  1. Galbeedi , Puntland get the go-ahead from the Federal Government. So is the case with Berbera DP World takeover. The opposition is to the military base. No one wants to make such investment and face legal complications later. Farmaajo is going to Dubai soon to settle the issue. Rumor has it that Farmaajo wants the UAE to contribute the federal budget in exchange for access.
  2. I am not very hopeful. At the end of the day, only Somalis can defeat AS.

  6. The US declared Somalia is war zone meaning the military has free rein. And today Farmajo declared Somalia is war zone. Something is in the works.
  7. Trump has no morality. It seems to me that traditional forces are taking root in the administration. Steve Bannon was kicked out of NSC. He threatened to resign from the administration. I think Mattis ,Dunford and McMaster are asserting themselves.
  8. Traditional leaders used to be peacekeepers. This guy should give his title and join politics or he should shut his pie hole.
  9. Pence is too tainted though I get the feeling he might not be privy to a lot of things. He is serious evangelical but hardly pro-Russian. He might become the president for the remainder of the term. Regarding the Freedom Caucus, they don't fear anyone as their districts are safe. Steve Bannon thought he could bully them into voting for the ACA. According to media outlets, Steve said to them in meeting ,“this is not a discussion. This is not a debate. You have no choice but to vote for this bill.” A congressman at the meeting replied, “You know, the last time someone ordered me to something, I was 18 years old. And it was my daddy. And I didn’t listen to him, either.” Trump, Bannon and their ilk really thought they could bully the freedom caucus who themselves are nutjobs.
  10. Hehe@Galbeedi, I beat you by a bit. I knew things were becoming difficult for Flynn the day House Intelligence Committee held the open hearing with James Comey. I realized Flynn was done when former CIA director James Woolsey came out with the story that Flynn and two Turkish officials approached him. There was a discussion on how they can smuggled (kidnap) Fet Gulen out of the country. Woolsey stated that he left as soon as he realized what was being discussed. If you remember he resigned from Trump team thought he claimed he was never really part of them. He was merely advising them. The Trump wanted him because of his reputation. Woolsey was a board member of Flynn's Consulting firm. He noted that he had little to do with the firm in terms of day to day operations. Things start coming apart when Flynn registered himself as foreign agent and he apparently did registered Woolsey without his knowledge or consent. On the House side, they have found out who were Nune's sources. The man lost all credibility. At this point, America might end up having Ryan as the president. You have to get to admire Putin though. The Russians have managed to undermine Western institutions in fundamental way using the least resources. Their propaganda machine is simply amazing.
  11. Breaking News: General Flynn wants immunity in exchange for testifying. The plot thickens!
  12. Black-eyed peas. A Splinter Or break things into fragments.
  13. The Minister of Finance is the bone of contention. Apparently, some thought it is God- given right to be appointed to this important ministerial portfolio.
  14. Reminds of Hilary and Russia lol.
  15. The money was only three million. And from I understand, this is the first phase. In any case, for small town in the middle of nowhere, this is good beginning. Ceel Dahir Cerigaabo road will also be reaching Baran.
  16. It seems Somaliland governments use ictiraaf raadin as an excuse to not to address social and economic problems. A stable political entity that existed for 25 years should be able to manage recurring droughts.
  17. I am not against building the mosque but it seems a lot of resources that could have gone to classes, labs, etc was spent on this.
  18. http://www.jowhar.com/2017/03/15/wasiir-diini-oo-kormeer-ku-tagay-xerada-milateri-ee-turkiga-ka-dhistay-deegaanka-jazeera/ When elephants fight it is the grass that suffers. We have no business in partaking in this new geopolitical game.
  19. The severe drought in Somalia and other Somali regions is entering next phase, full-blown famine. Please stand up and help!
  20. Mintid, She's indeed qualified, one of the few people that actually know what they are doing. Her international exposure is a plus. Somalia needs a sound monetary policy.
  21. What does Somaliland Constitution say about these extensions? Can members of the Parliament (who I assume haven't stood for election in long time) unilaterally extend their term and that of the Government? Could this be challenged in the Supreme Court?
