Sky replied to Major-General Cawad's topic in Politics
Its good he had cut his hair in Gaalkacyo. Nice to see the progress of our government. -

Pathetic! How shameful to insult the daughters whom are both married with children in Canada. Waagacusub is not a newswebsite for goodness sake. Just an amateur webpage (even in the Somali Internet context) of a tribal bigot with low self-esteem. Suldaanka your comment is either hypocrite or dumb. How can C/Y sell Kilinka Shanaad? Someone who received medals of honour for the Ugaden War by a regime that hated him. He was the Somali commander who killed the most Ethiopian soldiers and lost the least Somali soldiers from Dollow to Godey. I expect the moderators to delete this inflammatory post.

Its about time. Now let the corrupt mayor of Gaalkacyo follow and Mudug is a lot better off. The new governor of Mudug is a wadaad this time. One of the important members of Sheikh Baardheere's xero in Heema, Bacaadweyn area, Gaalkacyo district. In Cadde Muuse's administration, there are more wadaads than ever before. The whole ministry of Religion is exclusively led by wadaads. ----------------------------------- Gaalkacyo: Madaxwaynaha Puntland oo guddoomiye cusub u magacaabay Gobolka Mudug. - Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 09:07 Gaalkacyo(AllPuntland)- Madaxwaynaha dawlad goboleedka Puntland ayaa maalintii shalay ahayd soo saaray Dikreeto Lambarkeedu ahaa 99 hase ahaatee saxaafadda lasoo gaarsiiyay maanta Sabti ah ,oo uu guddoomiye cusub ugu magacaabayo gobolka Mudug. The Somali government is really starting to like its building up the institutions and services that a government usually provides. Newly appointed local governments will be formed in Somalia and all will be allocated a budget to start working. Xasan Axmed Jaamac Daafeedow used his network to pull a good bargain for the Somali government, like he did for the Puntland government yesteryears. ----------------- Bangalore IT firm bags USD 25 million Somalia e-contracts Bangalore, July. 21 (PTI): Bangalore-based Sobha Renaissance Information Technology (SRIT) bagged 25 million USD worth Somalian e-governance contracts, under which it would develop ePassport and eAuthentication systems for that country. SRIT CEO Madhu Nambiar, told reporters here today that the company would work closely with the Somalian Government in implementing and deploying a successful national passport programme solution. Soon thereafter, SRIT would execute national ID programme, automation of driver licences, vehicle registration and national health programmes, Nambiar said. The e-Passport system will regulate and systemise the issuance of passports to Somalian citizens. Somalia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hasan Ahmed Jama, said in response to a question that SRIT was chosen from among 15 bids of companies based in Asia, Europe and the United States as it "fulfilled our requirements." Jama, accompanied by Special Advisor and spokesperson to President of Somalia Yusuf Mohammed Ismail, and the DG of the PMO, Mohammed Ali Nur, said his country is keen to automate the entire process of authentication of an individual's identity and verify permission. Nambiar said the software part of the turnkey execution would include several core modules including the tracking module which, he added, will ensure a high level of security throughout the personalisation process. "This module would track production in its entirety, providing valuable output reports for the Government's information and analysis," said SRIT, part of the Sobha Group with annualised revenues in excess of USD 210 millions. http://www.hindu.com/thehindu/holnus/006200507211923.htm

^ I don't know if Nomadic was being friendly and used his words clumsy. Or he was indeed trying to pull Goonle's leg.

Here I was thinking that every tribe has the good and the bad and here I was thinking that the tribe of Southern Mudug is like the rest of the Somali tribes. What was I thinking? How dare I look at the fact that this group controls most of the institutions (be they schools, universities or hospitals) down south, along with many businesses instead of knowing that that does not matter because a few men from this group want to set up isbaaro all the way to afgooye. Rahima, they control those institutions, because they directly or indirectly benefit from the military hegemony their clansmen have in that neck of the woods. Muqdisho already was a modern, thriving city with schools, hospitals, universities and colleges. The make up of the business community and primarily the business elite of the south and in this particular case Muqdisho were not made up of people from Southern Mudug and Galguduud, not at all. But by Northeasterners and Northwesterners. These two groups are uprooted from the city and the consequent vacuüm of Muqdisho's business was exclusively filled up by the people that were associated to the USC. These post-1991 companies are Global Money Transfer, NationLink, United Bottling Company etc. (The last one is specifically interesting, because it uses all the equipment of the former Coca Cola producing company in Muqdisho, of which ironically an uncle of mine was the managing director) Ali Baba, You are generalizing too much. It's not a fair image to portray that the Southern Mudug folk are evil, backward savages whom wish this government to fail out of clan hatred and further enjoyment of their acquired war booty.

A-Ladiif you're right this is what I said 10 days ago: Anyhow, I think ONLF should put its guns down and start talks with Addis Ababa, because their inital goal is virtually impossible, at least for now it is. They should pursue Somalis in Ethiopia get their rightful share as 'Ethiopians'. Koley Life goes on doesn't it? I'm glad things are going as I wished them to be. The wellbeing of the Soomaali Galbeed people comes first. Then fight with a full stomach. Somali districts of Baabiile and Jinacsaney were shamelessly incorporated by the Oromia Regional State. Imagine the horror they are going through. Dire Dawa, a Somali city is lost. The Soomaali Galbeed people must strengthen itself in the Ethiopian platform and build from there to recover from their losses.

This problem of the schooling lies not at the feet of the USC as such, but rather those good-for-nothing sufi/xerta odayaal. The problem although is too much to get into here is very deep rooted and alxamdullilah steps are been taken to tackle them, their backward thinking and the hold they have on the people of Southern Mudug in general. The clansmen of the people of Southern Mudug run the best teaching institutions in Mogadishu (from Imam Shafici, Imam Nawawi, Banadir University, SIMAD...) and whilst I was in Somalia, along with well-known businessmen/women they were at the planning stage of taking marked steps to alleviate this problem. I disagree Rahima, those responsible are the remnants of the USC/SNA of Caydiid. Former Lieutenants or soldiers based in Gaalkacyo. They are the ones who call the shots in Baraxley. The wadaads are probably the only light os society nowadays; running private schools, successful business and building mosques and learning centres throughout the country. Only 20 miles north of Gaalkacyo there is an intriguing looking town called Heema . Founded by a well-known Sheikh who returned to his tribal homeland and set up a Xero in the middle of nowhere. Now its an Islamic learning centre where boys are turned into Wadaad men. They live like monks and when they come out after a few years; they marry. The problem is that the people from Gaalkacyo and Mudug in general have developed a colonist mentality. Reer Mudug have amassed so much weapons, that they have implanted themselves to other areas with better economic opportunities and militarily weaker people. The people of Southern Mudug as you said have concentrated their power and wealth in Muqdisho. Same goes for the people of Northern Mudug. They used their military dominance to control Bosasso, which they still do. Thriving businesses like Amal Express, Dalsan, Al Mustaqbal, Somali Telecom Group, Hilaac, Gallad Air, Ramad just to name a bunch are all owned by this particular subclan in Northern Mudug. As for the unification of Gaalkacyo-I can’t see that happening. No doubt Gaalkacyo is a volatile town-arguably the most volatile in the country. I personally think that people should learn from their past, these two tribes were at each others throats even before the war; they never leave each other alone. I believe that the best solution lies in their separation. I disagree. I truly believe the two separate entities in Gaalkacyo can reunite and will reunite sooner or later. If the two despots C/Yussef and Caydiid pulled it off to establish a somewhat successful peace agreement between the two clans, why can't sane people (And I hope by Allah they are out there!) pull it off to make Gaalkacyo one and whole again. Of course questions will be raised, because of Somalia adopting the federal system. Puntland or like Dire Dawa a state in itself.

Haddad the book is fact-based. I recommend you and anyone to read it. I read it a few weeks ago. The head character actually lived and was also called Ali. The writer said so in his interview with Radio Daljir. Laas Burgaabo for instance stands for Laas - Laas Caanood/Qoray, Bur - Burco and Gaabo- Ceerigaabo. I'm reading the book "When a hyena laughs" by Abdi Sheikh Abdi. I bought it online at www.Afgarad.com and the location of the story intrigued me extra: Mudug!

OLOL just keep it cool sxb. Same thing for nomadic activist. Let's keep it real. Lets uphold a level of respect guys.

Its best to delete this whole topic. I sense that this forum is going downhill. Calaa kuli xaal this thread was about the security of Gaalkacyo. In my opinion Gaalkacyo's security is relatively normal. With the emphasis on relatively. In my visit to Gaalkacyo the summer before. You could sense that the city is tense and its people no matter north or south are volatile. The Puntland authorities in Gaalkacyo are corrupt, intimidating and irresponsible. Nevertheless they control all the public assets of Gaalkacyo district inherited from the SSDF: Gaalkacyo International Airport (Ex- Air Force Base) Irrigated farmlands of the Yamayska Dayax military base Darwish military base Gaalkacyo police station Gaalkacyo prison Local government offices of Mudug province and Gaalkacyo district The USC/SNA counterparts in Baraxley, Southern Gaalkacyo aren't much worse than the cowboyish Puntland authorities. But they are responsible of the worst incidents that affect the security situation of Gaalkacyo and Mudug as a whole. They are also responsible for the bad condition of Baraxley. Gaalkacyo had two secondary schools. The prestigious Cumar Samatar secondary school in the north for the boys related to C/Yussef and Cabdullaahi Ciise secondary school in the south for the boys related to Caato. Both schools named after the clan's respective historic heroes. Now the school in Baraxley is still closed, while not only Cumar Samatar has been opened, rehabilitated by UNDP, counts 600 students and the orphans relocated, but the amount of secondary schools in the north is up to 10 or more, such as Xaaji Cali Biixi secondary school with a whopping 1500 students. Not to mention the PSU in Garoowe and the EAU in Bosasso opening new faculties in the north of Gaalkacyo. The USC/SNA in Gaalkacyo is responsible for the crooked development of Gaalkacyo. If this poor leadership continues it will have disastrous consequences for Baraxley. So North and South are both not fantastic, albeit one more severe than the other. But I would say the only solution is to get rid of the poor leaders of both parts of Gaalkacyo through local elections and make sure that Gaalkacyo reunites. Gaalkacyo is one and as long as both parts won't intermingle, work together and share the city together Gaalkacyo will never reach its full potential.
-
OLOL, calm down sxb. You are making a fool out of yourself.

Its impossible for Gaalkacyo to have roadblocks. Only the southern entrance which leads you to Baraxley has a roadblock which is controlled by Cusmaan Caato, whose primary lineage of his subclan borders Puntland unlike Caydiid's reer et al and thusly being the most dominant family in Baraxley, Gaalkacyo. On the other hand there are two checkpoints of the Puntland authorities in the northern entrance of Gaalkacyo and the Eastern entrance of Gaalkacyo when you come from Gaalkacyo International Airport to check the indentity of people coming in and out of town. The refugees from the South might as well return to their homeland if Gaalkacyo is even half as worse as the south, don't you think nomadic activist? PS: Brandnew prison complexes are under construction in Gaalkacyo along with Qardho. And Colonel Gacamey who is from Bosasso and thus not sensitive towards Gaalkacyo's family vendettas is going to give Gaalkacyo its long overdue clean-up.

Who ever deleted my post, man that was childish. I'm really disappointed. That was a classic piece of poetic art.

Originally posted by Suldaaanka: Obviously, the question of the grant to one side only is the core issue. Members of Group 101 say: "If the Italian government is honest broker it should have given similar grant to us as well," but that was not to be. One of the civic leaders in Mogadishu told me over the telephone the other day that it is not about the money; it is about the preferential treatment deliberately played by the Italians. That group 101 consists of former cabdrivers and arronboys is not a surprise after this quote. Aren't the president and the prime minister the leaders of the TFG? Isn't there ONE government and not two. If Italy decides to give the new Somali government support or whatever, it logically goes to Jowhar for that is the place where the Somali government is based. Kulaha you should have given us our share too. Your share is in Jowhar you dumb fools, your government is in Jowhar! Nacalaa idinka iyo daanyeerada aad tihiinba ku yaal.

Very good news, it is totally true, Africa and in our case the Horn of Africa needs independant radio stations that take up the responsibility to enlighten and inform the people. PS: Shock hit me when I saw one of my personal photographs, the blackheaded sheep grazing near Qardho on their lay-out. Walaahi Soomaali yaa edebta baran kara? It seems anti-social behaviour belongs to Somalis' nature. I feel robbed man.

Xoogsade, like Xiin Finiin said these are critical times for Colonel Yeey. The weapon's embargo MUST be lifted for him if he wants to succeed, so he can bring in Foreign peacekeepers under his command and import huge amounts of military hardware to put the much needed pressure on the renegade warlord ministers in Muqdisho. You say that foreign troops is not what will make this government work, but the coöperation between the vested parties. Sxb inkaar kugu dhacdey, the only people that caused the inception of the TFG to be so difficult is one party; Reer Muqdisho. Had it been peaceful and secure, we would not be talking like this right now. Had the Xamar warlord/ministers kept their word since octoer 10th, we would not be talking about this right now. So who are you defending and so and so? Meeshaad ka socdid iyo meeshaad uu socdid maba taqaanid ninyahow. Originally posted by Xoogsade: PS: Waxa dowlad dad u arkaan, dadka kale ilaah ayay ka baryaan ineysan saameyn ku yeelan noloshooda oo dhinac loo dhaafiyo. Ma saas baa? War heedhe waxaad sheegaysid waxba kama jiraan who are you trying to entertain sxb? Dadka waxay dowlad, dowlad rasmi uu arkaan markey waxqabashadiisa ay dadka noloshooda kor uu qaadiso. Xiin Faniin, it doesn't look good for the old man. I doubt that the arms embargo will be lifted, than again knowing Colonel Yeey it probably won't be of any difference. The time for the Muqdisho warlords that are holding their own people and the rest of the nation hostage is OVER!

Originally posted by Rahima: Real estate sure is a viable option of business. I'm working to buy my first plot now Wonderful, good luck Rahima. I have two plots on my name in Somalia myself. A 20-15 in my root hometown Bacaadweyn and a 20-15 in Xaafadda FarJanno in Kismaayo. Unfortunately not bought, but given to me by my relos. It apparently caused only headaches to them, and they got more where that came from anyway. So if you're buying land, make sure you have a plan for it. An uncle of mine bought huge tracks of land, but very cheap in a place called Tuulo Seeraar between Garoowe and Buurtinle. Now, he's desperately trying to sell it for any price but to no avail. If you want to buy land in Muqdisho I would advise you to contact my abti called Madaxey. I think he can offer you a great deal.

Allright my man. I choose a topic that will be interesting and useful to me and others and I don't know a rotten dime about. Malawi. Strangely I don't know absolutely anything about this country. Nothing at all. After 7 days I'll become fit to become Somali ambassador to Malawi. Just watch me sxb. PS. Ngorongoro, I was wondering if you don't find it more appropriate if we all choose a topic that does relate to one another. Perhaps if we all concentrate on topics within Africa. Africa Lives In SOL....

I'm up for the challenge. Bring it on Nogongy! How can you know I'm not choosing a topic I know like the back of my hand?
