Chelsea's salamon Kalou and his Somali Bilcaan!!
Sherban Shabeel replied to Cawaale's topic in General
The man is talented and successful (and rich), and deserves to have a hot girlfriend, be she Somali or not. As for the brothers who are all shocked and crying out against a Somali girl going out with a gallo (as if it's the first time LOL), that's just good old jealousy rearing its ugly head. Like those bitter Armenians on the internet when the Kim Kardashian sextape came out. -

Originally posted by Jamaal11: Mind you, those of us who support Shariif's government are not all of the same clan as that of Sharif. I'm not even the same nationality or religion as Shariif and I still support him. And it's not because he's the "gallo's choice". During the Ethiopian invasion, Shabaab had my full support. Even after the Ethiopians left, I was still hoping Shariif would somehow include them in the government. It's only in May of this year that I lost faith in them. I support Shariif because I sincerely believe he is a kind-hearted man who wishes the best for his nation, he is young, he is not a good politician, and therefore he is the best man for the job.

It gets really boring when people won't leave the dead horse alone. The Yey's TFG = Shariif's TFG is THE DEAD HORSE, a poor argument that has been debunked over and over and over again on this forum. But those who use it outright IGNORE everything we say and keep bringing it up like goats who regurgitate their food to chew it again, to justify their jealousy and clan-hatred. "Oh look you like this guy, but when our uncle was doing the same thing you hated him because of his qabiil!" It would be cool if Republicans did that to Obama "oh look there's still troops in Iraq, Guantanamo is still open, he's just like Bush, but you hated Bush because he was white" The difference btw Obama and Bush is like that between sky and earth. Same thing goes for Shariif and Yey. You're just taking advantage of the fact that one is in a hard spot because he has to clean up the mess the other has left behind.

My guess is that peacenow is a Somali who is saddened to the point of anger about the way Somalia has become. People in pain tend to lash out at everybody. Oops, I'm being presumptuous

Maybe this is the solution to the conflict in Somalia. If the politics section of this forum is anything to go by, a future when all Somalis can get along nicely is a fantasy. But if you destroy all the AKs and PKMs and RPGs etc, and replace them with knives, the killing might wind down. Any child can press a trigger, but it takes a very strong man to stab someone to death. P.S.: Beautiful knives btw, I wonder how much the man charges.

Is Barack Obama a deserving winner of the Nobel Peace Prize?
Sherban Shabeel replied to cynical lady's topic in General
Maybe the award wasn't so much a recognition of his achievements as much as an encouragement. He can't exactly go invading other countries and destroying rainforests now that he has won a Nobel Peace Prize. The Prize seems like a preemptive measure to make sure he won't be forced by the "invisible hands" behind the curtains into the aggressive politics of his predecessor(s). -
Its OFFICIAL: Ethiopia did the abduction in Galkacyo.
Sherban Shabeel replied to MoonLight1's topic in Politics
Somalia's semi-autonomous region of Puntland has protested to Ethiopia, accusing its forces of carrying out a cross-border undercover operation. Puntland's security minister told the BBC two people were in hospital after Ethiopian forces entered Galkayo town at night and raided a house. He said Ethiopian officers had shot one man and abducted another, later dumping him by road with a bullet wound. Ethiopian forces were in southern Somalia until they withdrew in January. Puntland Security Minister Abdullahi Said Samatar said the forces must have crossed over from Ethiopia's Somali region, also known as the ******, where rebels are fighting the government. But he said until a police investigation was finished it was not possible to say if it was connected to the unrest in the ******. "Our relationship with Ethiopia has always been good, but we cannot accept security forces intervening in this way," he told the BBC's Somali Service. Rebels seeking independence for the Somali-speaking population in Ethiopia have operated in the ****** since 1984. Correspondents say they seemed to get a new lease of life when Ethiopia troops went into Somalia to oust the Islamist administration from Mogadishu in late 2006. Earlier this year, Ethiopia withdrew but Islamist groups now dominate much of southern and central Somalia, with a UN-backed government restricted to parts of the capital. Puntland has been an ally of Ethiopia since it broke away to run its own affairs in 1998, seven years after Somalia descended into clan warfare. (BBC) -

LOL after all the *****ing from certain native puntlanders on this forum about Ethiopians sneaking in to South Somalia, this is welcome news. Maybe this will shut them up already. -
The main hospital in Somalia's capital Mogadishu has received a warning not to accept aid from foreign charities. Leaflets were scattered near the Medina hospital emblazoned with guns and grenades threatening staff, patients and aid groups including the Red Cross. No-one has claimed responsibility, but a BBC reporter in Mogadishu says the pamphlets are typical of those distributed by Islamist insurgents. Somalia is wracked by conflict between rebels and the weak government. The BBC's Mohammed Olad Hassan in Mogadishu says the leaflets accuse doctors of giving treatment to "apostate soldiers" - believed to mean government troops. He says the pamphlets refer to the hospital as a military site. Medina Hospital director Dr Muhammad Yusuf said staff were disappointed by the leaflets, but the warnings would not deter them from carrying out their duties. An official from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said the organisation was aware of the threat and was taking steps to ensure the work of the hospital was not affected. Somalia last had a functioning central government in 1991. Since then numerous armed groups have been fighting for control of the country. Islamist groups dominate much of southern and central Somalia, while the UN-backed government only runs parts of the capital. (BBC)

Also, as an Orthodox I don't recognize the authority of the Pope, but taking a virtual dump on the Pope isn't cool either. It's just ignorant.

1. ^co-sign. What is this doing in the politics section? 2. Congratulations to all Muslim brothers and sisters for the increase in followers of the wonderful religion which is Islam. 3. That being said, it would be nice if some posters on this forum (not saying any names) would refrain from badmouthing Christianity. Not for my sake, because I'm just one member and this is a Somali and Muslim forum after all. But for the sake of truth. Christianity is far from dying, as its more than 2 billion followers would testify. Also bear in mind that these Christian nations who you ridicule because "churches are turned into mosques and carparks" are allowing you to practice your religion openly and make mosques and even invite others to convert to Islam. When will the day come when I will be able to build an Orthodox church in Saudi Arabia or Somalia, let alone attempt to convert people to Christianity (which I would never do because other people's religion is not my business)? A little more respect please, because religion isn't a contest of "look at me I have more followers than you, God loves me more", it's about having faith and doing as much good as you can and as little evil as you can.

^you dont get AIDS if a condom is worn and you don't exchange fluids with someone. As for the morality of having sex before marriage, and adultery, that's a heavy subject.

While I cannot claim to have nearly as much wisdom as an imam, I believe this could have been done in a much more diplomatic way. No need for a ban, the Sheikh could have just spoken out to educate people and to tell them Islam doesn't demand the niqab in women, and much less in school-girls. An information campaign as opposed to an outright ban. People should be able to wear what they wish. Personally, I suspect that there is more to this than meets the eye, and the fatwa might have been declared out of security concerns as well. Since bombings happened in Iraq with men disguised as women in niqab, how should security react when a niqab-wearing woman walks into a govt. building or a form of public transportation? It would be rude to demand her to show her face, but isn't it dangerous not to do so?

These 'fellow Somalis' of yours couldn't care less about you. You are a nobody who NEVER EVER had anything positive to say about ANYONE or ANYTHING outside of Puntland. Bitter people like you tend to die from cancer, God protect you from it.
