  5. fist and foremost i have tremendous respect for those brothers and sisters who are able to ignore society's 'fashions' and opt for Hijaab, niqaab and general Islamic attire. Our prophet PBUH has encouraged us to consider Deen/Piety as a key issue in terms of selection criteria (above say looks, family background and wealth).. having said that.. I believe that these days outwordly ritualistic displays of religiousness, does not necessarily make one a true believer. True belief comes from the heart. In a Muslim it comes from having the Taqwa or the presence of Allah (SWT) in one's conscience and love of the Creator. Good behavior is a significant part of a Muslim's identity. I think some Muslim's would argue that a truly pious husband could never be unkind. I don't know what to think of that? Since such a line of thinking could excuse people and allow for much oppression and injustice, in the name of Islam! 6. Living in the West, would you want to marry a religious person? By 'religious', I mean not only somebody who is observant of the basic acts of worship eg. prayer and fasting. But in addition, somebody who views themselves as 'culturally Muslim'. With a certain dress code, mannerisms, view toward the opposite sex and general outlook on life.

  10. So what kinda kid were you back in the days? A normal law abiding angle or a little shaydaan menace who always made trouble?? Eitherway you must have done some type kid shit that is still stuck in your head to this very day.. • Myself.. I was a little devil when I was a kid, I remember waaay back when I was 6 years old, me and my older brother (one year older) were in the storage room attempting to smoke matches, (lighting a match then putting it in our mouth to puff the smoke) so while doing that I lit a match and threw it behind me in the storage room which happened to contain some gasoline and paint dad was using to paint one of our rooms.. and before we even noticed, the whole apartment building was on fire, hell broke loose… the firemen came and were able to put out the fire and alhamdulilaah no one was hurt!! Now I was expecting a whoop *** from my dad, mom, uncle or aunt who happened to be at home that evening, they didn’t touch me.. they only yelled at me, but guess what,, this distant relative who was staying with us for Omrah whooped my a$$ like there is no tomorrow……. Loool.. • The second incident took place when I was probably 7, it was around 6 in the morning when my 5 year old brother woke me up and asked me to fix him some breakfast, so i got up and went to the kitchen and Luckily the cangeero and the shaax were already cooked, I grabbed a plate placed some canjeero on it, put it in front of my brother (who was sitting on the ground) went back to the kitchen brought the Jalamad of Shaax and tried to pour the shaax on the plate while standing.. the steam coming out from the boiling shax burned my hand, so I let go the kettle (jalamada) and the damn boiling shaax poured over my brother!!! His a$$ screamed so loud that our neighbors woke up, he was rushed to the hospital and was treated for 2nd degree burns to his chest and legs which left some ugly scares that were still visible 3 years ago lool.. and boooooy my a$$ got hold of some nice Saudi style *** whooping I still remember to this day.. Please feel free to pitch in with those funny crazy accidents you had when you were a kid..

  13. You don’t have to stop breathing… And for your heart to quit bounding And lie motionless in a casket To be pronounced DEAD!! Many of us don’t know there are dead people walking around us.... We see them everyday.. They eat They drink They go to school They laugh They cry But they don’t know they are dead But if we think of it..... different people have different perceptions of being dead And most of the time that revolves around what’s important to them.. Some people may feel their life has ended when they lose someone they love… They think life is meaningless without that person.. And there are some people who feel like their life has been stripped away from them when they get surrounded by failure Academically or practically They feel dead inside if they fail a class or lose a job And there are those who feel dead when they get afflicted by familial problems.. Who live with an abusive husband or wife.. and made their life a living hell.. All those I mentioned are not necessarily as dead as those whom heart died Yes I am talking about those are in immersed concern with worldly objectives Those who violate Allah’s sanctities abandon his religion and shun away from words of dacwah they are deaf and blind to anything except what is evil Those are whom the prophet PBUH told us they cant differentiate Halaal from Haraam So my dear nomad, brother, and sister… I am calling on myself and you all… to purify your heart And cleanse it from any passion that challenges what Allah commands, or disputes what He forbids. And always keep your heart alive.. Salaamu alikum
  14. how do you guys feel when the US media brands the Iraqi resistance to the occupation to be some “terrorist backed by Al qaida” ?

  17. Originally posted by New-nation: as you may know that many british people opposed the war and they took streets of london and other cities, where more than million people domonstated against the war. Now government is underfire, people accused the government of lieing. the government now has a difficult task to talk other issues than iraq war. i think those who took the decision to attack iraq are nervous and will receive their bayback in polling day. best wishes [/QB] One thing I have noticed is that confused Americans still believe in the nonsense, promoted by the White House and neo-conservatives, that Iraq was behind the 9/11 attacks and was bristling with deadly weapons that could annihilate the US and UK `in 45 minutes and had to be invaded!! Seems to me that Iraqis, Iranians, Pakistanis, Saudis, Taliban, and al-Qaida, are all too much for many geographically and historically challenged Americans who don’t care weather their government lied to them about the invasion of iraq or not. They simply wanted to see some muslims get screwed in retaliation for 9-11. doesn’t matter if they did it or not.. I scanned the American cable news networks for a single voice challenging the distortions and bunkum coming from the White House and neo-conservative networks, and sure enough there were none.. looks like muffling up the war criticism on their media was part of the war plans!!! The British and Canadian media however, carried both pro and anti-war views; similar to the article you posted, as a result there was far more healthy skepticism in both nations about the war than in America. Don’t get me wrong though.. cuz I believe the Brit and Canadian media still belong to the same trash pin the American media lies in… Thank you so much for the Article New Nation, and yes, I hope it gives all the American wanabees a black eye

  19. This is a joke walaahi.. please read about those poor immigrants who's mind been exploited by the american dream!! By the way.. there are reports that 50,000 of the US troops in Iraq are immigrant latinos!!! U.S. grants status for so-called green card soldiers killed in action. By Robert J. *Lopez* and Rich Connell , Times Staff Writers Los Angeles Times Thursday April 03, 2003 Home Edition California Part B Page 1 Metro Desk 27 inches; 931 words The U.S. awarded citizenship Wednesday to two Southern California Marines who were killed in Iraq, including one who according to records lied about his age to win residency after entering the country illegally. Lance Cpl. Jose A. *Gutierrez* of Lomita and Cpl. Jose A. Garibay of Costa Mesa died in the first three days of the war, putting the spotlight on thousands of so-called green card soldiers who have volunteered to fight for their adopted homeland. The posthumous citizenships were granted as legislators in Sacramento were preparing to debate a resolution urging Congress to grant citizenship to all legal immigrants who are discharged honorably from the armed services. "They take the ultimate test many Americans never take: picking up arms for this country," said state Sen. Dean Florez (D-Shafter), who is sponsoring the resolution. More than 37,000 noncitizens serve in the military, and their numbers have grown about 30% since 2000. Of the first 10 Californians killed in the war, five were noncitizens. *Gutierrez,* 28, was stationed at Camp Pendleton. He was believed to be the second U.S. soldier killed when his battalion battled Republican Guard forces March 21 near the port town of Umm al Qasr in southern Iraq. *Gutierrez* was orphaned as a boy in Guatemala. He hopped railcars across Mexico and entered the United States illegally in early 1997. He told authorities he was 16, ensuring him special consideration as a minor with no parents. That cleared the way for him to become a dependent of Los Angeles County and receive permanent residency, according to Juvenile Court records unsealed after a request by The Times. In fact, *Gutierrez* was 22, according to a certified copy of his birth certificate obtained from the municipal registrar in his home town of Escuintla. Records from an orphanage in Guatemala City where *Gutierrez* lived for about 10 years also show that he was 22 when arrived in the United States. Immigration officials said Wednesday that they relied on information provided by *Gutierrez,* who declared on a federal form in late 1997 that he was an undocumented foster child. He was granted legal residency in February 1998. "Given the heroic circumstances of the Marine lance corporal's death, we doubt any new information would negatively affect the request for citizenship," said Francisco Arcaute, spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, formerly the INS. *Gutierrez's* citizenship was requested by his sister Engracia Cirin, his only family member, who filled out the forms with the help of Marines at the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City, officials said. She will receive no benefits from her brother's citizenship, which is an honorary status commemorating his heroism. Cirin, who is in Los Angeles awaiting the arrival of her brother's body, was unavailable Wednesday for comment. She previously told The Times that *Gutierrez* was 16 when he entered the United States. One of *Gutierrez's* former foster mothers said he would have been pleased about receiving his citizenship. "He once told me, 'I was born the day I arrived in this country,' " said Martha Espinosa of Gardena. The other Marine granted citizenship, Garibay, was 21. He came to the United States from a small town in Jalisco, Mexico, when he was 2 months old. The former Newport Harbor High football player died with six other Marines on March 23 during heavy fighting near the city of Nasiriyah. Immigration officials said Garibay's mother had requested his citizenship. "I'm happy because he deserves being a citizen," said his sister Cristal Garibay, speaking on behalf of the family from their Costa Mesa home. An altar of flowers and photos of Garibay in his uniform stood on the porch. "He was probably more American than Mexican," his sister said. There was confusion Wednesday over the status of Marine Pfc. Francisco Martinez, a green card holder from Duarte who died March 25 when his tank plunged into a river in southern Iraq. Marines told the family that he became a citizen earlier this year, according to his sister, Nayeli Martinez. But immigration officials said the Marine had not completed the process, and the family must still request posthumous citizenship. The family of another Marine killed in Iraq is not expected to seek citizenship. Lance Cpl. Jesus Suarez del Solar of Escondido declined an earlier opportunity to become a citizen, his father said. His son was proud of being Mexican and "didn't want to lose the ties to the family," Fernando Suarez del Solar said. As part of the war on terrorism, President Bush issued a temporary order in July making all green card soldiers immediately eligible for citizenship, eliminating a three-year waiting period. The number of military personnel seeking citizenship has jumped fourfold since, officials say. Florez wants the California Legislature to support a more generous policy: permanently ensuring that all immigrants are eligible for citizenship when they receive an honorable discharge. "That's just the minimum thing we should be giving people who have served," he said. In the past, soldiers who didn't complete naturalization during active duty found themselves bogged down later in bureaucracy, he said. One was Hector Casillas, an East Los Angeles Vietnam veteran who thought he was made a citizen when left the Army in 1967. Years later, he found the paperwork had not been completed. It took him until 1987 to be sworn in. "You're part of an American team out there," he said. "It's a big disappointment when you have to stand in line to get what you think you deserve."
