  1. So the argument for the status quo is the fear of unknown.
  2. Observer, You seem to be pinning your hopes on Agew. From what I understand they are not numerically or financially strong. I don't see how they can arm-twist Amharas. A fear of future marginalization might mobilize them but it is better to be at peace with your neighbors. That said, a violent breakup of Ethiopia is in no one's interest but the current status quo can't persist. Only real reform can save it and spare the Horn of anymore mass violence and displacement.
  3. Dekeme was deputy Prime-Minister and in theory, was suppose to replace Desalegn. It looks like no Amhara is in the running for the premiership. Let's see what they with OPDO members?
  4. ANDM leadership dismantled, Gedu and Demeke removed.
  5. Observer, So you are saying all this is conjured by Amhara.? Is the issue one of identity or simply competition over resources?
  6. Col. Demeke (Wolkait community) to released but Woyanes are also declaring a state of emergency. The identity of Wolkait is very sensitive issue for Tigray and Amhara. Wolkait region is very fertile land.
  7. Ethiopia 'at crossroads' after Hailemariam resignation Some describe it as a "transformational moment"; others the result of an "unprecedented" wave of protests.  But whatever it is labelled, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn's surprise resignation is setting the stage for a crucial succession race, that is likely to shape the future course of a country rocked by violent unrest and political instability.
  8. Predictable as ever, at this point, there is no sport in engaging with you. Your lack of putdowns ( you seem to confuse them with outright insults), projection of your twisted thoughts onto others and the supposed effeminate behaviors of men ( I think it is fair to say women have more guts than your proverbial balls) makes this whole exchange very mundane. As for my soomaalinimo, as I said, before, a secessionist, whose grandfather by his own admission was a party to some of most treacherous moments in Somali history, wouldn't lecture on soomaalinimo. So, go and bark somewhere else. And speaking of Somaliland, considering the most topics regarding your little hamlet is started by you and your fellow secessionists, the obsession with Somaliland is barely a Southern thing.
  9. This is coming from a man who Literally insulted every person and every region of Somalia and to make up for his short-comings, tries to use Somaliland blanket. What's there to get? Regurgitation of same points coupled with silly emoji does not make your 'arguments' anymore no convincing.
  10. It's sarcasm. Everything seems lost on you. May we need to write things in italicized bold CAPS in order to comprehend the most basic of things.
  11. Observer, Considering the history of Ethiopian politics which is complete domination of one ethnic over all other nations, how likely it is for Tigray to leave under Amhara hegemony? The Amhara still harbor the fantasy of Amharazation of Ethiopia.
  12. Yoniz, We will find out soon enough. Just realized the Deputy Prime-Minister is Amhara guy.
  13. Free movement is good when you have control over your borders.
  14. Yoniz, Let's not get too excited :-) If Ethiopia does fragment, I hope it is not violent. Imagine even couple million Ethiopians fleeing to Somalia.
  15. The latest news is that the Central Committee has accepted Desalegn's resignation.
  16. MMA, You are right the genie is out of the bottle. It will be difficult to put it back in. This could go one of four ways, Woyanes can appoint one of their own, a hardliner. They can appoint someone from OPDO which is willing to work within EPRDF. They can lead the country into chaotic end. Or they can ensure an orderly transition. Whatever the case might be, I really doubt that they want to live Oromo or Amhara government. As for Iley, it really depends what ONLF wants and how much military and financial powerthey can gather. But Somalis need to be ready for any eventuality/
  17. Galbeedi, Considering current development, there might be more to ONLF and Woyane story.
