  1. Dayniile...........LoooooooooooL. Jb...we are not threatening anyone with Xasuuq like madcow called Waraabe would. Come to think of it, now that boogey man called M-jania is out of the picture. I wonder who he would blame now.

  3. Caamir...Let me first the people of Sanaag has the right to decide their political future and are also completely within the their God-given right to exploit the resources of the region to alleviate the chronic under-development ignored for so long by competing entities. I'm all for this if people sincerely believe this is the way forward for them to achieve lasting peace and tangible progress. My issue, and bear with me for second why the need that caused the creation of Maakhir state be addressed within existing Pland goverment. The people of Sanaag were/are the founding members of the current Puntland. They were not mere peripheral constituents used to counter the secession policy of the Hargeysa regime. They obviously see creation of the Pland as mean to advance their interests, not just way to maintain "vauled kinship". It is apparent today the interest of the Sanaag were never addressed, and I would argue the neglect hardly resides in Sanaag alone, but affects the average person in region of Pland. It is bad governance and out of control corruption that brought down Plander's aspirations. It hardly has anything with any indiffirence shown by the average Plander to Sanaag or Sool. We will be served if we challenge the system of governance rather than fragmenting the place. Lastly, mind you it is lack of accountability that leads to the eventual fall of Somali admins. I just hope Sanaag elite not emulate their cousins in Garowe and Hargeysa. Duke....You are comparing apples and oranges. The situation in northern Somalia is hardly comparable to the south which has endured almost decades of constant clan wars.

  6. Duke you started the topic just to settle points with people like Horn with your reference to the JVA. I don't see how that fits here, and I don't understand how the inception of Maakhir state is cause for celebration. Farther fragmentation is not answer to the ills of our society. Better governance and attianing accountability when it comes to the leaders should be our goals. I don't see how granting mini-states to every dissatisfied reer Hebel is not the answer.
  7. I also think that they were forced into such a situation due to circumstances that were set off by Musharaf and his lackies. That sounds bit conspiratorial. Why would Musharaf and his lackies hang themselves by undertaking just arduous operation which might have turned the public sentiment against them. The fact remains the goverment reasoned with these people by cajoling for an entire six months.
  8. Most of us would probably never go back to Somalia. So, it is pointless to teach something someone hardly have any use for. Being a better Muslim should be their only concern.
  9. What have you suggested the goverment to do, sit idly while brain-washed young men and women parade around in Islamabad threatening people locals or foriegners alike, not mentioning imprisoning law enforcement. These people were given fair warning and ample time to take corrective measures. They decided against all reason and stuck to their guns. And this is the hand God dealt. Life moves on.
  10. Geeljire...Whether Musharraf is what's wrong with Muslim world today is beside the point. The army has safeguarded the interests of the Pakistani nation since independence. It steps into the political arena when secular civilian goverments fail the country as the Bhutto and Nawaz regimes did. If the religious parties want to govern the country, let them run for elections like anyone else. What happen to the students was very unfortunate, but the army did its job which requires them to protect the state from all enemies whether be local or foriegn. These Madarrasa had no right in legislating people's behavior. Their energy and resources could be better utilized if they actually help the poor or preach Islam instead forcing it down into people's throats by arbitrarily flogging and imprisoning ordinary citizens.
  11. Farther fragmentation of their diffirent is not solution for the previaling social, economical, and political issues that besieged the Somali landscape. How would the State of Maakhir, and more to the point its leadership be any diffirent from the corrupt leadership in Pland and Sland.
  12. moral conscience Whatever you tell yourself Horn. I guess it must have been overwhelming moral conscience that drove Guutada 1 to clean up Kismayo, but then again what do I know . I'm sure Guutada 3 is driven by ethical principles.
  13. Originally posted by HornAfrique: moral conscience. [/QB] Somalis have no moral conscience. So let's not portray this as act of kindness. Again, how actually authorised to go to Jilib since the third division is under the TFG.
  14. Just out of curiosity, who does the third division answer to, and who authorised the sweeping of Jilib?
  15. Nayruus.....Waagacusub ma ahoo da same people claimed askari Amxaar shan mar madaxa iska toogtay.
  16. LoooooooooooL@Cleaned, I guess it takes a tuug to kill another tuug. Great news as long as this good samaritans don't start erecting their own check points.

  18. The Pakistani government did the right thing. It is unfortunate many lives were lost, but the Musharaf government government was left with little or no choice. They had to confront and clam down for the good of the state of Pakistan, and the right of every citizen to room freely in the streets of Islamabad without of fear being taunted, mocked or even physically attacked by the Madarrasa students. With lawless Afghanistan to the west, and billion plus India to the east, Pakistan can't afford political instability, let alone a breakdown in security. Kudos to Musharaf and the Army, I say!
  19. Those common men made their point when they took to the streets, and I wished more would have followed their path and joined their brethren in Garowe before Ina Yeey showed. What's telling is the fact that no hospitals, schools, roads, or any other infrastructure was ever erected since the inception of Puntland. The only thing the admin did was to provide the masses with the security needed for the Pland economy to thrive so that the common man could hassle for his daily. Even that couldn't be guaranteed today thanks to the Sicir barar, unpaid security forces, and rising poverty. All corruption, abuse, exploitation, and not mention the continuous murder of innocent Somalis and Ethios in the high seas have caught up with us. Allow amuuraha sahal, and It is also for the Pland diasporo and be counted!!!!
  20. One my African Muslim freinds was laughing about this whilst Why do these sorts of thread always start with the above line. One of my black, white, latino, christain, or muslim was laughing, wondering, or amused...who cares what these people think. Geeljire...could so called friend just be truely yours.
