Not true saxiib.. We know this guy and his history. He was nothing to do with DadJ or Hag.. He is well connected with and respected by the international community. That said, I dought Hassan would name him.

I don't usually post but I am a regular observer of the forum. Salam to all. I had a chance to speak to a good friend in Kismayo today. Contrary to what some Somali portals are reporting, things are going rather well. The Gedo folks have finalized their delegates. The Ugaas led the process and reached agreement with other elders/stakeholders from Gedo state. The other two states have yet finalize their delegates but its a matter of time and negotiations. Mr. Hiiraale is in town but came alone. He is being closely monitored and is by no means threat to the city or the process.

How timely. This is unfortunate but true. Zenawi is truelly one of the best politions in the region. I don't like him at all, but you must admit he know how to play the somalis very well. Just in the last couple of weeks Sh. Sharif, Madoobe, Faroole, Ahlu-Sunna were in Adis presenting thier progress reports.

This is really funy. You know, I just recalled they recently hired an Indian manager to run operation or something. This is really true, they hired some indian guy with corporate experiance to help them run the company. I bet he is behind this thing that went all wrong...

Are you guys blind or something?? Sharif wears a hat and has beard. -
I once met a brother who was under 30 and married 12 times - no kidding. He swore there was good reason why he divorsed all except the two (or three I forget) that he was still maried too. That is what happens when you search for perfection.

When I read the story(not sure if it's serious or not) but this verse came to my mind. 39:53 Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah. for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. When one give up on Allah's mercy, that is when Satan wins. Keep hope and struggle and one will win over Satan insha'Allah.

humble - saxiib, it's ramadan the name calling won't hurt me but do spare your fasting. my appologies if you were offended. I asked you a question and you responded with some repetitive phrases. I expected more. Fu-Fu, I didn't give a full analysis of the situation. I just stated my opinion of these honorable men who stood up for what they believed in.

humble, I thought you had a position on this but I am realizing that you have no idea what you're talking about. Please read the article fully and study the event before commenting.

humble, how were they ignorant. What they said was that inheritance should be based on islamic law in an islamic country. Can you tell me what is wrong with that?

These men are shahiids and should be remembered as such. The best of jihad is "a rightous word in the presence of arrogant ruler" and that is exactly what they did.

Daandureey, it's important to ask these questions, otherwise you never know. There are rules that govern what contitutes a Hijab. "A pretty hijb, with nice perfume" as you put it does not qualify as a hijaab neither does a hair wig . My understanding is that you are trying to please Allah by wearing a Hijab so do it in a way that he will be pleased with. Here are the charrecteristics of a hijab acording to http://darulislam.in fo. The Extent of Covering -The dress worn in public must cover the entire body except what has been specifically excluded (face, hands etc) Thickness - The garment should be thick and opaque so as not to display the skin color and form of the body beneath it Looseness - The clothing must hang loosely enough and not be so tight-fitting as to show the shape and size of the woman's body. Color and Appearance - Allah has commanded women not to display their beauty, meaning both natural and acquired beauty. Difference from men's Clothing - The clothing of a Muslim woman must not resemble the clothing of men (relative to the particular culture). NO vain or Ostentatious Dressing - The woman's dress must noble an expression of ostentation, vanity or as a status symbol by being excessively showy or expensive, nor must it be excessively tattered so as to gain admiration and fame for being humble (Libaasu ashuri -applies to men too). Ramadan karim to you sister.

Insha'allah Sayid.. Also, here is a link to the organization that made the video and actually made a difference. I was also thinking about inviting them to Minnesota and organizing a fundraising event. I am just not sure about their background but will do some digging. I don't want my money and efforts to be used to prostalize. I would rather donate to a muslim organization that has access to the region. http://thedenanproje ct.com/

You know, the world is a funny place. Where I live non-Muslims are becoming Muslims by the day. There is hardly a Friday prayer when someone new is not accepting Islam. Now the people that I are becoming Muslims are educated Americans who have a good understanding of not only science but also other religions. and you know what, they are better Muslims than we are for the most part. For example, I met a guy about 6 years ago and he told me then that he has been a Muslim for 2 years. I saw the same guy couple weeks ago with a degree is Islamic Sharia and Arabic from the University of Medina. He is now a sheikh!! So when I see someone claiming to be a Somali (and therefore a former Muslims) saying they no longer believe, I wonder who is missing out. Somali09, Islam does not need you.. it's you who needs Islam. I hope you realize that sooner than later. Allah says: Say: O disbelievers! (1) I worship not that which ye worship; (2) Nor worship ye that which I worship. (3) And I shall not worship that which ye worship. (4) Nor will ye worship that which I worship. (5) Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion. (6)

I was very moved by this story yesterday so I talked to one of my friends who I knew was from the region. He informed me that this was back in 2004 when the region was afflicted by a severe drought. I asked him if there are any Somali organization in the Diaspora that help these people. He said no! So I said why? He said the Ethiopian government does not allow us to help. He said he knows firsthand, many people who tried to make a difference and are now in jail for 10-15 year. Can you believe that? I always knew they are our worst enemy but never imaged they watch people die this way. TAKE NOTE People : Never Ever think Ethiopia will do anything to benefit Somalis. If they are doing this to people who are in citizens of their own country what do you think they have in store for the rest of the Somalis! I am very disappointed that Sh. Sharif and his government are calling on them for help.
