I made a post and its gone!! Whoa! Originally posted by Naxar Nugaaleed: certain clan inhabits the regions of of Puntland. Hating it and its leaders, ya suldaanka, makes you a qabiilist aside from what Somaliland is. As for the state of Somaliland being a clan state, you can lie to your self all you want but the truth is the truth. If its not a clan state, why try to leave Somalia? a better question, the intentions of those who want to secede is no secret to anyone, why keep repeat here. is it an attempt to convince yourself? Listen friend, Somaliland is not about a clan or a particular clan. It is about anyone who believes in the idea that Somaliland shall become an independent state and wants to restore the lost soveriengty of the 1960s. Any indivitual from any clan can support that ideology or oppose it. There are many people from Hargeisa, Burao who oppose this ideology as there are many indivituals that support it who hail from Lascaanood. But the bottomline is; the majority rules, minority's rights respected. If the majority of the people of Somaliland want to remain part of SOmalia, then be it. Equally if the Majority of the Somaliland people want to regain their lost sovereignty, then there is nothing you can do about it. Simple as that.

Qabyaalad is the norm in Puntland. Nowhere I have argued otherwise. Fair enough. I can now understand why you are having hard time coming to terms with the fact that there exists a Somali region which is working hard to breakaway from the shackles of Clanism and move towards a more civilised democracy in which man is judged not of which clan he hails from but of his talents and his ability to lead the nation more than anything else. That reality is obviously hard to comprehend for someone who hails from a region in which Clanism and Qabyaalad is day to day norm, And with a Constitution which specifically defines a listed ranking (A, B, C & D) of the clans in the order of importance. Hence, Clan with A ranking will forever be President and leader of the region, and so and so.... It is with little wonder everyone is running away from there. As for Somaliland, although it is not perfect, the foundations to build a better democracy are in place. The ideal Somaliland nation that every Somalilander wishes for, is one that is fair and free from clanism. Unlike Puntland which is dividing up cities like Galkacayo into clanish lines, Somaliland is uniting multiclan cities like Ceerigaabo under one flag and under one nation. We want to bring everyone and make them at home under one big family called Somaliland. Yopu migth think that is dreaming, but that is the ultimate aim. ^^Munaafiqnimada diidayaa, and nobody denies Puntland is Qabiil alliance. Their honesty in that respect is more than I could say about others. As to the claim to SSC, don't disrespect the good of these regions as nobody have claim over them or their land. LOL That didn't answer what infuriated you when I mentioned about that particular clan? Of course, if Somaliland is based on qabiil, then people would be running away from it like they do from Garoowe. What makes people like Xaabsade, Qaybe, Fagadhe, Gees, Cadami, and all the other heavyweights of Sool and Sanaag more at home in Hargeisa than they are in Garoowe? Of course everyone is becoming aware of the uglyness of the Qabyaalad that is practiced in Garoowe. In Garoowe, a man from Sool knows that he can never become a president nor take any leadership role, whereas in Hargeisa he has the same rights as anyone else. Go Figure!

hyphen, Puntland inay qabiil ku dhisantay, oo hal qabiil tahay, madaxdiina, isimadiina iyo dhamaan siyaasiyiintiina ayaa hadh iyo habeen warbaahinta ka sheegta oo ku faana. Maxaa uga xanaaqaysta? ileen qabiilku waa waxa Sool iyo Eastern Sanaag aad u sheegataane?

^^ Waar ninyow baabuurkaygi igu horeyey een ku tabobartay ayaa dhibaato ii keeni jiray marku waliba summerka ee koleyl dhaafo ayuu qiiq igu sii daynjiray. Fixing the blo*dy thing wasn't worth it, I had to buy a more a reliable car. Marka I know what you are talking about. But what a pitty, a whole clan has to endure that every now and then. Doonta Boosaaso dadka lagu guro ee deedna badweyn ku haliganta ayaan soo xasuustay. Malaha rer Puntland isma oga laakin doonti ugu weynayd ee wada fuuleen waa tan Cabdilaahi Yusuf.

^^ Abdilaahi Yusuf is like an old truck with a history of engine problems. It would be akin to suicidal if I were to cross the hellish Sahara Desert with such an old beast.

Obviously its clear that there is a marginal disagreement between The Pentagon and the State Department on the Somaliland issue. Whereas The Pentagon has come to the conclusion that engaging with Somaliland as an independent entity falls within the wider regional interest of the USA, the State Department still mulls about the political implecations of such a move. It is important to underscore that the State Department itself wishes that the Africans themselves take the lead on this issue before the USofA takes any concrete position, politically. The African Union on its part is very much interested and, in most respects, favours Somaliland's quest to become a member state of the union. But what is holding back at this juncture is its engagement in Somalia (Proper). From the AU's perspective, they want to first stablise Southern Somalia and only after that open a dialogue about the Somaliland issue. That obviously doesn't look like it to be the case at this time, unless something magical takes place and Col. Yey and his genocidical regime is deposed and a new more legitimate one takes office. All in all, the Somaliland case is emerging as an important issue as we approach the second decade of the new millenium.

This is indeed a very bad move from UDUB regime. I don't believe the orders came from Addis Abeba (btw it is plausible), but I think the UDUB regime is ridden with very incompetent people (former NSS members) and that the journalists are seen by them as enemies. It is no wonder they are pushing so hard a new parliamentary law, which is described by experts as being one of the most draconian media laws in the world to curb freedom of speech and the press. But, waxaan UDUB kaga ciil la nahay waa, their time is coming to an end soon, by any means possible. The bottomline is, and every Somalilander now understands the fact that UDUB regime is working hard for their own narrow personal interests and NOT the country's interests.

One might have expected, at this day and age, that Somalis have enough experience about the uglyness of Qabyaalad. But here comes a so called Abwaan using his art to incite clanish wars and to pit neighbouring clans against each other. --- source Raggii magacan qaaliga ka dhigay qolada aan sheegto Qabuuraha hadday wada galeen waa qadar Ilaahe Dadka kalaba qaar baa u kaca ficil qorshayntiise Miyaan weli quruuntaynu nahay cidi u qaan gaadhin Qulmulaash miyaan nahay dhammaan, wada qasuumaysan Qodob kalena waa qaxarkan dhacay waa mid qara weyne Reer Sool qudh gooyiyo dhib iyo qaxinta loo gaystey Raggaa lagu qafilay jeelashee qoolka lagu haysto Garaadiyo qusuusida qarfiyo qorraxda loo caydhshey Ee qayla dhaantay wadaan dhegaha qoomayso Dumarkiyo carruurtaa qarracan qadeyda yeedhaysa Gobolka qaniimada noqdee qoom kale u meeray ******ka laaskii qabsaday quudhsigiyo faanka Qadaf aan qarsoonayn kuwaa gole ka qeexaaya Qaladkaa qabiil wada galee layska qaban waayey Qaadashada dalkeennii raggaa wada qorshaynaaya Ee Faysal qaadiga noqdee u qudbadaynaayo Iyo qosolka ina Xaabsadiyo qalo la’aantiisa Qof kastaba labadan qodob waysu qaban weydey Is qalluufka waaguu yiqiin waan quweyn jiraye Ma qardhaas faloo loo qoraa, rogay quluubtiisa Maxaa qaaday Qaybiyo isaga waa qar soo dumaye Alla qabay darbaa nagu qarribay qawlka cayda ahe Qawiciinta nimankii noqdaye quudka naga doortay Ee soo qadhaabsanahayee aaday qarafaysi Qiyaamaha qabawgii jannada waa ka qadayaane Tolkuna quusayoo tay wadaan waa qabbaanimo e Waxaan qaban rag aan qaadan jirin looma qooq tago'e Tolkeen oo qamaama ah haddii laysu qolo sheegtay Dalkii qaarka joogiyo dhammaan kii qurbaha aaday Qamuunyada Dhulbahantee bishmaha qam iska siinaaya Qulubkiyo waxay ciil qabaan cadhadan qiiraysan Maalkiyo naftay quudhayaan qalabkan buux dhaafay Qiil kale haddaan Eebbe bixin qaadir waysaga e Wallee ama qab weynida ***** qoomamo u keentay Ama wallee qudhaydiyo lawaa qaranka aan she

North, This is the second school that provides GCSE certification. The other is Sheikh Boarding School in Sahel region. Hargeysa bella waaye obviously. Ilaahay ha u barakeeyo nabadooda. Jaamacad aad u quruxsan oo soomaalida lacag ay iska aruuriyeen iyo deeq lagu dhisay, now ethiopians took it as one of their headquarters. Muqdisho was on its way to recovery before it was set back a decade. Even as I write, people are leaving it to wherever they think life is better. Many can't even afford the sky-rocketted fee for the bus. I have spoken with my older brother and he sounded very despondent. May be I should tell him to go to hargeysa since he doesn't want to go to Kenya. I didn't think about that honestly haddaayay when I was talking to him. That is the disheartening part of it all. The so called International community never cared about Mogadishu when the Warlords divided the city into pockets of warring warlord-doms. As soon as they saw that these people have gotten their acts together and started rebuilding their city, they came and destroyed it. If your brother is able to cope with the higher living costs of Hargeisa (in comparison to Mogadishu's), he shall find a welcoming second home.
-
Folks from Mogadishu's Academia shares with us about their recent visit to Hargeisa. That happy dude looks like a very nice chap. His happy-going put a big smile on my face as well.

The Media is a very powerful industry specialy in today's globalised world. In fact, the media is counted as the third power after the economic and military power of a country. Hence the importance of journalists can not be underestatimated. Journalists weild the power make or break, to mend or damage, to bring together or dessimate hatred between two peoples. I see the presence of Mogadishu's most famous journalists in our capital city as an opportunity that we must not miss to capitalise and invest on. We all know the fact that Mogadishu will be freed sooner or later. And this sad chapter will be a thing of the past. But what will live on is the stories that these journalists will take back to their city. Those stories will depend on how we treated them in their day of need. I hope the people of Somaliland invest in this opportunity and welcome these journalists with open arms.

Subxaan. Duqan inuu intaa dhaamo ayaa moodijiray. Wuxu garanwaayay waxa garatay. I am sure had the people that are being killed in Mogadishu were from his own clan, he would have condemned the inhumane genocide that is taking place in Mogadishu today. Waa ciro cimri joogta oo ceeb lagu sagootiyey.

Jacaylka, Maakhir meel fog ma jirto. At least the locals there are minding their own business. If they keep out Puntland influence from their areas, that is good enough for us. Knowing that most of the leaders of Maakhir State are same indivituals that called Hargeisa home for the better most of the past decade. Somaliland needs to cultivate that connections for the longer term in order to make it easy for the future re-integeration of that areaa into the Somaliland community.

"What can Somalia do to bring SL to talks to join in with the greater Somalia? " Very simple indeed. When all 5 Somali speaking regions - namely Djibouti, Somaliland, Somalia, Western Somali Region and NFD - come together under one flag. The whole point of the 1960s union was not about Mogadishu and Hargeisa uniting to form a single country but it was all about to bring all Somali speaking regions under one flag. If anyone oo hayo hal hees oo niiko ah oo calanka bluega loo suubiyey bal car soo sheega:)

Its official, John Howard is gone. He has lost his seat to Maxine McKew. ALP is leading 6% swing nationwide. Meet Australia's new Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
-
Howard has been banking on the terrorism card for too long. In fact, this is the first election since 9/11 that Howard didn't run a scare campaign because it is becoming old and out dated now. So far the results look promising for the ALP.

Suldaanka replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Horn Afrique I don't think one person replaced with another changes the machinery of the occupation. No matter how respectable one is and no matter how clean one's shirt is, once you jump in muddy waters you can nolonger claim cleaness and your white-shirt will definitely not look white any more. In the same light, Mr. Cadde might be a humaniterian but being inside this genocidical machine called the TFG is enough to discredit all his good deeds in the past. The irony is a man who was once the head of a respectable organisation like the Red Crescent Society and, I make the assumption that, a man who has first hand knowledge about the Ethiopian genocide in Mogadishu, will take the oath to keep that occupation and genocide going. That is the irony I find it hard to swallow. A respectable man, in my books, is one who condemns the genocide that is taking place in Mogadishu and fights for the freedom of his country. If he is neither than he is no different than Cali Geedi. -
Maxine McKew is leading the Prime Minister's seat of Bennelong. * Maxine McKew 52.6%; John Howard 47.3% * 8% swing to ALP in Deakin * 6.68% swing to ALP in Eden-Monaro * Swings to Labor in Braddon and Bass Early counting shows Labor leading the Coalition in several key marginal seats less than an hour after the first polls have closed in today's federal election.
