Very sad pictures indeed. May Allah rest their souls in peace.

The genocide in the North began way before 1988. In fact, most of the disappearances of intellectuals, the killings of students, the rapings... the events that led to the declaration and the establishment of the SNM happened way before the SNM came into the cities. 1988 was the climax of the war.
I personally remember the 1986 curfew that run 24 hours for about 2 weeks. In that curfew, every shop, every hospital everything was shut down, you would be killed on the spot if they found you infront of your house let alone on the streets. I remember my family cooking what little food we had using wood from our " wooden chairs" and "wooden tables" (the contents of our house) as fuel to cook because there was sever shortage of fuel and no one dared to step outside the house. In the subsiquent years, the curfew was eased up a little, and it run from 3PM to 7AM everyday. This is only what I could remember as a kid, but the stories are horrif and to say the genocide started in 1988 doesn't do justice to those innocent people that were killed before the 1988 war.
