The Somalis that are being killed reside in cities and towns across Oromia. These are not people that live in the border districts. The Oromo version of Liyu Police along with the general public are the ones that are carrying out the murders. The local and federal authorities have basically told the trapped Somali civilians are on their own. While the Liyu Police have indeed committed crimes, the killings by the Oromo are under-reported and largely target civilians. The number of displaced Somalis have also been under-reported. The Oromo has an advantage over the Somalis in that they have more influence at the federal level. The current situation was initially instigated by the TLPF but there always have been simmering tensions that were bound to explode. The situation was also happening in other parts of Ethiopia though at slower rate, many Amharas and Tigray were killed in Oromo. Tigray businessmen have been kicked out of the Amhara Region. Institutions and regions are becoming segregated. It is not clear if this is by a design or things are just getting out of hand. Anyway, the situation does not bode well for the region. As much as I like to see Ethiopia disintegrate, a collapse of Ethiopia would be catastrophic.

Many villages in question belong to Somalis. Oromo are expansionists. They have already be given many predominantly Somali districts. They have already taken Dire Dhabe (though it is technically a specially administered city). Soon, they will be claiming Jigjiga. If you give them an inch, they will demand a mile. Somaliland and Puntland are also teeming with Oromo. They may look harmless but they have pent up anger. once unleashed will create havoc. The Woyanes will make sure Ethiopia disintegrates if they cannot hold on to power. They will invoke article 39 and make sure the shit hits the roof.

P.s Ely is the former Somali Naval HQ. Those skinny boys were merely taking what was theirs.

It's historical and so is many coastal towns. Ely was the one of the last stronghold of the Darawish.

So they want to instigate a violence in peaceful place? Ali Khalif has unhealthy hatred towards Puntland. -
Inauguration of Somaliland's 5th President H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi
Che -Guevara replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
Sayidka killed and displaced my grandfather's family from their ancestral territory. Only my grandfather who was a baby at the time and his sister survived. They went to Berbera and then moved down to Beled Weyne. It is fair to criticize him but his overall goal is worthy honoring. And for Somaliland, it is politically smart thing to do if you want the Harti to embrace this project. And despite what Dhulos (my reer abti) say, his struggle included Somalis across tribal lines from the North to all down to Juba. Besides, it is better for Somalis to own this history then have Iley and his Tigray masters misappropriate it by erecting a statue in occupied Jigjiga. -

Trump will recognize Jerusalem as Isreal's capital.
Che -Guevara replied to Holac's topic in General
Donald is testing the limits of the American institutions. He might have found his match in the form of Bob Mueller, a very efficient investigator and effective prosecutor. Mueller has started looking into Trump's finance. Over the decades, Trump declared bankruptcies several times/. American banks stopped loaning him any money. Trump looked outside and secure loans from Deutsche bank. Deutsche Bank has many connections to Moscow and it is understood Trumps' loans were bought the Russians. His son even brought bragged about getting Russian money. It will all come back down to money though that's not ignited the investigation. As for Jerusalem, the issue is being pushed by American evangelicals who literally believe the reconstitution of Biblical Israel will bring out the rupture. Netanyahu was more than happy to welcome it as his government depends fanatical religious Jewish extremists. Israel's elite including former PMs, spy chiefs and military see the coming trouble. Israel will be Arab majority apartheid state. Here's interview Ehud Barak Israel Needs a Divorce — From the Palestinians and Its Own Prime Minister -
I was thinking more of longtime bread and butter issues, The backbone of the any Somali region economy is the livestock. Given its long stability, one would have hoped the successive governments in Somaliland would have deviced a way to protect this industry and limit the effects of drought. Somali nomads lost millions of camels, goats and sheep. It would be prudent for Somaliland to find a way to mitigate these recurring tragedies. They must also find a way to diversity instead of just sending live animals to the Gulf.

Implications of the killings in Awaday, Ethiopia
Che -Guevara replied to Deeq A.'s topic in Politics
I don't share some of author's observation. It is obvious he has prejudice. That said, the skirmishes between Somalis and Oromos are not new and so is TPLF's involvement. What's astonishing is the level of brutality the Oromo meted onto Somali victims. Stories shared by Somali victims are beyond sickening. We, Somalis, are violent bunch but for most part, any killing done by a Somali is quick and painless. In any case, something will give in Ethiopia but an implosion of Ethiopia will be catastrophic for the region. -
The majority of the aid money goes back to donor nations in for or another. Many of consultants, experts and managers of aid projects are from the same. The administrative cost is astronomical and the little money left is distributed to local NGOs, In fact, there are no meaningful deliverables. The part of the problem is African governments as they present no specific goals that addresses specific needs.

Mooge, I am looking in the suburbs away from city center. Who manages land sales? The last thing I want is run into Xamar like situation. How far is the nearest village to Garowe? Tallaabo, I am assuming you are talking about me. I never hid who I am.

Does anyone recently bought an empty lot in Garowe? What's is the price? Mooge, jump in. When was the last time you visit there?

The people that wanted to dispossess us of our house tried to convince the court that they had genuine documents. The documents are amazingly professionally done. They even looked old giving the appearance the papers were issued before the civil war stated. Luckly, like Holac states our neighbors came our rescue. More importantly, our relatives who happen to be H-Block were also there to make sure we were not intimated. One of the problems facing people apart from false documents and intimidation is the fact those that the residents who occupy these houses know no other home. They have lived for ages and sincerely came to believe the property is theirs.

What's on Musa Biixi's agenda apart from forming new government and reconciling different groups?
