  1. ^I share your sentiment. It is history and leap forward for minorities in America, but nothing more than that. America's outlook on the world won't change, just how the language of diplomacy is framed would be adjusted, no more Bush's "bring it on". He has alot of leeway when it comes to domestic issues, but it has little control over foriegn policy-presidents only execute what establishment sets.
  2. ^It's definately celebration for African Americans who endured humiliation and the legacy of slavery!!! I'm also glad his wife is black woman-celebration for African women who endured centuries of abuse and rape from the white majority and also abuse and abandonment from their own.
  3. ^You too? Honeys attracted to power
  4. ^I'm not as optimistic, but definately one shouldn't downplay the historic nature of ascendence to the top job!!

  6. Originally posted by Norf 1 Al Filastini: The speech was good. If he/America make good on half of the promises it will be a good thing. Regarding policies towards the rest of the world, those promises are just that promises!
  7. Norf-I'm stuck at work Saaxib, but the country is euphoric all yesterday and this morning when I left home. So many parties tonite in Boston and all over the States, no president ever came close to what's in America today. So much responsibilty on his shoulder, and so many things expected from him since America is at a crossroad. To me what's important, blacks and other minorities including recent immigrants like us won't feel secluded even though not too many doors will open right away. Alot employees are downstairs watching the speech. I'm just gonna catch the rerun tonite. There is streaming online videos on BBC , and all American channels.
  8. Why? apart from the historic signifance of course. What's with all the gals?
  9. We hav new president. LoooooooooL@Norf...With the comment you made,American kids feel smarter right about now
  10. ^Meesha kakac baan kulahaa ee waan ku gobaabinaye adna aflagaado iila dhaqaaqde. Wayfarer...Yup he is beholden to those who put him in power, the j establishment decides the foriegn policy which is reviewed every ten years, and adjusted accordingly if that becomes necessary.
  11. Wayfarer-He sounds like broken record now, same theme everytime with exactly words, but hopefully this address would be different instead we need "change' mantra. Obama will be for good domestic front, but no substantive change on foriegn just cosmetic changes.
  12. Hi Val, N I get here now. A&T...Stop hating the guy. But funny story happened in Boston regarding Somali girl and African American guy she was dating. I fall off my chair when I heard it.
  13. There is Obama overload. Actually people here are holding parties, I'm off to work though.
  14. Duke...I'm not one who cheered when the Ethios were blowing Somalis to bits...Far from it, I don't advocate murder, but I don't think people who accept injustice which Puntland's flawed system promotes. I want equal footing for all those that have stake in this place or just you just wanna monopoly to fill people's bellies.
  15. Yes, Caamir the W family spoken, and I'm glad that they want to stick around and demand change, not just take the easy way out.I'm hopeful reer Sool and the rest of M family will demand change. Three problems facing Puntland are lack of political equity among member clans, the elite old guard passing baton to each other, and the obvious social/security/economic problems.
  16. ^You picked the on wrong tone, anyhow how does any change a system by joining it. That's unlikely to happen. If you know of any instances where that is/was the case, please let me know. The idea here is to create an alternative. That will be hard to do if every viable candidate that run for the presidency join the winner's ticket. What is the whole point of contesting?

I don't propose any violent or destabilizing agenda, but it is good these men didn't join Faroole's admin if they don't believe what he stands for or are politically opposed to him. NinBrown...He won.I'm not disputing that. Xiin..N very typical of you to question my intentions, wouldn't you say?
  18. Daba-dhi-lifka bee dhaamaan that's for sure
  19. LooooooooooooooL@Ayeeyo Yup Al-Shabaab are cowards who kick a well armed, well financed, well trained Tigrey army to the curb. And by the way, wouldn't the masked face make them more visible just like red coats in the American revolutionary war. It makes them easier to spot them that's if you wanna engage. And their leaders are out in the public Roobow, Godane, Turki, Saadiq, etc.
  20. ^It is hot in Somalia. Unlike Brad, they can't afford sunscrean. Besides, covering your faces gives manly rugged look
