  1. I think: WHY?? All for a place in that book? I don't think she's doing her bladder any favours. I do commend the lady on her endurance. Who was it that mentioned the Guinness Book recently? Juxa? Wait till she reads this.
  2. Double lol at shuban dhiig. Damsel, it is possible for a girl to urinate standing up. There's a whole website dedicated to this technique. The droplets u see are as a result of a lady with weak quadriceps using the hover technique. U need to know these things. Public toilets r one of life's necessities. In countries where there are few, the streets turn into urinals. The women somehow manage to hold it or find a private space but the men, oh no, they happily fumble with their zippers in broad daylight and relieve themselves. I'm all for public toilets, just be considerate and clean up before and after yrself and it should be a relatively risk-free environment. I've seen some shockers in my time.
  3. Any time can be an exciting time to be in London. U just have to know what's happening where. Shopping Xmas fever will be the symptom of November and December. Wait until the 26th/27th of December and then hit the shops in Oxford Street. Go early too- u'll find the best bargains. U won't believe how early the shop Next opens- some ridiculous rooster hour. But that's to yr benefit. Tour By all means, do a tour of London. If u get wet, it's all part of the English experience, enjoy it. Consider a night river cruise down the Thames too. People and food: observe the people and stuff yrself silly with their food. Edgware Road: Arabs, shawarma, felafel etc and the dreaded sheesha. Whitechapel(east): Bangladeshis and Somalis. Brick Lane gets trendier by the day. Walk the down the street and wait for the touts to approach u with their restuarant's latest offer or get a recommendation beforehand. Southall(west): Punjabis and Somalis(can't escape them ). A little piece of India. Spicy food, kitch accessories and Bollywood. What more do u want? Camden: the market and London Zoo. Leicester Square/Covent Garden(central): touristy but what the heck. If the weather gets too bad, head indoors and watch a foreign film at the Curzon cinema- there's one on Shaftesbury Avenue. Walk through China Town. Parks: cold, bleak and beautiful. Try Hampstead Heath or Regent's Park. Museums: most of them are free now. Tate, V&A and Natural History Museum are my favourites. I'm sure there's more but for now.. try: www.toptable.co.uk for restaurants offering discounts and special offers- book online- and www.thisislondon.co.uk for all things London. London is a great place to get cheap tickets to Europe. Make sure the airport u're arriving at isn't too far off from the centre of the city though. U can't go wrong with Paris and Barcelona although some of the Eastern countries are appearing on the map of 'the places to be'- Croatia?. Both Turkey and Tunisia aren't that far off either. Why not mix yr trip to the West with a little East? That's all for now. Enjoy.
  4. Charisma, can I help it if we agree on something ? I merely pointed it out. I wasn't using u as a voice, apologies if it came across as so. Anyway, if Q can't differentiate between who said what and meant what, someone will no doubt break it down for him. However, I have noticed that he does play the 'ma fahmin' card often when he doesn't want to respond to a post yet can't let it go unanswered. SisSade, when I said 'be afraid, be very afraid', did u really think I was being serious? I was being humourous just as I am being now: Q will be on the next plane to yr country of residence(Turkey?). He will want yr hand in marriage. What say ye?
  5. F, a woman who chooses to be a second/third/fourth wife is just as likely or unlikely to be in Allah's good books. It's about choice, get it? Wanting to be the only wife does not make a woman less of a Muslim, get that? Choice, get me? Q, u failed. Charisma has mentioned some of what I would have told u about yrself had u passed. Alas, u flunked. Better luck next time.
  6. LOL @ 'jealous'. What of, man? Originally posted by Qacbaro: I guess only 98% of the girls here say nooo. since we have now 2.. sisade and charisma.. A little something on statistics: 2 out of one hundred would be 2%. 2 in and of itself does not make 2%, leaving behind 98%. Just because 2 are in agreement, does not mean 98 aren't. Count how many said 'nay', divide that number by the total number of females that definitely responded one way or the other and multiply by one hundred. U might be surprised by the answer. And if u're not verbally-leaning, here's the same mathematically: Let 'y' be the number of women in agreement with Qacbaro and by consequence in his good books Let 'z' be the total number of women with definte responses. Let 'x' be the percentage of women in Q's good books. What is x? x = (y/z) * 100 Hint: BODMAS does not really make a difference here. Markaad ka soo shaqeesid xisaabta noo soo sheeg. If u get it right, I'll tell u a little something about what showering those u agree with with compliments reveals about your psyche. Don't forget the % sign. This is not a trick question.
  7. Higher education is not an indication of intelligence or a curious mind or a promise of a fat wallet/purse. The way it puffs some degree-holders up makes me chuckle. An active, curious mind is what to look for. Mind u, if it does go wrong, the infuriatingly clever arguments will send u over the edge. U have been warned.
  8. Q can't agree with a woman without lavishing her with compliments. Be afraid SisSade. Be very afraid.

  11. UFF at what is being repeated over and over.
  12. And while we're not on the subject.. white shirt and blue jeans.. sigh
  13. I quite enjoy reading Somali on SOL. Where else do I get to do that? For me the issue of quality centres around the content of the posts rather than the language. However, what I have noticed is a certain kind of humour/attitude being shared by a regular group of posters. It isn't that it's Somali that is used that bothers me but the kind of Somali. If some of these unpleasant posts were in English they would jump out of the screen more forcibly and perhaps be deleted. Why is there a proliferation of posts like this? Why are they not being dealt with? Is it because they are a novelty or has SOL slackened its monitoring and rules? I like reading the Somali but hey people af xumaanta maxaa idinku wata? My written Somali is weak and I appreciate the opportunity to learn Somali but I find the There's-something-about-Mary humour trying. I wouldn't be surprised if more women complained. A lot of the trashy humour is directed at them. If SOL were a village these offensive posters would be the group of guys hanging together on a street corner the women wouldn't want to walk by. I look forward to browsing the new section. I can't really contribute but I'll certainly be entertained and educated. Those of u who can contribute, less trash more class, please.
  14. Lesson No 1: they come out head first. They do not crawl out, use their arms to hoist themselves out or come sliding down like u would on slides in water parks.
  15. If anybody has any business being put off, it's the woman.. Sometimes I despair of our men. They'd rather not be involved unless there's something in it for them. God help us. Selflessness. Look that one up, boys. And when u're looking it up, borrow the dictionary's spine. Some of y'all sure need it.
  16. There are ways of saying certain things. Some of u haven't got the knack. All I hear is mafrash talk. Stay there while the wife's in labour and drug yrself to the eyeballs. By the sounds of it wax aad tari laheedeen baa iska yar.
  17. Feel a migraine coming on. Second one in less than a week. Soon I will adopt fetal position on a bus crave morphine and consider decapitation Here comes the nausea...Make it bearable dear God.
  18. Being on guard isn't the same as being judgemental and cynical. And what's wrong or modern about tolerance? Am I so perfect that I am without faults and idiosyncracies? No. And where will I be if those that have certain better characteristics refuse to associate with me and place themselves on a higher spiritual pedestal? The devil may have many shades but turning a heart black is one of his most insidious pursuits.
  19. Never scared? We'll see.. Sleep with one one eye open tonight, mate. And make sure u have yr fave cuddly bear with u- u know the one I mean. U're gonna need some comforting.
  20. Yes, I have been naive(for want of a better word) about people. I look back and see what I could have done differently but I am who I am and hind-sight counts for sh*t. I have only good expectations from people. It comes naturally to me. I've tried to change my approach but since it's agianst my nature and belief I fail miserably. Expecting good from people encourages them to do you good too. It is a far healthier approach to being cynical. Khayr, do not be harsh about us Muslims. Each of has a certain capability at any particular time in life. If u feel u are a shining example of a Muslim, yr presence alone will benefit those on a spiritual decline. Expecting perfection and a similar zeal from others will lead to disappointment. More importantly, only Allah knows the full truth of our heart's hidden treasure and disease. I know I'd rather be 'naive' than a cold and distrusting cynic. The heart turns hard when u hold on to bitter memories and that's a spiritually dangerous place to be. Oh and when all's said and done, I'm as fallible as the next gal. Bad experiences force me to evaluate my ways. As long as it isn't a self-destructive analysis, it can't be a bad thing, can it? When the anger and frustration fades, I'm left with the unavoidable- that my trust should only be with Allah. And from that I receive great comfort....... Alxamdullilaah.

    BOREDOM

Why, your single post alone has tipped the mental balance, Mutakalim. Ngongo wants you banned and you ruminate excessively over his thread. Could this be the start of something special? Now that we have a nemesis all we need is a theme tune for this diary/soap...any composers out there?
