A nation does not specifically have to be Islamic to face these problems. But you misunderstand me….my point was Islamic nations are continuously ridiculed and attacked for the simple reason that they choose to hold this faith and practice it and that it is recognized as a national faith. Of course ridicule wont kill you. Don’t you agree that nipping the problem by the bud instead of it growing is so much easier than dealing with something that has escalated? This is propaganda…the only outcome that can be achieved is a dislike for Islam. Because all these nations whether it be Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan have one thing in common Islam and it is so easy to come to the conclusion that has to be the problem. I hold two opinions on this topic. 1. I don’t understand what possible harm the internet can cause…if this restriction is justified by the reason “for the sake of Islam†is it not understood that Islam needs no protection…it is protection on its own. I can appreciate that removing aspects that are considered unlawful in Islam reduces the likelihood of people committed unlawful acts simply for the reason lack of means. However, “To a Saudi male, romance is only allowed if written in English or by a male. It definitely isn't tolerated if it's written by a Saudi female, let alone in Arabic." This does not make sense…a little hypocritical don’t you think? It’s a personal choice whichever way a person chooses to live their life. One thing was always made clear there is freedom of choice…if you want to watch bloody pornography then that’s your choice isn’t it now really. 2. I understand that every nation does have some level of censorship yes even in Europe and the United Sates regardless of their denial and our lack of acknowledgment. Don’t you think it is about time their faults were displayed. It really gets on my nerves, it seems that Islamic nations are continuously ridiculed. Nonetheless, heavy censorship such as in this case is really over stepping the line. By the way “Saudi women unveil opinions online†What do you mean by this statement? How is utilizing the world wide web unveiling Saudi women?

Greetings No.1 Dhubad I think your story about a Somali woman pouring hot water over her hubby sounds far fetched, I live in London and I have never heard about this. If it is true when and where did this incident take place exactly? And as for the part about Somali women killing their husbands…again extreme. However, there are two possible explanations 1. May Allah swt grant him janatul firdos ameen allah u naxriisto i heard about this yesterday..its shocking especially when things like this happen right outside your doorstep...it really brings it home how precious life is and how nothing is granteed regardless of how old or young you are. i would like to know though...is it true that he was with his brother, it was pretty late into the night and the group were messing about on the tracks?

even the somalis(Muslims) who were not covered before 1990 have joined the fashion of Abaayas.. I love the idea that it’s becoming more acceptable amongst Muslim sisters that there is beauty in the abayas. Excuse my pessimistic perspective covering up is great if you’re doing it for the sake of Islam but if women are wearing it because it’s a fashion trend….well that speaks for itself it’s pretty pointless. I can appreciate that some people may believe at least one Islamic requirement is out of the way. However, there are a lot more factors that hold a higher priority. Nonetheless, any movement is good for Islam, I can see that this could only encourage younger generations to following in the right direction.

generally people tend to have very limited memory from the age of 0 to 5 years. However there is nothing stating early memories can not be retrived. My earliest memory was from the age of 3 and was of course when i was in somalia. There are too many good memories to say like going to the beach, eating together with the whole of the family both my grandmas and granddads, the busy market its heat and noise. in hindsight everything is sweeter. i miss everything and it would have been good to grow up surrounded by all that (without the conflict)but you know what they say the grass is always greener on the other side.
