The day when members of the ICU start a motioin to register their disgust with Sharif Ahmed or Hassan Dahir is when I can say the ICU are somewhere near the TFG. That is my take of democracy between ICU and TFG. On the other hand I keep raising this point but no one seems to bother to notice it. TFG is a united Somali clans while the ICU is a single clan of Somalia. Thus what is the negotiating factor amid these two entities. In other words ICU have taken over the power seat of Qanyare, Sudi, Catto, Xaran-ku-naax, Maxamed Dhere (this affects Geedi's position) and Hussein Aideed. Hence shouldn't the ICU only be expected to fill these positions or do they want more? The point that they pacified Mogadishu is irrelevant cause they have doen something they should have done or their brethens should have done, simply cause it was a mess created by them before. The dismantling of TFG on the assumption of negotiating with the ICU for a broader agreement is short sighted vision if not a grave mis-calculation.

Duke the whole of Somalia does not centre around Mogadishu. Mogadishu was not safe before due to conflicts among one of the major clans in Somalia, it is safe now cause of an uprising within it and for the better, Alxamdulillah. Now to say they have sorted themselves does mean that the rest of the somali clans have to sit around them and be dictated. There has to be a reconciling factor and that is the TFG formed in Nairobi. Thus the ICU has to recede to this entity if it is genuine in its intention. If we are to follow as you are saying it means that the TFG should disperse and its members integrate to the ICU. That my friend is illogical, the vice versa is logical. The ICU should come clean and state its position in Somali politics, and they should bear in mind it is not representative of the whole of Somalia. And Mogadishu alone is not Somalia. The legal gfovernment that exists in Somalia today and that has the support of whole of Somalia is the TFG, it may be weak but it is certainly not irrelevant.

Duke I thought you were older than me and thus have some experience in Somali politics, I obviously over estimated you. Widayo I think you agree with me that any somali politics is tribally based whether in TFG or ICU, right? Now sxb ICU claim to be in an umbrella of relgious courts yet divided into clans. But it is well known secret who the over whelming dominant clan in the ICU is , right? So, Qanyare, Muse Sudi, Botan Cisse, Maxamed Dhere, Bashir Rage, Abdirashid Iley, Abdi Qeybdiid, however much warlords they are they at least have a following and control among their clans. If they can prove to the rest of their clans that they can get a better share of the cake in the TFG rather than the ICU you will be minimising the general support and momuntum one the ICU gathered in a short period. I think that is the chess move C/llahi Yusuf is playing for, to make the TFG more stronger nationally and prove that ICU is balayoi Indhacadde, Sheikh Aweys ,et al.
