  1. This seems to clarify what the changes are to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  2. Gooni, Dagaalkii Somali isku heshay, dadkii beenta loogu sheekayn jiray ayaa ku fashilmay. Dad badan ayaa maanta waxay dadka la so horfadhiistan aanay jirin oo la odhanayaa orod oo afka laydha ka qarso. Gobonimo iyo Geesinimo waa wax dhiiga ku jira suuqa lagama soo iibsado. Waqooyiga gobonimo iyo geesinimo ugu imo. Dhamaan dadkii Afwayne dabka isugu dhiibay inta geed wayn la so wada fadhiistay ayaa waa halkii Daahir Rayaale la yidhi "Wixii daanta yaal daad haqaado, Wixii Daantan taalna dabayli ha qaado" Xalay dhalay laga so qaaday wixii dhib iyo xanuun ahaa ee dadka reer Somaliland soo kala gaadhay. Cashar fiican ka baro.
  3. kkkk Redundancy is a normal process in any organisation be it private, public or gov't. But talk about Puntland, employing people and not giving their due payments that they worked so hard for?? No wonder they storm the banks and take hostage the clerks every now and then. Having said that, there is no money issue in Hargeisa. In fact, the budget that is currently infront of the Parliament includes close to $100 million USD just for Development program. That is bigger than the whole of Puntland budget together. Again, in the coming bugdet the security takes the biggest slice of the cake which stands at 150 million dollars. More details coming in the next few days.
  4. More like bye-bye Djibouti. Djibout is low-laying country. In fact, Lake Asal is the lowest non-ocean point on land.
  5. Very interesting. They say the split is at a rate of 2cm a year. From that calculation it would take around 25,000 years for 250m wide split.
  6. The writing was on the wall for the regime that it was the beginning of the end as late as 1986 when the SNM brazenly freed close to 500 political prisoners from jail. And again, freed a high level SNM military leader from the jaws of death - the day before he was supposed to be executed before public gallery. These string of loses, including the propaganda war which was causing the regime a lot of grief, prompted the regime to start normalising relationship with Addis Abeba - signing away the claims to Somali region of Ethiopia. On the day that Siyad Barre was signing the agreement in Hawasa town in Ethiopia, along with General Morgan, a call was received informing the dictator that Burao was taken by the SNM and all the regime's military slaughtered no one escaped. And they say the rest is history.
  7. What is the connection between dictator and the town?
  8. I sent the dude a PM and it seems that caused him to remove it completely.
  9. One other thing, in 1990 Mohamed Siyad Barre asked the former President of Djibouti to mediate between SNM and his regime. The SNM's gave to Djibouti leader a precondition that Siyad Barre steps down and a new Gov't installed led by opposition forces. Of course, it was a condition too hard for the dictator to accept so the talks broke down. Within months, he was fleeing Villa Somalia.
  10. The USC was the brainchild of the SNM. In fact, the SNM provided the kick start funding, arms and military trainers. it is all about whose side that has won. The Government side was not just the gov't itself, it included a host of allied groups from Somali Aabo, to ONLF, SSDF and USP groups. Everyone acknowledges the Somalia Army was destroyed almost completely by the SNM. Yes, it caused a very heavy lost on the part of the SNM but that did not stop it from keeping almost 95% of the territory on its hands outside the heavily fortified army garrisons - yes they were no city or town, it was reduced to army garrison cut off from each other and only receiving supplied only from the air. And of course, it is part of the strategy, if the opponent had brought all his eggs to the North, and the Southern side of the country was almost complete free - it was a very smart strategy to arm and train the USC. This strategy is backed by the almost domino like collapse of the regime which just waiting for a knock-out punch.
  11. Buulo Xaawo waa halki ugu danbaysay ee Maxamed Siyad Barre raadkiisi u dalka uga cararay lagu sii arko.

  14. The economy is highly dollarized. But you can still get something with the slsh from the street food stalls i.e. Harakoo, Sabaayad etc are widely sold by the street corner ladies.
  15. Is this is the US Embassy that is asking people to move to Somaliland, because the cost of living is cheaper than Djibouti? Last time I checked, Somaliland Shillings was traded around 10,000 shillings to the $1 USD. While Somalia shillings is 40,000 to the dollar.
  16. Take away his clannish leanings and you will see the substance and claims are factually incorrect.
