He is from SD. I had the chance of seeing one time his Friday sermons. He is a good speaker, that I can tell.

External intervention in its many dimensions is a reality against a weak and divided nation. Ethiopia is one among many, others like members of the Arab League, Italy, Eritrea, Egypt, Kenya, D-Jibouti, the West come to mind. It's naïve to think that only Ethiopia indirectly runs under her influence all of these entities depicted here.

Trying my attempt. A wounded pride I'm wrapped in blanket thinking of the sweet sour mate It was a moment on whose arrival I never foresaw or imagined It invaded in the flesh piercingly like the struck of a dagger wielded by a frothing mouth of an avenger Traveled were they to a fanciful wood of angeles A space that occupies many minds in awe but in reality is artificial and infecund It was all simple fun I was told Splendor one spent and shared with the family As to nourish and nurse my heart of a fretful fate was its initial plan I accepted that innocent voice of mirage Like a well-crafted mask, I was kept in the cage of love Ready to submit all I ever had: my trust and transient currency. Deemed more appropriate the latter was for the ocassion Relagated my intangibles into the pin were the rest to be either recycled or discarded for good. Suspenseful my longing hang in the air A miracle descended on me delivered on a disguised co-incidence; a past encounter; It was an anxious call I made to fullfill a promise, to a sidekick and friend with whom his help was immediately saught Asking for a favor to transact a business on my behalf Which was to benefit the sweet sour and the wolf in a sheep's clothing And his unforgettable advise ringed after the discovery of truth, "Woe is unto a brother who fell for that innate bend For she values neither blood ties nor what lies ahead but what outward embellishment catches her eyes."

Sayid, WardheerNews has it posted the reviews, excerpts and other related info like if you are interested to order a copy. Cawke, it's more than that and I'm sure you will learn much more than you knew before and he puts it, "I thought that my generation owed it to posterity to write what they know honestly, without distortion of the facts and without favor to or malice towards anyone. "I believe young Somalis who have lost touch with the past of their history---and have a distorted view of it---should know what went wrong, what led their state to fail, and what destroyed their country. Connectivity between generations is very important, for without it, continuity would be lost"

I'm really impressed by the depth and intensity the new book "Governance, by Ismail A. Ismail", reconstructs the missing strands of Somalia's history and its varrying political edifices. A dissection of important historic events is shown in a manner that can hardly be explained by those with limited grasp and view of our history, culture and politics. It also traces Somalia's present societal ills (at most) to the colonial designs of Italy and its fascist policies, which had even lingered in full effect after its defeat in WWII. The author also argues that good governance (as the author is an expert in the field), requires a combination of indigenous and modern solution based on finding a compatibality between traditional and and modern structures of governance. Simply Brilliant and much overdue! I couldn't put it down.

In the 80s, she appears to be young in the videos I have seen and the most beautiful female singer Somalia has ever had. This particular song and "Kaala Tashano" only highlight the present reality in Somalia just as Amin Amir does it on a daily basis without any personal biases other than the love of her country, but a few with an ax to grind would tend to find grounds to impugn her impressive musical career. Btw, the man who composed most of her contraversial lyrics in the 80s was from the famous reer-Kenadiid family. Yasiinka Yasiinka was part of his songs.

^ "She is a woman" that is how I heard it. Funny. Godfrey, the Nigerian American, at his best moments about new African Immigrants and their stereotypes held by western societies. -
Lol@Che. "Saado is not a stranger to controversy and her latest song has generated a lot of debate in Somali circles. Many Somalis have welcomed its nationalistic lyrics, while a few have accused her of encouraging the people of Sool to revolt against the secessionist regime of Rayale, a former Colonel in the security apparatus of the collapsed Somali Regime. Some accuse Rayale of wanting to bolster his re-election chances with the costly and risky occupation of the city." read it further

Without a trace of the least bias on my side, this song is truly one of the best ever made and with Saado's voice, it tops the chart of patriot songs. I just can't get enough of it.

When self-styled public figures issue existential threats to the people of SSC, how will the average person of this one nation be impacted in the long run?

At times I get angry reading at such comments that border beyond the parameters of what our religion teaches us . Our religion does not restrict the fundamentals of our liberty and freedom but it guides us into a healthy lifestyle free from the impulses and irresponsibility that result in when we leave ourselves to the passion of the beasts. As far as I believe Feminism and Materialism are the source of all contemporary societal ills as the former misguides women into believing that they can labor as much hours on their path to financially independent goal while the latter manipulates their "false consciousness" created by the onslaught of media and social pressure. I had a chance to talk to an American colleague who told me that her happiest moments in life were when she lived in Japan for 6 years in her late teens and early 20s. She said there was no pressure from her circle of friends or community to champion as the early adopters of the sluttiest fashion designs( btw how one dresses or behaves does tell much about themselves); everyone treated each other the same with no consequence of "deviating from the norm" set by the mainstream. I also think this word "boredom" has been abused to justify one's tendency to a promiscuous lifestyle which by the way is a direct result of a lack of Iimaan and confidence in one's self or relative position. It's all about the effects of one's environment though I have also met peoples of other faith, some of European descent, who are extremely devotional and understand the artificial life that the powerful media projects to the public. And it is really sad so many young girls have fallen for this trap and thus ruined their lives out of pure conformism and the pursuit of unattainable dreams without regard to the long term bad effects this type of behavior has.

Extremely sweet song and it carries a patriotic message deep enough to spur you into real action. Thanks Aalia for sharing it with us.

The UN Monitoring Group reports are extremely biased and based on questionable findings. I don't know if some members of its committee has special relationship with "Somaliland" but their reports correlate very close with the secessionists' news information, editorials and opinions. It does in fact glean most of its sources from Hargeisa. In its last report (I believe) it alleged that the people of Sanaag and western Bari regions supply arms and weapons into the ONLF in order to facilitate support for their expansionist policies of SL against our regions. The UN Monitoring Group is very corrupt that it has turned into tool for others to advance their own narrow interests.

Somalia: Puntland gov't, Elders sign agreement: PICS
NASSIR replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Now GaroweOnline as usual discredits its image as a source of reliable news by borrowing from the "occupied regions" mantra, and then quote a default Gerad who is actually the spokesperson of PL affairs and interests. It is a counter-productive race with SL, which is in fact a weak entity if we underestimate the advances it made into the region of Sool with the help of personnel and troops it hired from the same region. Individuals or sites should be cautious not to anger the folks of Sanaag, for they don't consider their territory as "occupied". This is far from the truth and it does add an insult into the mix. It reminds me of ALLPUNTLAND editors' attempt to re-demarcate the town of Galgala as part of Sanaag region when in fact it is located on western Bari region and so comes under the Bosaaso Administrative District. -
What is your input on this one? Was anyone able to access the link above? I posted it from my mobile.

^I surmise you have not understood the thesis of "The Greatest Impediment to Puntland's Progress" to which my above comment refers to. It's not only the composition and structure of that agency, but how it is used as a tool to settle some scores or displace entire communities from their lands. I'm not the first one who highlighted its clannish make-up as legitimate other sources did, and I do care less of a reform limited to one agency.
-
Thankful, I need to see a structural reform not only in the leadership ranks of one agency but the whole PL state. It is to highlight and re-emphasize the need for a balanced administration that is based on constitutional justice and that can win the confidence of the people it is supposed to serve. If the head of PIS were from a Galka'ayo residence or Alula, it will still raise the same outstanding issue as one clan's dominance of PL state organs is what violated the social contract that first established it and the loss of Sool region and its capital. To avoid further disintegration within PL, we must attend to its root causes, rectify some of the unresolved issues and balance the system. Or let the so called elites from Maakhir put an end to their fruitless compromises and refrain from hoodwinking to their constituents and thus embark on a program of seperate admin under the current federalist platform, as I always advocated.
