  2. ^Oodweyne..Yeey will go down in history as the one who brought Somalia's arch enemy to our shores literally, and watched them annahilate Somalia's capital ( the very center of Somali world) and its people. History will not look back at him kindly, and sadly, he has little to show for betrating his country and people. He was traitor when he fled after coup, and he is traitor now. Many Somalis were and are in bed with the enemy including your little enclave, but nobody has ever gone as far as he did. And as far as mixing different events in Somalia is concerned, there is continuum to the Somali conflict, and one just look at one thing just to make a point, and I don't know share sweeping condemnation of particular. It is just more than that. It is something about the Somali character that one need to look at, not just focus on particular traitor. Afterall, Sheikh Sharif and Nur Cadde are today begging to stay, who would have thought? Anyway, we have heard and seen your opinion of Yeey, and Puntland, but what is it that Somaliland and reer Mogadisho have done for Somalinimo for past 20yrs?.Afterall, Somalinimo is as much of your responsibility as one else's.
  3. Why do people look to others to find out what they need to do? It must be innate human nature.
  4. And there lie the bodies By Gideon Levy The legend, lest it be a true story, tells of how the late mathematician, Professor Haim Hanani, asked his students at the Technion to draw up a plan for constructing a pipe to transport blood from Haifa to Eilat. The obedient students did as they were told. Using logarithmic rulers, they sketched the design for a sophisticated pipeline. They meticulously planned its route, taking into account the landscape's topography, the possibility of corrosion, the pipe's diameter and the flow calibration. When they presented their final product, the professor rendered his judgment: You failed. None of you asked why we need such a pipe, whose blood will fill it, and why it is flowing in the first place. Regardless of whether this story is legend or true, Israel is now failing its own blood pipeline test. As Israel has been preoccupied with Gaza throughout the entire week, nobody has asked whose blood is being spilled and why. Everything is permitted, legitimate and just. The moral voice of restraint, if it ever existed, has been left behind. Even if Israel wiped Gaza off the face of the earth, killing tens of thousands in the process, as a Chechnyan laborer working in Sderot proposed to me, one can assume that there would be no protest. They liquidated Nizar Ghayan? Nobody counts the 20 women and children who lost their lives in the same attack. There was a massacre of dozens of officers during their graduation ceremony from the police academy? Acceptable. Five little sisters? Allowed. Palestinians are dying in hospitals that lack medical equipment? Peanuts. Whatever happened to the not-so-good old days of Salah Shahadeh? When we liquidated him in July 2002, we also killed 15 women and children. At least back then, moral qualms were raised for a moment. Here lie their bodies, row upon row, some of them tiny. Our hearts have turned hard and our eyes have become dull. All of Israel has worn military fatigues, uniforms that are opaque and stained with blood and which enable us to carry out any crime. Even our leading intellectuals fail to speak out on what havoc we have wreaked. Amos Oz urges: "Cease-fire now." David Grossman writes: "Hold your fire. Stop." Meir Shalev wants "a punitive operation." And not one word about our moral image, which has been horribly distorted. The suffering in the south renders everything kosher, as if the horrible suffering in Gaza pales in comparison. Everyone is hungry for revenge, and that hunger is excused by the need for "deterrence," after it was already proved that the killing and the destruction in Lebanon did not achieve it. Yes, I know, war is war. After all, they brought this on themselves. They are a terrorist organization and we are not. They want to destroy us and we seek peace. Still, is there nothing here that will stop this blood pipeline? Even those whose hearts are hardened by "moral righteousness" will have to momentarily halt the bombing machine and ask: Which Israel do we have before us? What will become of its standing in the world, which is now watching the events in Gaza? What are we inflicting on the moderate Arab regimes? And what of the simmering popular hatred we are sowing throughout the world? What good will emerge from this killing and destruction? It is doubtful whether Hamas will be cut down to size as a result of this wretched war. Yet, the face of the state has been cut down to size, as have civilian elites who are apathetic and scared. The "peace camp," if it ever existed, has been cut down to size. Attorney General Menachem Mazuz authorized the Ghayan killing, regardless of the cost. Haim Oron, the leader of the "new left-wing movement," supported the launch of this foolish war. Nobody is coming to the rescue - of Gaza or even of the remnants of humanity and Israeli democracy. The statesmen, the jurists, the poets, the authors, academe, and the news media - pitch black over the abyss. When the time comes for reckoning, we will need to remember the damage this war did to Israel: The blood pipeline it laid has been completed.

Rwanda genocide was self-inflicted, I guess those people whose bloated bodies were floating on the river don't deserve your sympathy then.
  6. ^I was out when Somalia was invaded, when people were being bombarded, and when Somalis are on brink on starvation. I tried to bring groups, so we could do something for our people. All I get from my fellow Somalis was contempt. And this is only pro Palestinian demo I have been to.
  7. ^So, injustices by Somalis on Somalis should be tolerated cuz we share same ethnicity? Instinct-Poet...Any decent human being should find what's happening in Gaza sickening, and should prompted to act. They are raping Palestinians simply cuz they can. This disproportionate reaction is meant to only demonstrate that. Everybody should outraged whether Palestinians were Muslims, Christians or Jewish. It is matter of moral decency.
  8. We are pushing for bigger crowd next time, contacting many groups including mosques, synagogues, and churches. There are many students group, trade unionists, and average people. And hopefully, others movements like Darfur, and Tibet would join. I think directly supporting the resistance would be the way to go.
  9. Looks like Ilka Jiir might be the next guy to lead. Wondering who would be ku-xugeenka?
  10. They cut of the traffic everywhere we went in downtown Boston. We chanted and yelled, but it mounted to nothing at the end of the day. It is good to live in country where you could express your sentiments..Whole the way through, people were yelling "Down with Israel, Israel is terrorist state". But again nothing would come out of it as the powerful Jewish lobbyist has every US politician in palms. They weren't too many us, few hundreds at best, hopefully it will be bigger next time. Please write to your congressman and woman. Check if they are divestment movements in your towns.
  11. Xiin...What an individual thinks of a particular group is irrlevent to the political discourse. Duke...Dagaal iyo buuto kama dhaashid?
  12. ^She was on the passenger side telling about the day I was born, and how she remembered as little kid...Come on heaven's sake..I must have winked her as kid. Serenity..She did on the way back. I don't know what I did to the woman...very weird behavior! My Eedo needs to get new friends.
  13. Serenity..It is not about a woman that I'm dating. It was someone I had to pick up at the request of my Eedo. She literally left me in the cold while she took her time to dress up. Wouldn't let me in the house cuz her husband wasn't at home. Very dumb thing to say considering she was alone with me in the car
  14. ^LoooooL@Intel They could be mean spirited.

Originally posted by Oodweyne: Mr. Che , And, if it’s the case, that others in some future date, will try to follow the same "political route" that these folks of “pirate-land” have hitherto tried, so mighily and failed so miserably, particularly with the hope of thinking to have another round of trying to have “their cake and eat it” ; then I am sure of it, that what have eventually became of Col. Yey political grand delusion, as it were, will also be a lesson to them, at that time, as well… Somalis are not gullible people, but they lack appreciation for history, I'm generalizing here. It wasn't too long ago the late Aidid, a product of the Barre era who in his delusional state believed you could subdue Somalia, and in manner befitting an emperor have the masses singing his praises while MiG jet fighters fly over the taranbuuka. His grandiose delusions led to the 'purification' of Xamer Cadeey, and the mass starvation of three hundred thousands Somalis in Bay/Bakool. He died without answering for his crimes, and left his son to take the reign. Forward to 2004, Aidid Jr was prancing around in the very city where his father personally oversaw the murder of many decent Somalis. Now where in the world would this be allowed to happen? The point here is there is no personal culpability in the Somali conflicts. Those that lead us perpetuate injustice (of course, alot times with our blessings),but people he represent takes rap for his crimes. You are left with condemning his tribe or region he hails from. That's all you get in the name of justice. Tell me if there was any Somali leader tried for his crimes. Hundreds of thousands perished, and no one held responsible for their demise. And I don't have to tell the thousands that died in Waqooyi Galbeed. Those who committed the crimes walked away, and again, all you are left with is condemning their tribe, and praising the heroic SNM, but nothing for thousands that are six feet under. Those criminals live though not in the best of conditions, but they are breathing. I digress, but the point here is whether particular political agenda is perpetuated again depends on how we treated those that first tried that agenda. The way it looks right now, Yeey and his supporters will get away with their crimes, and live to fight another day. One could condemn Puntland as much as they please, but time changes the reality in Somalia, and as faith would have, Yeey treasonous act would just be slur thrown at his tribe just like Duke says you are the queen's children or mention Faisal Waraabe's st*pidty. And cuz no one was held responsible, other figures would rise to try same agenda or variation of it. And we will be having the same discussions some years away. As for the concept of Somalinimo, it is just that a concept. I must note everyone has something to sell all in the name of Somalinimo of course
  16. ^They tried and failed. It is that simple. We shall see how the rest of race fair.
  17. Ibtisam ...Every group will defend their man whether he is guilty or not. I doubt Yeey will answer for his crimes. He will retire comfortably in Garowe, and die peacefully. Of course, Puntlanders will make all this possible!!!!
  18. They will simply focus on the home front and regroup for the time being. They have little influence left in the south, and will have little bearing on what goes on there. Their future in south will likely depend on how good or bad things turn out in Somalia.
  19. ^He was an obstacle to TFG success, and Nur Cadde's quest for peace, but he is not the root of Somalia's problem. He might be one factor. P.S. I don't know about you, but the TFG as entity couldn't be considered patner in peace. And I don't see a Somali leader with national following
  20. ^He was merely symptom, not the root of problem but making him the center of attention misses the point. They are others who are ready to fill his shoes!
  21. ^I try to be pragmatic and bit hopeful laakin what are you optimistic about?
  22. ^Take it easy, you are just instigator.Itis the people who takes the bait that falls in this category. Save some energy for the new stooges that's going to be crowned!
  23. ^I guess little kicks for the simple minded...Go on then!
