Dr Imaan Abu Baker Famly members of Dhair Aweis hve pointed the blame at Dr Imaaan Abu baker for the killing of Dhair aweis. Dr Imaan Abu Baker had previously had a power struggle with Dhair aweis over who will lead Hizbul Islam. This news comes as no surprise. Dr Imaan Abu Baker has so far not spoken about the allegation put against him by the family of Dhair aweis.

^^^^That's funny because they are al-shabaab. Don't know that al-shabaab old man hve become desperate and hve now brainwashed somali children to commit murder against the somali population and die for arab agenda. -
A warlord who lives by the gun dies by the gun. Pro-government militia says Aweys dead, rebels deny it -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- MOGADISHU, June 6 (Reuters) - Battles between rival Islamist groups in central Somalia have killed 123 people, a rights group said on Saturday, and a pro-government militia said militant rebel leader Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys had died in the fighting. Aweys' militia denied that as propaganda. Witnesses said scores of bodies lay in the streets of Wabho town after fighters from the hardline al Shabaab and Hizbul Islam groups battled moderate Islamist group Ahla Sunna Waljamaca for control. Most of the deaths were on Friday. The local Elman Peace and Human Rights Organisation said it had confirmed 123 fighters killed in one of the worst flare-ups of the year in the conflict-riven Horn of Africa nation. An Islamist insurgency that broke out in early 2007 -- the latest in 19 years of conflict in Somalia -- has killed around 18,000 civilians and thousands more fighters. It has also drawn foreign jihadists into Somalia, enabled piracy to flourish offshore, and unsettled the whole region, putting East African neighbours on high security alert. In Mogadishu, al Shabaab have been battling the security forces of President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed. In the central region, pro- and anti-government Islamist militia have been fighting all year, with towns changing hands regularly. DEAD OR ALIVE? Among the dead in Wabho, according to pro-government Alha Sunna, was Hizbul Islam leader Aweys, a 62-year-old cleric and hardliner whom the United States and United Nations have accused of links to al Qaeda. The group said he died of gunshot wounds. "Hassan Dahir died in El Bur," Alha Sunna spokesman Sheikh Abdullahi Sheikh Abu Yusuf told Reuters, referring to a nearby town with a hospital. "We seriously injured him yesterday. This is good news." If confirmed, Aweys' death would be a major blow to the rebels and a boost for Ahmed's government, which had tried unsuccessfully to broker peace talks with the cleric. But Hizbul Islam spokesman Sheikh Musa Arale denied the report of Aweys' death. "Sheikh Hassan is alive and unharmed," he told Reuters. "That is the propaganda of our enemies whose commanders and leaders we killed yesterday." Some residents of Wabho and a Hizbul Islam fighter said Aweys was injured and taken to hospital in El Bur. "I understand Sheikh Hassan was hit by bullets in the back and thighs," the fighter, who asked not to be named, told Reuters. "He may be serious but I have not heard of his death." Neither side controlled Wabho on Saturday, locals said, but the battles had halted for them to collect and bury corpses. The violence is swelling Somalia's more than 1 million internal refugee population. Aid agencies say 3 million people need urgent food aid in one of the world's worst -- and most neglected -- humanitarian crises.

Al-shabaab is like criminal gang -
Its al-shabaab who are today killing and slaughtering the somali population with murderous under aged children who they hve brain washed. Allah SWT says that believers should not kill one another yet al-shabaab are murdering everyone who speaks their mind.

The Unity Government in three months hve achieved staggering results. -They hve given somalia a platform to voice her concerns and needs to the international community. -They hve helped ensure the withdrawal of ethiopian troops from mogadishu. -They hve collected 2 million dollars in tax-revenues from Mogadishio alone per month -the government has made sharia law the constitution of somalia They hve resisted to be pushed anyway by the rebels hve have an arab agenda rather than a somalia agenda. It simply amazes me when a few arrogant and tribal minded individuals try to belittle the fantastic achievements of the 3 month long somali unity Government. What a shame that we hve here traitors who's only desire and hope is that somalia never gets back on its feet. The excuses's the come up with is simply shocking. "I don't like Sheikh Shariff because he wears a blue suit rather than a red suit so therefore i am with the rebels" Use your heads here people. Somalia is your country, be more loyal to your country than your tribe. Do not support destructive rebels/gangs/clans that serve outside interest rather than the interest of our country

First of all it was Allah SWT who removed the ethiopians. While Dhair aweis and Dr imaam Abu Baker both fled from somalia it was only the UIC mujahids who stayed and fought against the ethiopian occupation. The same UIC mujahids who now face al-shabaab militias. Anyway i think that you are driven by tribal motives to support the rebels.

Ethiopia is an enemy of somalia. It only violates somalia's sovereignty because of rebel factions such as al-shabaab. Al-shabaab is like a God-send for ethiopia. They are sowing division between the somali people. They are causing unnecessary conflict. More importantly they are trying to overthrow the Government of somalia. Ethiopia would like nothing more than for somalia to be isolated by the international community and for somalia not to hve a Government. Al-shabaab cannot defend themselves from the ethiopian incursions in bay and bakool. So the hell can it save us somalis from an ethiopian invasion. It is only through diplomacy by the somali Government that saves somalia from full ethiopian incursion. Al-shabaab is not an army but a ragtag rebel group like the ONLF. Somalia needs a well armed a trained defence force to protect its boders, and only a Government can accomplish that. Guys Lets use our heads here.

Government continues with training program for Somali defence forces

How ever much the rebels try to be the spoilers for somalia. How ever much Dhair aweis cries for attention. How ever much tribal somalis from Puntland iyo somaliland cheer for the rebels. How ever much al-shabaab terrorise the population by throwing grenades, suicide bombings. The Government still stands and gets stronger day by day with the full support of the somali people -
You do not understand. Ethiopia wants our Government to collapse so they could then say to the international community that somalia has no government and that somali people hve falied to govern themselves for the ast 20 years. Then they could put out the argument than somalia should be part of ethiopia. Al-shabaab are weak to defend us from the ethiopian army, they would just turn like the ONLF. We somalis hve a huge chance to get our country back on its feet. Shariffs Government is a hope and it is a somali Government not controlled by ethiopia but by somalis. Al-shaabab are just destructive and are only playing the spoilers of somali's chance back as a nation. Y would agree with me unless that is if you're not drive by other motives such as tribal reasons and the somaliland and puntland care. Emperor supports these rebels because he believes that they are in he's own clan interest. He knows that shariffs Government will overshadow Puntland iyo somaliland admins. Al-shabaab are nothing and so are Hizbul Islam. They are both only united today to try and overthrow the Government. Tomorrow after that they would be fighting each other for over and ethiopia will return and somalia will be voiceless. If you love somalia you would support the Government not the destructive rebels.

Ethiopian forces advance into Somali teritorries, Bay Bakool
Hassan6734 replied to Emperor's topic in Politics
There are no ethiopians in Mogadishu but there are ethiopian officers in Puntland and somaliland. There is tribal dimension why emperor and others now support the rebels. The rebels are weak, they hve already launched their full assault against the Government and hve miserably failed. Government survives and is getting stronger and stronger as it re-asserts its authority. -

Al-shabaab at its best. I can't believe that they are saying that they want to take over the world. These rebels are destructive and arm young children to carry out their terror dreams. -

Al-shabaab rebels hve an Arab agenda not a somali agenda. They seek to turn our country into an international terrorist playground. The last thing that somalia needs is to be drawn into eye of the storm of the so called war on terror.
