Raila Odinga claims victory in cliffhanger elections
Separatist replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
J11, seems your Kikuyu freind's statement is turning to be true. There goes rumours that ECK and PNU secretly plan to declare Kibaki winner tommorow morning, letting Gicheru to immmediately swear him in at state house, not even at Uhuru Park as the norm used to be. Ps. Mark that votes from Kamukunji, a Raila stonghold, are already cancelled. Kamunkunji is among the remaining 19 consituencies. Most of them are ODM strongholds like Kibwezi, South Turkana, North turkana, Mandera central, Garsen, Kisauni, Starehe, Baringo (Considering that Odinga has won 70% of Rift Valley province votes) etc. Crossing fingers for Mr. Odinga. -
Raila Odinga claims victory in cliffhanger elections

Doubtlessly Kibaki will come out as the winner. Typical of Kenya/Africa politics. A sitting president rarely loses a re-election. No matter who wins, I hope things cool down. I hardly believe Kenyans would resort to violence as the immediate solution incase of an obvious rigging. They are smarter than that. -

^^^preliminary result favor Farah. He led in all locations except Dertu which didn't submit its result as of last night. But Dertu is his stronghold. So no worry the seat is in box as they say in the North pole. Yep.. stakes are high indeed. The jaluos have already set ablaze several Kikuyu properties in Kisumu area and barricaded all highways. Kenya's 07 election is historical in many ways. It showed a significant shift of politics in the Muslim dominated provinces. This is the first time in the history of the Somali voters ( From N.E.P.) and Coast voters were politically conscious as they didn't emerge as one political block as they did in Moi era. Ps. Long time bro, hope you doing well. -
Raila Odinga claims victory in cliffhanger elections

No matter the pres. outcome, we should be happy that ministers like Raphael Tuju, who masterminded the rendition of Kenyan-Somalis to Ethiopia, is voted out. Glad to see the old guards (of KANU, now most in PNU) careers been massacred. James Orengo and Farah Maalim, the lions of Kenyan politics in the early/late ninetees , did clinch back their Ugenya and Lagdera seats respectively. Kudos to them. Na hiyo ni maendeleo! -

^¨ Both PNU and ODM declared victory. According to The Nation Group Raila is leading by 0.5%. Though the government's website claims Kibaki to have won by 6000 votes. -

police are looking for two people of Somali origin who left the parcel at the scene and escaped. Taxi driver seized and key witnesses quizzed over blast Story by DOMINIC WABALA and FRED MUKINDA Publication Date: 6/12/2007 Anti-terrorism police and forensic experts have launched investigations into yesterday’s explosion. The officers were yesterday sifting through debris at the scene to find clues on the type of explosive and its origin. Police sources said a taxi driver suspected to have ferried the two suspects was being interrogated. Detectives also dusted a dustbin near the scene for fingerprints and carried away samples of the explosive’s residue for testing. They, however, said they did not find bomb remains at the scene. Investigators and officers from the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) have also been deployed to track down the two suspects who are said to have handed the parcel with the explosive to a shoe shiner minutes before it exploded. The shoe shiner-cum-hawker was the only person who died during the 8:15am incident in which 37 other people were injured, some of them seriously. Police are looking for two people of Somali origin who left the parcel at the scene and escaped. They were allegedly dropped by a taxi driver and intended to board a bus when the explosion occurred. They ran away from the scene and disappeared into the crowd. “We are looking for the two men who are said to have run away from the scene minutes before the explosion occurred,” one detective said. Led by the police commissioner Mohammed Hussein Ali, CID director Karanja Gatiba and the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit commander Nicholas Kamwende, detectives sealed off the area adjacent to Ambassadeur Hotel where the explosion occurred. Maj-Gen Ali said the incident was a minor explosion which was being treated as a criminal case. “One person died and 31 others were injured during the incident. Everything else has been left to the investigations and we should not speculate,” Maj-Gen Ali told journalists at the scene. Bomb experts with five sniffer dogs searched the scene for clues. Mr Joshua Kilonzi, who claimed to have seen the suspects, said the two were carrying a bag which exploded minutes after he alighted from a bus near the blast scene. Officers from the bomb disposal unit, scenes of crime and CID collected papers with Arab inscriptions and English translations. Several people, including the driver and conductor of a bus that had just departed from the bus stop before the explosion recorded statements over claims that the two suspects tried to board the bus but were stopped. Others who recorded statements included all those who had been in the City Gate Restaurant and its vicinity when the explosion occurred. Police have also recorded statements from some of the injured in various hospitals. According to detectives, the explosive could have blown up before the suspects reached their intended destination. The following is the full statement by Maj-Gen Ali which was issued by police spokesman Eric Kiraithe. “This morning at about 0815hrs, a small explosion occurred outside the City Gate Restaurant situated along Moi Avenue outside the City Centre. "One person was killed and over 30 others were injured. Doctors have confirmed that none of the injuries is life threatening. “Presently, police investigators are pursuing promising leads to ascertain the identity of the perpetrators and possible motive(s) that led to this incident. “To begin with, a post-mortem is being conducted to assist in investigations over the precise cause of death and samples will be sent for further investigations both in local and foreign laboratories. “Additionally, explosives experts and other forensics detectives are going on with investigations. So far, debris from the scene is being examined for traces of explosives. Police are recording statements from persons who were at the scene. “Initial investigations show that the source of the explosion was extremely small. At the scene, only glass windows within a two-metre radius were shattered and injuries sustained are relatively minor. A public service commuter bus which was at the scene had its windscreen shattered and has been driven off to the police yard for further investigations. No traces of combustion or high explosives were detected from the scene. “We understand and appreciate the need to solve such cases expeditiously to allay public concerns that quite often are fanned by rumours or distorted information. It is, however, prudent to be realistic and recognise that all investigations take time. “...We shall periodically provide briefings and updates without jeopardising the conduct of investigations. “I wish to thank all the emergency services for their prompt action and particularly Kenyatta Hospital, St John’s Ambulance and others. In a nutshell, our disaster management procedures worked well. “Most importantly we are appealing to any person with any information on this incident to contact the Police as soon as possible. Source

Her recent remarks that sparked this media boom was merely based on re-translating parts of the Quran, to kind of accomodate the modern woman in a better way. As said by Northerner, she may be craving for only a more understandable version of the Quran(Translation). But I doubt she ment that and I don't think that was an honest request. (Taken into consideration her way of living). She is merely a vehicle used by the "civilised" to ridicule and provoke the muslim society and particularly Somalis. She accuses Somalis of being ignorant, unintegrated and running their own race outside the mainstream society. In one of the TV-debates, she raised a quetion on women's place in the mosque and why they are seperated from men in the mosque. She particularly used a particular event as an argument. This was when the Foreign minister paid a visit to one of the mosques in Oslo and he was only met by men and the girls had to listen to his speech from the gallery( This was becoz he visted the Men's wing). But was later met by by women. But her remarks were not as irritating as the Muslim council's. She isn't worth all these attention not mentioning the beating. That was needless. We gave her what she wanted and what the the Norwegian society love to hear; That we are violent and intolerant. And those saying she did nothing wrong in bursting those Imams' views on FGM. That's being naive. We have several Somali women in Norway publicly fighting FGM and they are backed by the Somali community. PS; Spying on Muslim fellows is unislamic. Read what Islam has to say about this in a Islamic article attached to one of the previous threads.

The problem is not islam, the problem are the attituedes of extremists who think they are always right. and these days extremists are folks who think islam is a problem. You are beating the bush coz you misquoted me. You are claiming that I have said things that I didn't say in my previuos threads. All that I did was stating some facts which do not, in anyway, portray my fundamental views on Islam or Muslims. You are too quick to judge people. A trait I would advice you to be aware of. Try to grasp the irony here gutten min!

Can I ask you what are your views on blacks? You are biased against muslims thats what i am saying, maybe it the environment you live in. Fight fundementalism homeboy, even that fundementalist-we-know-it-all-liberal-crap. Which means right=wrong and wrong=right. Where prostitution is legal, but if you pray you must be a terrorist. Where you go to a club everynight of the week, but if you visit a place of worship once a week then your a bad person. What I am saying is we live in a bizarro-world where right is wrong and and wrong is right. Where muslims are attcked because they are differnet, there is allot of racism in these 'criticisms'. You are beating the bush jamani!

No idea of what u talking about. did u get my point? What is not so obvious here? @ "me"

Originally posted by me: ^not really, you implied that beating is soimething that only Somali or Islamic people do. So explain yourself how did you come to that thought? its not a velgid bra thought if you ask me. Jepp. She has now achieved her goal. She is enjoying the largest media attention she could ever dream of. Even one of the countries famous ministers offered her any help she may need. And it would be shameful if what she claims turns to be true, that 7-8 men atacked her. 7-8 Farahs against one Halimo. That must have been hell of a fight!

Some Somali girl in Norway suggests that the Quran's view on women needs to be re-translated. She means the Quran gives little space to the modern woman and its time to re-translate.She was later beaten up by a gang of Somalis. link: http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=145630 (Written in Norwegian with her picture) This is the same girl that took on hidden camera and bursted some imams supporting circumcision in 2001/2.

Its now the US and Bush's turn to be taken to court for the crimes ALLEGEDLY comitted by the late Saddam Hussein and the latest masacres in the on-going "war on terrorism" All the charges against Saddam were comitted under the watch or the auspices of the United States. US supported the Saddam regime in favor of Iran. The war costed both countries many innocent lives. The US praised Saddam during the 80's while almost all the alleged charges against him were comitted in the 80's. Meaning the crimes were comitted under their watch. Both the Dujail massacre he was convicted of before his death and the gassing of the Kurds took place while he had the support of the US. He only turned to be adictator after declining to work with them and chose Arab nationalism. That's when the western media started demonising him. Saddam's execution was a personal revenge carried out by the puppet government on behalf of Bush. The Bush family had a personal grudge against Saddam because of the failed assasination attempt on Bush sr. in Kuwait. But the burning question is, was justice served to the victims and families of the Anfal genocide, the chemical attack on Halabja, and invasion of Kuwait. He was never convicted of these charges. Why the rush of excuting him before being charged for all these crimes? That if he did commit. In a nutshell he was deprived of justice as the court was just a marionette, run by vassals. Why in a Holy day? What a provocative and dehumanising act! President Saddam would be, due to the circumstances sorounding the hearing, considered a hero by many and to many who never considered him one before. The Arab nation lost a true nationalist and a great statesman.

amazing! eat lots of banana and avoid junk food since its implicated with serious cerebral disorders. Waa cajiib, how it can work against hangovers and at the same time contain the aminosyre which stimulates the brain to secrete substances like serotinin and melatonin which are sleep-inducing and makes you relaxed and not busy.

A typical African despot but at the same time a unique creature. He declared himself King of Scotland, banned hippies and mini-skirts, and appeared at a royal Saudi Arabian funeral in 1975 wearing a kilt. He awarded himself the Victoria Cross, offered to visit Northern Ireland as a peace mediator, and said that he, not the Queen, should be head of the Commonwealth. Quoutes by a bbc jounalist that had an interview with Amin Dada:- By the end of the interview, Amin was back to his benign, childishly humorous persona. From his huge frame, he shook hands powerfully with each of us and declared: "It seems to me the people of Great Britain are getting smaller and smaller". Idi Amin quotes: -------------------------------------------------- I myself consider myself the most powerful figure in the world. ------------------------------------------------ I ate them before they ate me.
