I think it is time to open up this debate. As of 2012 which city in Somalia can be given the title "the most developed city of Somalia and fastest growing city of Somalia"? There are really 3 fore-runners 1. Bosaso 2. Mogadishu 3. Hargeisa My ratings of the above city are; I think as a whole marki region vs region la firiyo, I think Puntland is really taking the cake!!! Primarily because the amount of cities that are booming in every sector is unseen in any other parts of somalia at such wide scale over different cities and towns. However I think marki la firiyo city vs city, it's a tough call. Mogadishu might be war-torn, however Bakara markets is well developed and the skyline is just amazing, plus the city undoubtebly has the best infrastructure in the nation when you look at the ports, roads, and airports!!! However marki la firiyo hotels, residential properties, hospitals, basic water, electricity, sanitation and investments, I think it is sorely lacking compared to other cities of Somalia. Hargeisa is looking good too with a few towers here and there but the city is more a residential market focused city. They have probably the best hotels in all of Somalia marki quality la firiyo and some nice houses. It sorely behind other cities of Somalia in basic sanitation, electricity, entrepeneurship, hospitals, and education is below par !!! Bosaso is looking good too as far as the skyline is concerned, its probaby the best city in terms of enterpreneurial spirit(the amount of things opening there in the business/agricultural/oil space is unmatched). Hospitals, Schools, Water, Sanitation are top level. Electricity is backwards with alot of outages but may change if SEPCO opens up. Its bad points are the infrastruture is way behind Somalia particularly roads, airport, and port..All of which are being worked on as we speak in-particularly roads and port. So its hard to choose which city in Somalia is the most developed for me, because each city has its own strength. Residential properties and hotels=hargeisa (but damn is garowe coming close), Business/Enterpeneurial=Bosaso...Infrastructure= Mogadishu...Education and Hospitals= Bosaso...Electricity is below standard in all cities. Investments are stronger in Hargeisa and Bosaso. So its tough call for me, as far im concerned I think each city has its strength and weaknesses

Listen as far as im concerned Farole presidency ends in 2013 January, I remember when he took office and I put that in my calendar as the election date for the next election. Thats what I was expecting, We need a democratic, transparent and accountable government for its people and farole is not being transparent regarding these illegal presidential extension terms, I remember hearing about the presidential term being extended, however I ignored it because at that time it was mere rumours and then I heard it was brought before parliament and then I was like "oh ok this is serious" and after that I never heard of it again. I agree 100% with the dr farole on this matter, somaliland and puntland issue is a regional matter and will be resolved at the regional level. The last thing we need is mogadishu entering and siding with either one and making the situation turn into a war. The issue will be settled in garowe Somaliland status is an issue that remains not for the mogadishu government but garowe the constitution makers

Its quite happy to see how fast Puntland is developing over the years and when I say this, I mean the following; First of all their confirmed residential/commercial/tourist boom happening in Puntland across the ballpark and not just 1 city Qardho Carmo El-Dahir Garowe Bosaso Waciye Their is probably tons of other unconfirmed boom towns occuring however the above is confirmed. Their is the biggest most modern parliament and presidential palace being constructed in garowe as we speak, I mean this will make other somali parliaments look so ineffective and tinshed like. Their is multi national investments flowing into the region. For example the amount of foreign workers is just totally mind blowing from all over the world, working at our international port, construction projects, and not to mention other somalis and africans who are there by the thousands. There is huge boom happening also in the education front with schools constructing and reforms taking place to make all puntland education institution of high quality. High school reforms have proven very successful and now is being applied also to primary schools to have one centralised high quality curriculum. Health sector is booming also, a major hospital in galkayo is in the works, plus a major national medical college in garowe and mental health facilities and women centers are in the pipleline for the capital. Existing health sector facilities are being modernized and health initiatives like immunisation and free surgeries have proven to be successful hit with the locals. Water Sector is happening very strongly and more suburbs are being piped in galkayo and regional towns have been given a boost of $25 million for their water projects by the EU. Electricity sector is going ok and Bosaso has second major public gridline utility underway known as sepco and garowe public utility is going towards using windfarms as electricity generator. Sporting sector is going at a steady rate and the first major multiplex sporting facility is phase 3 final construction mode and will host w0ith facilities such as a international grassed and fully lighted stadium that will have changing rooms for home and visiting teams and a grand-stand. It will also have a track field, handball courts, basketball courts, offices for administration, and orphanage facility. Existing sporting grounds are being upgraded also across the state. Infrastructure sector is going at a steady rate. The galkayo airport is to recieve a brand-spanking new terminal facility which is nearly completed and the runway is being upgraded. Garowe airport is starting from the scratch and the airport is operational however not completed. A modernised terminal is under construction once completed the runway will be paved. Bosaso airport only has the runway left. Everything else has been completed. The terminal, parking facilities, the fountains and foyer areas and even hotels are being built near it as express style hotels. The port facility in Bosaso is in its second phase to expand its capacity to be a deep-sea port. Road sector is booming across the state. Existing roads are being upgraded one of which is the famous garowe-galkayo stretch is being upgraded completely from one end to the other. Feeder roads are happening through nearly every city of the state and even remote regions. Bosaso city road network is underway which is a major project to pave 10km of the city in the major road congested areas. JPLG has given 12 million to the road sector in off-the-road project Business sector is going well and the local business community is more then ever united under in the puntland commerce chambers to strategise where investments should be directed to make the state productive in all sectors. The manufacturing age has been officially declared and plans are under-way to make it a reality.So dont be suprised when you car manufacturing in puntland has opened and so forth, you have been warned. Multi-nationals are being to flood the region and invest. As for investments golis, tawakal, iftin are all building major headquarters in bosaso and garowe. Resource Sector is going well which is a new sector in Puntland. Drilling is under-way in dharoor and oil find has been confirmed and infact is alot more then the expected 17 billion barrels. Major talks are occuring with the big oil companies like shell and bp who are said to have an interest in the offshore oil of puntland which is said to be in the 100 billion barrell range which I already knew and always mentioned it whenever oil was talked about.
