The good PM of SOMALIA is working hard indeed. Hiiraan Where is Juje, the cousin, to brief it on us.

See the reviews. You'll think the book was written for a non-Somali audience about an important subject from our own perspective. More of Yaasmiin is needed. ""I read Nomad Diaries. At once, it forced me to fall on the floor laughing my head off and other times it forced me to reflect our state of affairs, the cause and effects... I recommend Nomad Diaries to anyone who has a passion for reading, a fiction, which is not only a fiction rather a representation of reality, I mean on peoples lives. If this doesn’t make you dancing like nobody is watching, I have no clue what will make you then " Review by Ali Artan, a friend of mine. "The story is brilliantly constructed, describing as it does the unbearable stresses a Somali refugee family faces in its struggle to remake itself in melting-pot America." Said S. Samatar Ph.D. Professor of history, Rutgers University Editor of Horn-of-Africa journal "A must-read first-and-only novel by and for the post-civil war generation of Somalis coming of age in the United States, Nomad Diaries is a treasure chest—a Pandora’s box of drama, trauma, and elation bubbling just beneath the quizzical refugee grin, and Yasmeen Maxamud is a master narrator of the entwined intergenerational fates of Somalis who fled catastrophe for a Pyrrhic dream." Dr Faroole speaks out hardens his position: Audio
NASSIR replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Duke, his speech is pure and perspicuous. Thanks. Meiji, what is with your distaste with PL. The TFG is a federal, not centralized one as you allude to your statement above. Puntland President is only asking for what his regions deserve for security, economic and social development programs. He is in control of 5/18(27% ) regions that, on top of its population, host hundreds of thousands of IDPs and remain peaceful. This whole disagreement reminds me of the JNA regional composition to which Puntland was attacked left and right by officials of "Somaliland" and the South as though there was a conspiracy of bilateral deal between the two. I mean the distruct and enmity for any devolopments aimed towards this peaceful region is so palpable that it will even be denied its proportional right to national resources. And the simple idea of the Deputy Premier that the Government not intervenes to collect or have supervisory role to Puntland resources as a countervailing response to PL's demands has no merit whatsoever. It's silly proposition at best. The TFG should thank Puntland for keeping its large Territory safe and secure for both IDPs and its residents unlike "Somaliland's" ludicrous policy stand that Somalis from the south be treated as "refugees" and not IDPs. Puntland has compromised and is therefore demanding for far less than what it deserved. What has the platform that installed Sheikh Shariif achieved? The man is surrounded by former warlords that do not represent no one to speak of nor control any district or region. Shariif is betting on a game that is fraught with tremendous risks if he continues to agree with self-interested warlords in his circle of advisors. Can the TFG afford to lose the confidence of the progressive state of Puntland is the question? -
Originally posted by Mr. Somalia: ^^ Nassir, It is should be no surprise to you that the secessionist Somalis on SOL love to pop out stupidities. But that is a different topic altogether... The simultaneous attacks in Puntland today, in all their wretchedness, only show the full antipathy and hatred for the peace and stability enjoyed in Puntland, that is harbored in the hearts of the niqaabi terrorists from the deviant sect of Al Shabab. But this will only test our people and government. Furthermore, it is needless to say, that Faroole's leadership abilities have come under a spotlight, and the public will eagerly judge his merits in the coming months. Only time will show us his resolve. [/QB] I totally agree! I really have nothing but respect for Somaliland to live in peace and stability but the secessionists' behavior on the blogs, radios and private websites surprise me.

Mr. Cawke, It feels sad to watch this video and its message. In fact, I am not against their message for peace, brotherhood and justice but I'm rueful of the subliminal message this video relays to the rest of concerned Somalis---that our people in that O region are forever torn apart and inimical to one common vision that decides their inalienable rights to self-determination and own posterity. Saxib, these elders are surrounded by big brother informants, secret agents of the ruthless kind from the dictatorial regime. They can not utter a single word opposite to what you heard in this video(their categorical condemnation of the ONLF) if you can easily grasp the grave consequences of making clear the dicovery of truth in the bossom of their true feelings and hearts. How else do I put it for you to see the bigger picture. If you had seen the Oscar winning movie Life is Beautiful in which actor Guide and his young boy end up in the Concentration Camp and how he conceals the truth from his little son that they were in active participation of a big game, of which the grand prize is the tank. Before the father is pushed to the corner to the last minute of his life with a gun on his head, he happy gestures to his son who peeks from little holes in a container that the father placed him in for the final announcement of the prize. Somalia shall overcome its enemies.

Obviously, Ade's legacy is a fraction of the factors influencing the Puntland's security, but Oodweyne knows little of Puntland's structure and the environment. His statement are not little more than speculations and rumors straight out of the Maanhadal in Hargeisa. You shouldn't fall for its simplicity. Neither Puntland nor Somaliland is immune to the widespread Islamist violence engulfing Somalia and, if you look at it, they have similar patterns with regards to the mysterious assasinations of public figures, However, the best Puntland can do is to exericise caution for calm and look at the bigger picture. As of Oodweyne's speculations which is based on another irrelevant and silly implications of Faroole's past history, like Mintid Farayar's other thread, that a few influential persons, can be sacrificed to sway the international community, is not only laughable but an insane way of putting these coordinated events into a context.
-
It's sad state of affairs we are in because simply those who plot political assasinations usually target their victims in worship places, markets and at dawn time and they hide their identities----a borrowed methods of organized killings. But public officials should always maintain bodyguards since it's difficult for a fragile state like PL to deal with the complex security challenges of Somalia. We must also create family network vigilente groups who can simply report any suspicious looking agent and aid the authorities in the their investigations. It's a bad decision for any official to walk to his neighborhood mosque and market without armed guards.
-
May Allah forgive his sins and take him to Janna. Puntland shall overcome the loss of this national judge. Tragic indeed.

^His Transitional President is Shariif, not an unknown former NSS official. How sad that you still live in a world of delusions. Carry on saxib.

Somalia: Puntland State delegation met with U.S. officials November 11, 2009 Feature Article Nairobi, Kenya - The President of Puntland with a high level ministerial delegation had met with officers of the U.S. Department of State and Somalia's Premier, Omar Abdirashid Ali. The trip of the delegation led by President Faroole and Interior Minister, Gen. Abdullah Ahmed "Ilka-Jir" came after the detention of five alleged ONLF conspirators. The arrest provoked an uproar from the public, which shaked Puntand internal security, social cohesion, and the economic well-being of the state. Protests took in the form of Civil disobedience, that became palpable following the arrest of a prominent peacemaker, Abdisalan Mohamed "Af-gudud" over the alleged detention and transfer of 5 innocent men from the region of ******. One of the victims, was reported to have died in a Bossaso prison cell. In an interview with VOA, President Faroole accused the detainees of destabilizing Puntland as a result of the ONLF-Ethiopian conflict over the Somali region of Ethiopia, a region internationally known as ******. The Puntland delegation first met with US officials such as U.S. Ambassador to Kenya, Micheal Renneberger, who is also responsible for U.S.-Somalia relations, and Donald Payne from the 10th Congressional District of New Jersey. There were reports of a tripertite security agreement between the TFG, Puntland and the U.S. on an unannounced comprehensive policy recently adopted against the scourge of Piracy such as the contraversial deployment of unmanned drones. The drones are widely feared to cause unintended civilian catastrophe as they block the livelihoods of Somali fishermen and coastal communities. In a similar case, The UN sanctioned multinational naval vassals that patrol the long Somali coast had been accused of serious violations of International laws. The Agenda of the US-Puntland meeting also mainly centered on a series of social development projects and security enhancement items such as extending more resources to the Puntland Intelligence Services (PIS) for counter-terrorism measures as to better combat elements of the extremist fringe in the region. The PIS headed by Osman Diyaale operate with a high degree of autonomy in the major cities of Puntland. Its recent security crackdown and alleged killings of several religious scholars have deteriorated public sentiment over its objectives as they are locally dubbed as "Anti-Faith Crusaders." The Puntland delegation is poised to meet with elders and officials from the Somali regional state of Ethiopia. Source: Dhahar

I like this old thread by Xudeedi. For the people of Somaliland, they need to deal with this man and make sure that he does not distract the attention of his bleak political landscape only to blow up the little oasis of peace and stability they worked hard for.

I came across this paragraph while reading Variations on the theme of African Dictatorship "He entered and told me in a long-winded manner what had been said, what the General had said, what he himself had said. He mimicked the General. He mimicked himself. "I told him all he had done was unconstitutional," he said. And the General had looked at him, he told me, look at Soyaan with disdain. "Is it unconstitutional to shoot these sheikhs because they oppose my directives, the laws which I have passed, the decrees which I have signed?" I had challenged the General. "Yes it is unconstitutional to pass laws, sign decrees, run a martial-law government and sentence these sheikhs to death. It is against the teaching of the Koran on which they base their arguments. It is unconstitutional," Sooyaan concluded. "Well in that case, have I ever introduced myself to you, young man? I am the constitution. Now you know who I am, and I want you out of here before I set those dogs of mine on you and you are torn to pieces. Out." I drove Soyaan home that dawn. The refugees from Southern Somalia and the Sool and Sanaag people in Puntland are under consistent harassment as they are blamed for every thing that goes wrong – insecurity, unemployment, espionage and etc. when ever a bomb goes off the police rounds up members from these residents and put them behind bars and made them buy their freedom at a price they can hardly afford. The livestock Minister of Puntland speaking with the press at Boossaaso animal holding and processing centre welcomed the lift of Saudi ban on Somali livestock. Mr. Doonyaale distanced himself from the rogue trading practices employed by some of the livestock merchants in Puntland who are connected to Mr. Faroole “I don’t want to lie, the practice of telling the ******i people that they will be paid $80 per head and then reneging the deal after their animals are brought in Bossaaso is a bad practice. It is robbery and deceit to offer $40 after you make sure that they can neither get pasture for their animals nor able to take their anaimals back to Wardheer and beyond. This practice will chase away the people this port gets its business from and as a consequence we will loose 97% of projected revenue to other ports.” It's amazing authors with no scintella of knowledge of the political and business environment of the region would utter such claims to criticize an administration with no authoritative base of facts let alone make a persuasive point. In the first paragraph, he makes the point that the people of Sool and Sanaag are refugees, ill-treated in their own territory. At least, he should have limited his behind-the-scenes half-truth and mindless assumptions peddled around his tolka-gathering places to the Somalis of the south. At least, it would have made sense to others in his speculation of reer Sanaag, of which Boosaso, is indeed their traditional homeland. And in the second par. he manufactures a false quote and wreaths of lies against the Minister of Livestock, Mr. Doonyale, that of systematic deception and fraud done to nomads from ******. I am really disappointed with the author's false lamentation and his bent on spreading malicious rumors that can foment hostility.

Strip Club Visits Contradict Contrived Stereotype Of Fort Hood Shooter
NASSIR replied to Siciid1986's topic in General
But the guy complained of increased isolation as a result of negative Muslim stereotypes and discrimination. He desperately wanted out and had asked for it several times. His application was turned down because of the service contract he signed. He was also afflicted, according to NY times, with the quandary of fighting against Muslims, a scenerio the Qur'an advises against for severe punishment. How long will the Afghan and Iraq wars take is still an ongoing debate but as long as the Obama administration treats such incidents as a rare and isolated cases( dispel Muslim generalization), the better America's "New Beginning" will have a positive impact across nations. -

^In that case, I let you dream on in attaining that goal of secession, but the day you realize that secession is a bargaining chip for the tolka is the day the healing process starts. here is a little school of thought for your next debate
