The port is being renovated guys. The first phase has been completed cleaning out the rubbish around the port area, The second phase has begun and dredging of the port to make it a deep-sea port to accomodate larger ships and weights. The port expansion is going to be excellent to open up more docking berths for larger ships like the WFP without taking up the whole space. The project includes also clearing up the road to the port so its more organised and not a bottleneck. This is a long over-due infrastructure project

The traditional elders have very strong foundation in Puntland like other gulf regions. So if Puntland is following any model it wont be nigeria's its not the same system, the isims are very powerful in Puntland where-as their counterparts in mogadishu and hargeisa are weak or even non-existent.
