise you and put the fear of God before you, to cease and desist from hostile action. Deal with the problem with fairness and patience, and you will find that we are with you reservation. Your hostility now, at the beginning of the way, is easier for you and better for the world. If not, easy beginnings are usually followed by extremely difficult ends. For that reason I ask you to think, Mr. President, if you destroy every country on your list of terrorists, will that be the end or only the beginning? Unless you want to be remembered by history for Armageddon, and in that case there will be no history anyway For this reason I repeat to you: Fear God and think hard. Peace upon him who follows God’s guidance, Safar ibn Abdur-Rahmân al-Hawâlî

Qadi Shawkani said: O scholars of Islam! O kings of Islam! What calamity to Islam is worse than disbelief? What tribulation for this religion is worse than worshipping others than Allah? What misfortune for Muslims can equal this misfortune? Is there any more serious abomination than this open polytheism? And I used to sit close to the circle of Hammaad Ibn Abee Sulaymaan. So a woman came to me, so she said, `A man has a slave-woman, he wishes to set her free according to the Sunnah, how should he set her free?' So I did not know what to say, so I commanded her to ask Hammaad, then she must return and inform me. So she asked Hammaad, so he said, `He should set her free whilst she is free from menstrual periods, and complete the freeing process, then leave her until she has gone through two menstrual cycles. So when she has performed ghusl (ritual bathing), then she becomes permissible for him to marry.' So she returned to me, so I said, `I have no need for kalaam,' and I took my shoes, so I sat with Hammaad."[Taareekh Baghdaad (13/333)] 3. Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala said: "Do not call onto any beings other than Allaah. These are capable of neither benefiti nor harm. To do so is therefore guilty of wrongdoing. When Allaah inverts you with an affliction, none can remove it except Him." (Qur'aan 10:106-107) "Seek your livelihood from Him and worship Him alone." (Qur'aan 29:17) "Who I smore foolish than he who prays to other beings than Allaah, to beings who are ever impotent to answer his prayer?" (Qur'aan 46:5) "Is He not Allaah Who answers the appeal of the needy when he calls upon Him and removes the deed?" (Qur'aan 27:62) At-Tabarani reported, with respective isnad: At the time of the Prophet there was a hypocrite who rendered so much harm to the believers that some of them summoned the others to seek the help of the Prophet against him. When the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam heard of it, he said, 'No man may seek my help. Only the help of Allaah is worthy of being sought.' Issues addresses in this chapter: 1. Adding prayers for the specific purposes to the general prayer of recoursing for help is like adding the particular to the general 2. Explanation of the verse, "Do not call onto any beings other than Allaah. These are capable of neither benefit nor harm." (Qur'aan 10:106) 3. To do this is the greatest shirk 4. To this by even the most righteous and for totally altruistic purposes is nonetheless an act of wrong-doing 5. Explanation of the verse that follows [viz. When Allaah invests you with an affliction. (Qur'aan 10:107)] 6. That, in addition to being blasphemous, recoursing to other than Allaah will not avail in this world 7. Explanation of the third verse [viz. Seek your livelihood from Him. (Qur'aan 29:17)] 8. Prayer for livelihood may never be addressed to anyone besides Allaah. Similarly prayer for paradise 9. Explanation of the fourth verse [viz. Who is more foolish. (Qur'aan 46:5)] 10. That nobody is more astray than he who recourses to other than Allaah 11. That the called is ignorant of the prayer of the caller 12. Such prayer even causes hatred to develop between the caller and the called 13. Calling to anyone is a kind of worship of the person called 14. Blasphemy of such worship 15. All these matters make the calling person the most foolish of all 16. Explanation of the fifth verse [viz. Who answers the appeal of the needy. (Qur'aan 27:62)] 17. The really amazing fact is that idolaters do admit that none responds to the needy except Allaah; and for this reason; they too call on Him sincerely when they are in distress 18. The Prophet's protection of tawhid and discipline before Allaah. [sadly in this day and age there are many who call upon those other than Allaah. For anyone living in the Indian sub continent it becomes apparent that there is much grave worshipping - supposedly under the name of Islam. When a person goes to visit a dead person, often someone who is considered more pious than they are, and ask them for something or to approach Allaah on their behalf, they commit some degree of shirk, for it is Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala alone who has the ability to listen and respond to prayers - and He subhanahu wa ta'ala does as He subhanahu wa ta'ala wills, and may He subhanahu wa ta'ala make things easy for all, ameen. In the words of Hud alayhis-salaam the messenger to the people of Ad : "I put my trust in Allaah my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving creature but He hath grasp of its forelock. Verily it is my Lord that is on a Straight Path." (Qur'aan 11:56). Therefore our trust and our intentions and our actions should be to Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala alone. I was wondering about why any of us do good deeds. Some say that we do them to please others, e.g. I help a friend with some work in class. Others give other reasons, and Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows best. But when I considered this, and thought about it, effectively what any of us should be doing, whether it is kindness to a partner, to a friend, family member whoever, we do these things, to please Allaah. To me the wise person is the one who recognizes this, and whenever they act they do not do it for themselves, or to show of - so it could be said of them - rather they do it because this life is in essence a worship of Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala and part of worshipping Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala is to keep good relations, and to help one another in whatever way we are able. The greatest task however is that of pride and arrogance, that all of us face. Usually when we help someone, we feel good for doing it. That in itself is a very powerful rewards, however none of us should become big headed, and we should always remember that everything that we do do in this world should be as a preparation for the hereafter. And there is no better way to navigate this world that by remembering our Creator and attempting to live our lives as best we can in accordance to the laws He subhanahu wa ta'ala ordained for us, and may Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala make it easy for us all. There are a couple of duas that are important for us: O Ever Living, O Self Sustaining, by Your mercy I call for help. Set right my affairs completely and do not entrust me to myself even for the wink of an eye - Ya haiyul ya kaiyumu birahmatika astaghithu us lili shanikulahu walatuklini ilainafsi tarfaha ain O Allaah make sufficient for me what you have made lawful so that I may avoid that which is unlawful. And make me self sufficient by your favour, free from need of anyone but you. - Alla humak fee nee bi halaali ka un haraamika wa ag nee nee bi faz li kaummun siwa ka In both of the above examples, we are seeking refuge in Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala, we are asking Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala to have mercy upon us, and we are asking Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala to guide us, and provide for us. And surely as written in the following: "O ye who believe! when ye meet a force be firm and call Allaah in remembrance much (and often); that ye may prosper." Qur'aan 8:45 Say: 'He is my Lord! There is no god but He! On Him is my trust and to Him do I turn!' Qur'aan 13:30]

Salamu alaykum, No Allah Subhanahu Wa ta3alalh does not get "Sad" with the disbelievers, rather Allah Hates the disbelievers. refer to Surat Aali Imran verse 32. Sadness is a form of despair. Allah is either pleased with the believers or displeased when he is disobeyed. As for the people of KUFR, He hates them. This is why he prepared the Hell fire for them. Nor will he speak to them. According to Allah Jala wa 3ala, the disbelievers are worse then animals.

Salamu alaykum Very nice mashallah, one small point inshallah, Allah does not get "Sad" he is free from such things.

Salamu alaykum The hadith, "Don't fast on Saturday except that which is obilgatory upon you, even if one of you does not find except the bark of a tree then let him chew upon it."[saheeh see Irwaa al Ghaleel (3/960]) The point is that the Prophet,(salalahu alayhi wa salam) prohibited in this authentic hadith fasting on Saturday except that which is obligatory, and that is only the month of Ramadan, fasting during it's time or making it up. Off course there are some hadith that allow the fasting on saturday,However there are some points to mention regarding this position: Those that prohibit fasting Saturday like our sheikh Muhammad Abdulwahhab al Banna say that the forbiddence takes precedence over the allowance as is known in Usool al Fiqh. From Usool al Fiqh, it is reported by at-Tayalisi in his Musnad (1922) "…Ibn Umar rahdiallaahu 'anhuma was asked about a man who swore that he will fast on a Friday? So he replied we have been ordered to fulfil our oaths and forbidden from fasting this day, the Messenger sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: if I order you with something then do what you are able and if I forbid you from something then keep away." Saheeh al Bukhaaree (9/77) Muslim (1337) And such is the day of Arafat, if it coincides with Saturday do we fast. The answer is no. Except that which is obligatory upon you.The Sheik then makes the point that some people allow the fasting on Saturday if it coincides with the day of Arafat because of the great blessing for fasting on this day. But this is incorrect, as there is also great blessing for fasting on Mondays and Thursdays and the 13th 14, and 15th of the month, but if they coincide the the day of Eid we are still not allow to fast on them. So the prohibition is over the benefit. And the Sheik states that the one who leaves off fasting on Saturday will have the reward for fasting and the reward for folling the command of the Messenger, peace and blessing be upon him. Sheikh al Albaani rahimahullaah uses this to say the forbiddance of fasting on Saturday takes precedence over the allowance to fast.Secondly if the Prophet is seen to do an action and yet he forbids it then his forbiddance takes precedence over his action: Sheikh al Albaani rahimahullaah does not allow joining Saturday with Sunday as there is no proof for that at all The quotes have been taken from Sheikh al Albaani's tapes quoted on Sahab.net on the subject and also sheikh Ali Hasan's book on this issue as it deals with the topic very well, clearly outlining that the position of sheikh al Albaani rahimahullaah is a position based upon strong proof. source:http://www.salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?forum=10&topic=3157 other opinions: Q: The people have differed here concerning the fasting of Arafat this year, as it coincides with Saturday. So from them are those that say, this is the day of Arafat, we will fast it, because it is Arafat. And the fact that it coincides with Saturday does not prevent fasting on it. And then there some who will not fast on it because it coincides with Saturday and we must not make it a great day, as to oppose the Jews…I searched for the answer but could not find any clear answer…I hope that you all(Esteemed ones) will guide me to the Islamic ruling on this issue…you will have a blessing with ALLAH for it for providing the Muslims with beneficial knowledge that will be for them in this life and the next. A: It is permissible to fast the day of Arafat by itself whether it coincides with Saturday or any other day of the week because there is no difference in them. Because fasting the day of Arafat is an(independent) sunna and the hadith about fasting on Saturday is weak due to it contradicting and opposing authentic hadith. The Permanent Committe reply by Shaykh Albani (the hadith master) "So if one who is in opposition to this says; how have you left the fast of A'ashuraa, which is an expiation for the previous year and the fast of A'rafah, which is an expiation for two years, based upon a hadeeth that is "Ghareeb" (strange) and "Shaadh" (contradictory)? We say, the hadeeth is indeed authentic, whoever makes it weak, does so without knowledge" -

As salaamu aliakum I found a few lectures in which Sheik Al Baani makes clear that it is not allowed to fast on Saturdays even if they coincide with the day of Arafat, Ashoora or the 13, 14, and 15 of the month. please visit. http://www.salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?forum=10&topic=3157 -

Salamu alaykum What is the significance of seeing is hair or anything else for that matter? The companions didnt make a big deal about his hair when he was alive, let alone anything else. I was talking to this guy from work, he was saying that the blood of the Prophet is halal to drink. acuudubillah. Wallah even at one point he said, the prophets urine is halal to drink. This is due to their lack of comprehending tawheed. look at this quote from the site "If your blessed foot had not honoured the earth, ablution with soil would not purify anyone" People need to start reading books like, Kitabu tawheed.

Salam rice Many people do not appreciate the sweetness of Iman due to their disfigured comprehension of Allah's oneness and unique attributes and their excessive rancour for Ahlul-Sunnah. And Success lies with Allah jala wa 3ala. When we discuss the readings of Allah's lofty attributes, people either appeal to unknown authorities or their narrow intellect. Every Muslim agrees that the best people who understood this deen were the companions and those who followed them. they are the Jama’a(consensus). The Salaf (pious predecessors) communicated the truth with exactitude and absolute clarity, far removed from the people of theological rhetoric and confusion[ahlul Kalam].If we refer back to their noble works such as, "Usool al-I'etiqad" (the principles of creed) written by al-Lalalikai , - "al-Hujjah" (the substantiation) written by al-Asfahani , - "al-'Uluw" (the highness) written by Imam al-Zahabi , “Usool-As-sunnah†Imam Ahmed. You will come to a firm understanding that Allah is above his creation regulating the heavens and earths and everything in between. Our beloved shaykh, Abu Abdullah Ahmed ibn Hanbal is from the foremost who attest to the Culuu of Allah ‘aza wa jal. in his book "usool As Sunnah" Many people, mainly due to their misplaced knowledge assert that Ibn taymiyah is the prime founder of Allah’s Culuu. Others claim it was Mohammad ibn Abdulwahaab. So we ask them, what does Imam Ahmed say about the matter? Or Sufyan Athawri, Awza’ee or Imam Malik. They are silent, at best they utter,†I don’t knowâ€! Of course with minimal research the sincere worshiper will realize that the people who abetted this deen were upon the understanding that Allah rose over his throne in a way that suits his majesty. By no means do they claim he sits, nor do they speak of such matter. the “How†of Allah’s Culuu is unknown. Walilhamd. Rather they say, and I cite, the imam of guidance, Imam Malik,†Imam Malik Ibn Anas (rahimahullah) was questioned once, and it was said to him: "O Abu Abdillah! (Allah said) : 'The Most Merciful rose over the Throne.' How does he rise? So he (rahimahullah) responded: "The Rising (Al-Istiwaa) is not something unknown. How (it is done) is incomprehensible. Believing in it is an obligation. And asking concerning it is an innovation." Then he put someone in charge of the man he was thrown out.[ Imaam Ibn Qudamah Al-Maqdisee (rahimahullah) Sharh by: Muhammad Salih Ibn Uthaymin (rahimahullah) Pgs. 70-72] And this is in accordance with the Imams of guidance, All that Allah stated - that he rose over the Throne in a fashion that suits him and that He is with us - true in itself, does not warrant distortion, and must be protected from false conjectures. What has been revealed in the Book and in the Sunnah about His Closeness and His Concomitance, does not conflict what has been told of His Exaltation and Highness. Indeed, Glory be to Him, there is none like unto Him in all His Attributes. He is high in His Nearness and Near in His Highness." following is from ibn taymiyah: its called Where is Allah. بسم الله الرØمن الرØيم سؤال وجواب لشيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية (أين الله؟ ) سئل شيخ الإسلام أبو العبّاس Ø£Øمد بن تيمية رØمه الله: عَنْ رجلين اختلÙا ÙÙÙŠ الاعتقاد. The Inverted Prior Priorities By Dr.Saleh As-Saleh "Corrupt creeds, lying, cheating, injustice, innovations, lowly desires, attachment to this life, ignorance, mysticism, grave worship, bigoted blind following, and so forth…and we boast saying: "Our Main Problem is in Our Leaders…!!!" Is this the case? Then Allah Said, Verily! Allaah will not change the good (or bad condition) of a people as long as they don’t change their state of goodness (or sins and wrong doings etc) themselves. [13:11]. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim, rahimahullahs, said: "Ponder upon the Hikmah (Wisdom) of Allaah, the most High, where He has made people's kings, leaders, and those of authority over them, of the same kind as their own deeds. It is as if the people's deeds appeared in the forms of their kings and leaders. If the people are upright, then their kings and rulers will be upright, and if they turn away (from uprightness), then their leaders will turn against them. And if they oppress and tyrannize, then their kings and rulers will tyrannize and oppress. And if deception and treachery becomes manifest amongst them, then the same will appear in their rulers. If the people refrain from fulfilling the rights of Allaah upon them and become niggardly (regarding their execution), then their kings and rulers will refuse to give them their rights and will become niggardly (withhold their rights from them). And if they take away from those whom they oppress that which they deserve not to take, then the kings will take away from the people that which they deserve not to take and will levy taxes and impose tasks upon them. And whatever the people unjustly take from the oppressed, their kings take the same by force from them. So those in charge of the people appear in the forms of their (the ruled) deeds. And it befits not the Divine Wisdom that the evil and wicked be ruled except by those of the same kind. And since the early [Muslims] were the best and most righteous of generations, their rulers were of the same standing. But when the people turned weak, their rulers turned to be of their own rank. So it befits not the Hikmah (Wisdom) of Allaah in these times (Ibnul Qayyim times) that rulers the like of Mu'aawiyah and 'Umar bin 'Addil'Azeez, be in charge over us, and even less the like of Abee Bakr and 'Umar. Rather, our rulers are in accordance with our own rank and standing, and the ones who ruled those before us were (also) in accordance with these people own rank and standing. And both matters (the status of the former rulers and those of this time) are as necessitated and entailed by [Allaah's] Hikmah."2 1Ibnul Qayyim was born in 691 AH/1292 CE, and died in 751 AH/ 1350 CE. May Allaah's Mercy be upon him In Muftaah Daarus-Sa'aadah, vol. 1, pp. 177-178. Published by Daar Ibn 'Affan (1416/1996, Al-Khubar, KSA). It is very evident that from the legal perspective and by the consensus of the early Muslims, as well as by way of intellect and experience, that the true change of the status of the Ummah occurs when it turns to Allaah and follows the ways that made the early generations successful. Imaam Maalik, rahimahullah, summed it in words few in number, profound in meaning: "Nothing will benefit the Ummah to come except that which benefited the early Ummah." Those who adopt the path of confrontation with the rulers, thinking that the change comes through this way, are trailing the path of misguidance and a path whose consequences proved it wrong by all perspectives. This is the same path taken by the early dissidents (khawaarij) who followed the mutashaabih (not entirely clear) texts instead of following the muhkam (clear) texts and referring whatever may be not entirely clear to that which is mukham. The following of the mutashaabih is a path of fitan (afflictions) that led to the rebellion against the leaders of the sahaabah, and in our times has caused bloodshed and suffering and retardation of da'wah. Allaahul Must'aan(may Allah help us) This matter is a matter of Deen and not a matter of emotions. And since the textual proofs are replete commanding the believers that they must obey those in authority, even if they oppress and take ones wealth, etc As long as they do not command the believer to do sin, then we have no choice but to comply and obey. Otherwise, we will be inventing a new Deen. Allaah, the One Free of all imperfection, the most High says: {Let those beware who withstand the Rasool's () orders, unless some fitnah befalls them or a grievous penalty be inflicted on them. [24:63] "Whatever was not Deen at the time of the Prophet cannot be considered to be a part of the Deen today." [imaam Maalik]. So if the person choses to contend the way of the Messenger, then let him remember the following aayah: [if anyone contends with and opposes the Messenger after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers way, We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell- what an evil destination! [4:115] May Allaah, the most Merciful, guide us all to the truth and make us hold to it and may He, the most High and Majestic, save us all from fitan and guide us (ruled and rulers) to His Path. A glimpse of Tawheed(the oneness of Allah) Intro: The Evidence that of Allaah is Above Creation. Know, may Allaah’s Mercy be upon me and you, that the Attribute of Transcendence (‘uluw) of Allaah, the Exalted, is of two types. Our shaykh, Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen said concerning these types: [(a) The ‘uluw of adh-dhaat The Transcendence of Allaah in His Essence. (b) The ‘uluw of the sifaat: The Transcendence of Allaah’s Attributes. The ‘uluw of adh-dhaat means that Allaah ï‰ in His Essence is above everything, and everything is below Him, Most Majestic and Mighty is He. Regarding the ‘uluw of the sifaat, it means that Allaah is qualified with the superlative qualities as He, the Most High, said: [And for Allaah is the Highest Description. [Qur’aan, soorat an-Nahl (16):60)]. Every Attribute which Allaah qualified Himself with is an Attribute of Perfection and in every respect is free from any kind of imperfection. If you ask: “What is the reason behind this kind of classification? Do you have a proof of it from the Qur’aan or the sunnah? Did you find this in the sayings of the sahaabah? The answer is: “No! But I found it to be necessary when it has been determined that the people of negation (an-nufaat), who themselves are ahlu-ta’teel (those who deny the Attributes), restrict the ‘uluw to the sifaat (qualities) only. They said that Allaah’s Transcendence is in His sifaat only not in His Essence. The people of ta’teel (ahlu-ta’teel) themselves became divided regarding the ‘uluw of adh-dhaat, as discussed below. What is important is that the Imaams of as-salaf-us-saalih ( ï»¢ï»¬ï²ªïº ï·²ïº ) and the scholars who came after resorted to this classification out of necessity because they were tested by the people of ta’teel (who denied the ‘uluw of adh-dhaat), and thus they were obligated to affirm the Transcendence in this way. In fact, if we say “Allaah is the Most High,†and if someone from the people of ta’teel says that, “the ‘uluw here relates to His Attributes,†then what would the common Muslim understand? The only thing he will understand is that Allaah is qualified with the ‘uluw of the sifaat only. But if we say, “Allaah is Most High in His sifaat as well as in His Essence,†the common Muslim would understand this meaning. In fact, the first thing that is obvious to the common Muslim is that Allaah’s ‘uluw concerns His Essence. Certainly the ‘uluw of the sifaat is part of the meaning of the ‘uluw. In their denial of the ‘uluw of Allaah’s in His Essence, the people of ta’teel were divided into two groups: The first group: They said that Allaah, in His Essence, is everywhere. The second group: They said, “He is neither in ‘uluw (loftiness) nor in sufl (opposite of ‘uluw: lowness); He is neither inside the world nor outside it; neither to the right nor to the left; neither joined nor separate. This position is absolute ta’teel (negation) because it is a description of al-’adam (non-existence). Some scholars said, “If we were asked to describe al-’adam we would not find a more comprehensive definition than this description [of theirs].†So contemplate as to how their negation of what has been affirmed by the way of naql (texts) and ‘aql (rational) led them to say that which cannot be accepted neither by sensory perception (hiss), nor by naql or ‘aql. The Proofs for the ‘uluw (Transcendence) of Allaah We have explained earlier that the ‘uluw of Allaah is proven by the way of the kitaab (the Book, i.e. the Qur’aan), the sunnah, ijmaa’ (general consensus of the salaf), ‘aql, and fitrah. The proofs of the Book and sunnah are diverse. Sometimes indicating the absolute ‘uluw. Other times indicating al-Fawqiyyah (above): the descent of things from Him, and their ascent to Him; and sometimes by saying that He is in heavens. (1) In the case of absolute‘uluw like in the saying of Allaah ï•: [He [Allaah] is the Most High, the Most Great. And make tasbeeh [declaring that Allaah is far removed above all imperfection] of your Rabb, the Most High, above everything. [Qur’aan, soorat al-A’laa (87:1)]. Others state the Fawqiyyah [Allaah being above creation], as in Allaah’s saying: [and He [Allaah] is al-Qaahir above His slaves. [Qur’aan, soorat al-An’aam (6:18)]. And in His Saying: [They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded..[Qur’aan, soorat an-Nahl (16: 50)]. [And(remember) when Allaah said: O `Eesa (Jesus)! I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you (of the forged statement that ‘Eesa (Jesus) is Allaah's son) of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (Monotheists, who worship none but Allaah) superior to those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allaah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, e.g. Muhammad ‘Eesa (Jesus), Musa (Moses), etc., or in His Holy Books, e.g. the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Qur'aan) till the Day of Resurrection. [Qur’aan, soorat aal-‘Imraaan (3:55)]. Allaah’s Saying: ﻚﻌﻓïºïºï» ï± ï±„ïº‡ indicates that the one to whom ‘Eesa is being raised is qualified with the Attribute of ‘uluw (Transcendence). Shaykh bin ‘Uthaymeen ( ï»ªï²ªïº ï·²ïº ) commented: if someone says that what is intended here is that Allaah is raising him in rank, then our response is: “This is incorrect, because the raising here has been followed with the letter ï»™ kaaf which is specific to the process of raising, raising the body (of ‘Eesa), not the raising of his rank. So, this is a proof for the Allaah’s Transcendence of al-Fawqiyyah (being above creation). Some aayaat (verses) mention the su’ood (ascent) of things up to Him ï•: To Him ascend [all] the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it [the goodly words, i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allaah unless and until they are followed by good deeds]. [Qur’aan, soorat Faatir (35:10)]. The angels and the rooh [Jibreel ïµ] ascend to Him. [Qur’aan, soorat al-Ma’aarij (70:4)]. Sometimes the Qur’aan mentions the descent of things from Him ï‰: [He [Allaah] arranges [every] affair from the heavens to the earth. [Qur’aan, soorat as-Sajdah (32:5)]. Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the thikr [i.e. the Qur’aan]. [Qur’aan, soorat al-Hijr (15:9)]. In the Qur’aan there is also the affirmation that Allaah ï‰ is above the heavens: Do you feel secure that He, who is above the heaven [Allaah], will not cause the earth to sink. [Qur’aan, soorat al-Mulk (67:16)]. In addition to the above aayaat, there are many other references in the Qur’aan which affirm the ‘uluw of Allaah. (2) Similarly the sunnah affirms Allaah’s ‘uluw in His Essence by way of saying, action, and approval. The affirmation in the saying is as in the statement of the Prophet (ï²): Our Rabb is Allaah Who is above the heaven...†And in his action as when he pointed towards the heavens when he said: “O! Allaah be witness [saying it thrice],†before the greatest assembly of Muslims then. As to his approval, the Prophet asked a slave girl: "Where is Allaah?" She replied: “Above the heavens.†He then ordered her master, “Grant her freedom, because she is a believer.†So, this slave girl knows that her Rabb (Allaah) is above the heavens while the misguided of the children of Adam deny that Allaah is above the heavens and say that he is neither above the world nor below it, nor to the left or to the right! or that they say He is everywhere!! The prophet not only accepted her answer, but also affirmed that she is a believer based upon her correct response. (3) As for the ijmaa’ (consensus), it is acknowledged that the salaf are in agreement that Allaah is above His ‘arsh. No one among them had ever said that He is everywhere or that He is neither above the world nor below it, or that He is neither to the right nor to the left, or that He is neither separated from the world nor ssociated with it, or that it is not permissible to physically point to Allaah (i.e. in the upward direction). (4) On the other hand, the proof of the ‘aql (intellect), has two angles to it: 1. The ‘uluw is an attribute of perfection and therefore being as such necessitates that it is an affirmed attribute of Allaah because Allaah is qualified with the attributes of perfection from every angle. 2. For the sake of argument, if we say that, “Allaah is either above the world or under it or on its right or left,†then which of these descriptions denote perfection? The answer is, “Allaah is above the world,†because if he is “under it†then He would be less perfect than the created! And if He is in the same place as the created, then Allaah Jala wa cala would be equal to creation in perfection. Thus it is necessitated that Allaah is above everything. In addition, there is no doubt that Allaah, the Most Magnificent, the Most Mighty, is not in the “below†or amongst us, because this would necessitate that some of His creation is above Him or with him. So, if this is impossible, then by all means to Allaah belongs the perfect Transcendence above creation and the perfect Rank and complete authority. (5) Finally, as far as the fitrah (natural inclination or disposition) is concerned, each person naturally acknowledges the fact that Allaah is above the heavens. That is why whenever a person supplicates His Rabb (Allaah) he (she) takes refuge towards the direction of the sky (i.e. upward). In this regard it is noteworthy to mention that because Abul Ma’aali al- Juwayyni, may Allaah bestow His Mercy upon him and forgive him, denied the ascending of Allaah above the ‘arsh (istiwaa’ ‘ala al-’arsh) and the ‘uluw of Allaah in His Essence, he had decided that, “Allaah was and there was nothing, and He is now as He ever has been,†denying the istiwaa’ ‘ala al-’arsh. Abul ‘Alaa al-Hamadaani, may Allaah bestow His mercy upon him, said, “Teacher! There is no need to mention the ‘arsh. Just tell us about this necessity which we find within ourselves: Whenever an ‘aarif (one who knows of Allaah) says: ‘O! Allaah,’ he finds within his heart a compelling intent aspiring upward? Al-Juwayyni slapped his hands against his head screaming, “Al-Hamadani rendered me perplexed. Al-Hamadaani rendered me perplexed.†He was unable to respond because the matter is natural and cannot be denied. The strange thing is that those who deny the Transcendence of Allaah themselves raise their hands upward in the direction of the heavens when they invoke Allaah. I do not know of the situation of the person who believes that Allaah is everywhere in His Essence or that He is not inside the world nor outside it or He is neither above nor below, how is he going to face His Rabb on the Day of Resurrection? Clarification of Some Verses First Verse: [Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allaah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, and then it should quake? Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allaah), will not sendagainst you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning. [Qur’aan, soorat al-Mulk (67:16-17)]. The One Who is Fee as-Samaa’ (read: fis-Samaa’: above the heavens) is Allaah. This is evidence that Allaah, Himself, is above the heavens. It remains to be clarified that the preposition fee (ï°²) is, linguistically, a term that denotes tharfiyyah: the quality of denoting place, or time, adverbially, by a noun implying the meaning of the preposition fee; Also, according to some, by a noun together with that preposition. So, fis-Samaa’ (fee heavens): if fee is a term denoting tharfiyyah, then this would imply that Allaah is enveloped by the heavens. Such apparent implication is futile since we certainly know that it is not the intended meaning (i.e. Allaah is “in†heavens), because it is impossible that apparently understood meanings of the Qur’aan and/or Sunnah are futile. So what is the answer regarding this issue? The scholars answered by either one of the following ways: 1-That the term as-Samaa’ here means al-‘uluw (being over), something which is not only linguistically sound, but it is mentioned in the Qur’aan with such meaning. Allaah, the Most High, says regarding the sending of rain: [He sends down water (rain) from as-Samaa’ and the valleys flow totheir measure. [Qur’aan, soorat ar-Ra’d (13:17)], that is from above, since raincomes down from the clouds, not from the sky which is a safe and wellguarded roof [Qur'aan, soorat al-Anbiyyaa', (21:32)]: “And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded†[Qur’aan, soorat al-Anbiyaa’, (21: 32)] Therefore, the meaning of fis-Samaa’ is the One Who is above, nothing is above or adjacent to Him, everything is below Him. 2-Or, that fee means over. In this case as-samaa’ is the lofty, safe and well guarded heavenly bodies (al-ajraam as-samaawiyyah). From the linquistic view as well as in the Qur’anic text, the term fee is used to mean: “on.†In the Qur’aan, Fir’awn (the Pharoah) said to his magicians who rejected him and believed in Allaah: "And I will surely crucify you on the trunks of date-palms. [Qur’aan, sooratTaaha (20:71)] Similarly in the saying of Allaah: [say (O Muhammad ï²): Travel in the land and see what the end of thosewho rejected truth was. [Qur’aan, soorat al-An’aam (6:11)]. Certainly, the term fee (in the land) means “on†it.So, the meaning of fis-samaa’ is One Who is over the heavens. And therefore, after these clarifications, there should be no problem walhamdulillaah. In Conclusion From the above evidences it is concluded that: 1-The knowledge of Allaah being above the creation is an ingrained matter in our fitrah. 2-Since Allaah, His Messenger, and the righteous predecessors have affirmed the ‘uluw of Allaah, then it is not accepted from anyone to come and say that it is impossible for Allaah, in His Essence, to be above creation, because had it been so, it would imply such and such. Because had there been any kind a false implication in the textual proofs, Allaah and/or His Messenger would have clarified them. But since they do not imply such arguments, then they are true and affirm the correct meaning of ‘uluw. Therefore the evidences refute both the hulooliyyah and the mu’atilah who negate this Attribute of Allaah ﻰﻟﺎﻌﺗ. The hulooliyyah say, “Allaah is not above everything but rather He is everywhere.†And the Mu’attilah, the people who deny Allaah’s Attributes, say, “He cannot be described as being High or low, to the left or the right, or as being separated from or associated with His creation.†4-The ‘uluw of Allaah is Eternally affirmed to Him, the Most High. He is always above everything before the creation of the Throne. It is not imperative that not ascending the Throne is a proof of non-transcendence. He is always qualified with the absolute ‘uluw, and after creating the heavens and the earth, He arose above the Throne. The latter is a special ‘uluw. And Allaah, the Most Perfect in His Actions, does what He wishes. This does not imply any imperfection, since all of His actions are perfect. Authored By Dr.Saleh As Saleh

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah The Prophet, salaallaahu `alayhi wa sallam said, A Muslim who is killed in a battle is a martyr, (dying in) plague is artyrdom, a woman who dies while delivering a baby is a martyr. [Ahmad, Daarimee, Tiyaalisee, authenticated by Al-Albaanee] The Prophet, salaallaahu `alayhi wa sallam said, The martyrs are seven, other than the one who is killed in the Way of Allaah, ta`aalaa: - One who dies of plague, - one who drowns, - one who dies of pleurisy, - one who dies of stomach ache, - one who dies due to burning - one who dies under a demolition (by accident) - a woman who dies with a baby in her womb [Maalik, Aboo Dawood, An-Nasaaee, Ibn Maajah, Ibn Hibban, Haakim, Ahmad. Authenticated by al-Albaanee] The Prophet, salaallaahu `alayhi wa sallam said: - "Getting killed in the Path of Allaah ta`aalaa is martyrdom, - [death in] confinement during childbirth is martyrdom, - [death by] getting burned [by accident] is martyrdom, - [death by] drowning [by accident] is martyrdom, - [death due to] tuberculosis is martyrdom, - [death due to] stomach ache is martyrdom." Inshallah if you have anything relevant to the topic at hand I would be more then happy to address it if i feel there is a need for it. 2. I have read extensively on the "Taiful Mansoor" "Th save sect" from Ibn Taymiyah, Imam Ahmed, Hasan al Basri, and Salaf. My simple challenge to you is can you provide proof that the first three generation did not believe in the save sect. Viking, your observations are but mere opinions, the first three generation who understood this deen took it literal. Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allâh and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment. Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allâh), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allâh and His Messengers. That is the Grace of Allâh which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allâh is the Owner of Great Bounty.

Christian group may seek to ban Qur'an Stephen Bates and Julian Glover Wednesday October 12, 2005 The Guardian A Protestant evangelical pressure group has warned that it will try to use the government's racial and religious hatred law to prosecute bookshops selling the Qur'an for inciting religious hatred. Christian Voice, a fringe fundamentalist group which first came to public prominence this year when it campaigned against the BBC's broadcasting of Jerry Springer The Opera, was among the evangelical organisations taking part in a 1,000-strong demonstration against the bill outside parliament yesterday as the House of Lords held a second reading debate on the measure. Article continues Its director, Stephen Green, said the organisation would consider taking out prosecutions against shops selling the Islamic holy book. He told the Guardian: "If the Qur'an is not hate speech, I don't know what is. We will report staff who sell it. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that unbelievers must be killed." The sectarian organisation's tactics have regularly appalled other Christian groups. Its website proclaims its right to protect its own freedom of speech in attacking other religious groups: MPs "have no right to try to stifle our freedom to preach the gospel. It is not just Islam which is the problem. If a preacher is explaining the horrors of Hinduism ... a charge of stirring up religious hatred would be almost inevitable. Preaching against sin in general, or adultery or homosexuality in particular, may also land a preacher in court." The bill has seen a wide range of Christian groups making common cause with secularists. Yesterday the Catholic church, while welcoming the measure in principle, expressed doubts about the drafting of the legislation, as have Church of England bishops. A Church of England spokesman said: "We regard the test of stirring up hatred to be a strong one which would be unlikely to penalise preachers or comedians going about their normal business. However, we wish to be reassured that the formulation of the offence will distinguish clearly between words and actions which incite hatred and expressions of opinion which are merely controversial or offensive." During yesterday's Lords debate the former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey said that it "threatens civil liberties". "I am troubled by the bill before us and feel that rather than strengthening the social fabric of our society it would weaken it. It has the potential to drive a wedge between the Muslim community and the rest of us," he said. He was joined in opposing the measure by the Bishop of Winchester and the former Lord Chancellor Lord Mackay, who questioned its failure to define religious belief. But the lord chancellor, Lord Falconer, told the upper house that "the bill will not have the impact on freedom of speech which opponents say it will. Incitement to religious hatred represents a gap in the criminal law and it is right that it be filled." Most of the Christian running against the bill has been made by evangelical groups. Allahu Musta'an.

Fatawaa on the Pillars of Islam By Sheikh Muhammad Bin Saleh Al-Uthaaymen رØمه الله P.116 Q.58: It is mentioned that there will be virgins of Paradise for the men in Paradise, so what is there for the women? Answer: Allah the Blessed the Most High says about the blessings of the people of paradise: ‘…therein you shall have what you souls desire and therein you shall have what you ask for. An entertainment from the Oft-Forgiving, the Bestower of Mercy’ (Surah Fussilat 41: 31-32) And He the Most High says: ‘…and therein is all that the souls desire and all that the eyes can delight in and you will abide therein forever.’ (Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:71) And it is known that marriage is from the most intense (of things) which the souls desire. So, it will take place in Paradise for the people of Paradise, whether they be males or females. And (as for) the woman, Allah the Blessed the Most High will marry her off in Paradise to her husband in the world, as Allah the Blessed, the Most High says: ‘Our Lord, and make them enter the everlasting gardens which you have promised them and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives and their offspring. Indeed you are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.’ (Surah Gaafir 40:8) And if she did not marry in the world, then indeed Allah the Most High will marry her off to what is pleasing to her in Paradise.

Ya Akhee the statement is clear from Aisha, her words"among the ansars" its not exclusive to them. It simply means these three men are found among the Ansar and no one can excel them in virtue! Its a bid fishy! I sincerely think people should reference their answers!
