Damn! That is indeed admirable. What's admirable about being married and not being there hands-on, helping with the kids, their upbringing, their morals? What good is 'unquestionable' love every few months? What good is an absent father? Every sailor wants a woman in every port but can marriage and fatherhood be just and fair when spread out between continents? U call his attitude cool, I call it COLD.
  7. Red Sea, reality can be filthy. Burying our heads in the sand will not make the filth go away. In fact, we'll be more at risk of that filth damaging our lives. The UK government is launching a £300m campaign to deal with sexual health. The advertising campaign will be the most high-profile of its kind since the HIV and Aids awareness campaign in the 1980s, which featured TV commercials showing tombstones engraved with the words "Don't die of ignorance". Despite greater awareness of the major STIs, chlamydia rose by 9% last year to 89,818, genital warts went up by 2% to 70,883 and syphilis increased by 28% with 1,575 cases in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Most of the cases are occurring in people aged 16-24. Health Secretary John Reid said: "Prevention messages are not getting through. "We need to act now on sexual health - and make it a priority. "We will run an advertising campaign which tells people, especially young people, of the consequences of irresponsible sexual behaviour and of sexually transmitted diseases." full article If more and more men are buying sex(and being reluctant to check themselves) and more women are providing this service(hence statistically more likely to be diseased) , don't you think their risks will filter into the rest of the community? Most prostitutes can not hide their lifestyles, a man that chooses to be in a relationship with one will be more likely to know of her every night activities than a woman in a relationship with a man who engages in sex buying and won't admit it to her let alone be honest enough with himself to get checked. Socod_badne, I know u want to travel the road well-travelled and travelled too much lately but I won't be following u there. If u want a fight(or a mock one), let's keep it relevant to the topic at least. I'll beat you, I promise. Don't be afraid. It's the taking part that counts.
  8. Originally posted by Socod_badne: And I blame you . Yeah all you woman. Sex is rite of passage for us men, a right given to us by Allah. We're entitled to it when we want it, where ever want it, however we want it. Why should men pay for sex at all  Why indeed? If it's a right of passage and u feel so strongly about it maybe u should find another like-minded man and keep one other busy; that way u won't feel so rejected by women in general and those expecting money in particular and u won't be accused of rape when u take it when u want it, wherever u want it, however u want it from a woman. Don't think too hard about that. Just a little. Then a little less. Then not at all. Then forget u ever came across this post and return to that soft, safe place in your head. Cause I'm coming to getchya. Bwahahahaha.
  9. Only a fool would pay for sex. That doesn't mean all men ae fools, nor does it mean all fools are men. It just means only a fool would pay for sex.
  10. "There are more men with money and more women looking for this type of work." Supply and demand.
  11. I don't know that poets care about purpose necessarily when they write but write they do and if it's something positive about our culture I'm all for its proliferation, promotion and proanotherwordIcan'tthinkof. Square it with the owner first and go from there?
  12. How much does self-publishing cost? A collection of the best of SOL poetry- a small pamphlet even sold for a small price(to cover publishing costs and earn a small profit) at Somali establishments with the profit going to a Somali-leaning charity sounds good. On paper. U'd need permission from all involved including the owner of the site and do a hell a lot of running around and organising. I like the sound of an SOL spin-off charity-poetry talent combo. It shouldn't be difficult to work out costs and potential profit; the exposure for the poets would be welcome I'm sure. Just how badly do you want to do this Duke? 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration, u know. And it is Somalis u're dealing with. Gotta factor that into the cost.
  13. 'Twice as many men' pay for sex The number of men paying women for sex has nearly doubled in a decade, UK research suggests. Surveys of 11,000 British adults in 1990 and 2000 found the rate increased from one in 20 to nearly one in 10 men. Rising divorce rates, sex tourism and increasing availability of commercial sex are blamed by the Sexually Transmitted Infections journal. It warns men's lifestyles put them at risk of catching sex diseases, yet few are getting checked in clinics. read in full

  18. Next time a 4-foot white-jeaned, white-shirted, greased up, non-English speaking Turkish stranger gesticulates suggestively at a bus top in the early evening of an otherwise delightful day in southern Turkey, I'll be sure to inquire as to why I was the chosen one. Though I dare say the intention may be lost in my make-shift sign language and misunderstood as a reciprocal and no doubt welcome rude gesture.
  19. I didn't think I was that close to a Castro(secretly pleased) but anywhoo, we understand one another. Resisting temptation to make a double entendre.

  21. they'd be pumped with testosterone. To make them more 'manly'. So that they could give as good as they once got.
