Do you think terrorists burned Jigjiga, Hargeysa, Bosaso, Xamar, Garissa, and other Somali markets? Who do you think the terrorists are and what are their end goals?

Next Ethiopian War: Eritrea/Amhara vs Tigray/Abiy

Arafaat, I am not rooting for any particular group. Ethiopia as a state will always be hostile to Somalis regardless of who is running the government, whether be Oromo, Amhara, or Tigray. Having said that, I do believe Ethiopia is slowly descending to tribal warfare which is very consequential for the region. No particular group has enough resources and military power to subdue the whole country. Temporary alliances are bound to fail. These alliances are not based on idealogy or any higher purpose. As soon as Tigrains were defeated, I knew Amhara and Abiy will turn on each other. And for the first time, Amharas are contemplating a country of their own. The best possible solution is Ethiopia with true autonomous regional governments whose border issues are resolved and genuine reconciliation initiated at regional and subsequently federal levels. You are right about Abiy. The only way he can stay in power is to reconcile Oromo, Afar, and Somalis. It would also be helpful for him if he allows more nations from Southern regions to form their own regions like Sidama. The Gurage Zone, Wolayita Zone, and many zones in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region want to become their own autonomous regions. Abiy can facilitate that and can count on their support. -
There are three groups within the secessionists. The first group is comprised of arrogant and obnoxious types that are currently in power. The second group is the largest; they sincerely believed in the Republic of Somaliland as functioning state and majority of reer Sool as unwillingly members of the state. This group is hardest hit by the events in Sool. They really bought into the idea of Somaliland and were dumbfounded when they realized Sland is just another region as there is no mighty army, sophisticated elite and vibrant economy. The final group is the closest to reality. As Somalis, they appreciate the nature of Somalis, hence they understood no clan can impose their will on another regardless if one clan sees itself as a state or not. This group called for the removal troops from Goojacade from day one. Judging from his comments, Xaaji is in the first group though I personally think he is in shock.

Somaliland: Operation Clean up Laascaanood (Loading...)

The last Sland troops in Sanaaag apart from Isak inhibited areas were in Yubbe. Those troops were relocated once the war started. The majority of Sland troops in Sool are holed up in Goojacade, nothing in Taleex, Xudun, Boocame and forget about Buhoodle. Kalshaale taught Sland not to bother reer Buhoodle. -
