So hassan Gers the Ethiopia side  and he sidines Somaliland deal with Somaliland and make sure Ethiopia doesnt gain access

     its quiet a move

Xaaji, it doesn't matter what coast he signed away. It makes no difference to the Somali  public.

And Ethiopia won't help with anything. Why should they help a man whose term is fast coming to an end.

  2. Galbeedi, on top of that, some trade is shifting to Garacad despite being under-developed in comparison to Berbera. They made a mistake of interfering with business and lumping all D community together, a community that don't share a similar goals and have different priorities.

Anyway  Awdal seems to be late to every game, not that clan militias are good for anyone.

Pland should be worried as well and tread carefully. This sort of culture can easily impact the behavior of other Somali clans

  3. This is an old report, but it made me wonder what HSM yes-men are telling him or if he is listening to anyone at all? Under one year, he went from "Ethiopia is our enemy"  to "Ethiopians  have scarified their lives for us." Clearly, Tunisia, unlike Somalia, was and is an actual state and Ben Ali was firmly in control, but Ben Ali's delusions can be heard in his voice. Almost no one was telling him the reality on the ground to the very last minute. Listening to HSM, it is becoming harder to tell he is a fool, a thief who will do anything to amass wealth even at the expense of his nation, an ill man or simple tool of foreign powers, perhaps he is a bit of everything.

This is a dangerous situation. Where did these people come from? I believe Daesh, al Qaida, Boko Haram, and the likes are mind-controlled Trojan Horses for CIA and Mosad Zionist dark forces to create upheaval in Muslim societies.  They got to be destroyed before they set roots.

Only Iran is left on the List

  5. Galbeedi,

Those who launched the attacks made a fundamental mistake. They foolishly forget that they crossed an international border. Their goal might have been to destabilize the Somali region, but they conveniently ignored the region is under Addis Ababa jurisdiction regardless how Somalis view the Ethiopian colonization of the Somali region. This is not Las Anod or Erigavo.

  6. ‘Dark forces’ from Somaliland kill at least 83 on Ethiopian territory

At least 30 members of the Somali regional police force and 53 civilians have been killed by an armed group that crossed into Ethiopian territory, Harshin Woreda, from Somaliland over the past week. Government officials confirmed the casualties to The Reporter, but other sources say the attacks claimed more than 200 lives.

Harshin, the easternmost woreda of Jigjiga Zone, is bordered on the south by Degehabur Zone, on the west by Kebri Beyah, and on the northeast by Somaliland. Harshin is home to clans who inhabit both the Somali region and Somaliland.

Seven days ago, it turned into the scene of a bloody series of events that reportedly began with a clan-related clash over grazing lands in Yoale Kebele.

The Somali regional administration sent a team of three police officers, including Mohammed Gedi, Harshim’s security chief, to bring the clash under control, according to an official in the Somali regional government.

  7. From what I understand, local clans from opposing communities had a conflict over land, a farm land. The land belongs to the Arab clan.  A small number of  Liyu Polce and local officials came to the area to assess the situation and find a solution. The Liyu Police were ambushed by Arab militia.  Liyu Police members died including commanders. The commanders were Ciise, Arab and OG men. Videos of the dead were shared on social media

The Arab militia were not all from the area. The Liyu Police came back in force and went rampage. Ethiopian forces decided not to intervene. They agreed to close the border, but nothing else.

In any case, over 200 Somalis are dead including 60 Liyu police. A small disagreement turned into bloodbath.

  8. The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Asmara, in early afternoon hours today, for a working visit. President Isaias Afwerki accorded warm welcome to President Hassan S. Mohamud and his entourage on their arrival at Asmara Internatonal Airport. The two Heads of State will discuss further enhancement of bilateral ties as well as regional and international matters of mutual importance.

  9. Eritrea plans to cut off ties with Somalia if Ethiopia is given access to the sea. HSM will be traveling to Asmara soon

Secession does not serve anyone's interest, political autonomy does.

    Illyria,

At this point, it is irresponsible to watch HSM ran the country to the ground. Unfortunately, Mogadishu political elites seem paralyzed.

That is not true and you know it. It is the Garaad community who refused all calls for peace and coexistence in Sanaag, and is fully responsible for all this chaos.

There's fundamental problem that can't be overcome in regards to Erigavo situation, and that's how can pro-secession and anti-secessionist communities share the same city. I personally  think they can, but Sland sees Erigavo as part and parcel to their agenda, and SSC wants their side of the city under their rule.

And this is the larger issue at the hand. Somaliland will continue claiming territories inhibited by reer SSC as this is essential for the elusive icritiraaf, and reer SSC want their own clan state, bringing the part of Sanaag that belongs to them under their control will potentially help them create a federal state.

These two objectives are difficult to reconcile. My argument is based on this fact,
