I like this one. Faroole's beloved son. Amin Aamir should be made hero of Puntland. At least he wants the best of Somalia, the ethical need of the public and their leaders. They should then be able to know what is advantageous and just for them with regards to how they are governed. Good character is the missing link saxib.

You forgot Farole--the fox in charge of the henhouse. And his threats to Amin Amir

So funny walahi.

I like when he mentions a time he strolled onshore, near El-Jale college he was teaching. It was a full moon and it gave waves of clear reflections of stars and the clouds on our sea water. "You don't need to incommode your neck by looking up the sky," joked Prof. Gaariye. We have such a blessed country and pristine and clean ocean and Mr. Gariye as a nationally well-acclaimed poet uses Somalia's nature to give a tempting description of a tall, beautiful woman he spotted in Mogadisho.

Fyi, Zack. The daily newspaper Sydney Morning Herald reported on April 21, 2006 a bloody conflict between the clan militias of Sheikh Mohamed Said Atam and the former governor of Puntland, Mohamed Muse Hiris (Adde) over the mineral exploration rights that Puntland had granted to Range Resources. The article also informed the investors of the desperate hunt for oil and minerals in conflict zone areas of Africa. The actors of both conflicts are of the same men but the arena in which it has been played has changed as well as the outcome. The Morning Herald stated, “”In a sign of just how desperate oil companies are becoming to replace reserves, a mystery "oil major" has signed a letter of intent with Range Resources. Range has the rights to 50.1 per cent of the oil and minerals in the semi-autonomous state of Puntland in Somalia - a place that oil majors like Houston's Conoco abandoned in the face of civil war 15 years ago.The civil war is over in that part of Somalia. But the ********** clan is upset at the Puntland Government's handling of the Range deal and Somali sources report 10 people have died in clashes with the president's militia in thee lasst month.

Zack, reverse this question and ask yourself whether the Chinese exploration team should have heeded the ONLF warning since at least there's an admin in that region. This is a resource conflict saxib with two or three variables making part of the equation. Use the principle of isolation and solve the R problem.

Should Somaliland allow the formation of a unionist party?
NASSIR replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Originally posted by NGONGE: As soon as the country is recognised, I will be one of the first that supports a unionist party and objects to the arrest of returning TFG MPs. You are putting a time restriction on Goth's grievance. He wants the restrictions imposed on the federal legislators from Borame and Bur'o to be lifted now, not later, not until the looming recognition comes into view. -
Should Somaliland allow the formation of a unionist party?
NASSIR replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
to punish and criminalize people for calling or publicly advocating for the Somali union is an insult to the intelligence of the people of Somaliland. If anything, it shows insecurity and paranoia about the sustainability of the Somaliland project. I like this statement. It's quite clear that Goth is upset of the secessionist "Somaliland's" arbitrary arrest of the federal legislators from Borame -
Should Somaliland allow the formation of a unionist party?
NASSIR replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
I don’t see why it should still be a taboo to create a unionist party, demanding Somaliland’s reunification with Somalia. Goth's conversion from a die-hard secessionist into an advocator for Somali unity. Wlc back home. -
"The risk is being taken increasingly seriously that they will look outside Somalia for their operations now," said one Nairobi-based diplomat. An old article but the Nairobi-based diplomat's prediction was right on target, proved by the recent bombings of Uganda.

Burn Notice, aren't you an Australian of European descent and a shareholder of these fly-by night small companies in Puntland, coveting the blessed lands of Makhir people? If you may recall, you and I had exchanged some private messages before on topics like PL's shady deals with RR and Africa Oil and when President Sharif and the Somali Parliament voted for and passed the implementation of Shariah law, which I objected to as the time wasn't ripe for it. Burn Notice Alien Member: 10008 posted April 22, 2009 07:19 AM Nassir, thank you for the time and effort taken to post the below right on the money IMO cheers "The implementation of Sharia law is the way forward, but its application needs circumspection and careful deliberation and established national judges with great credentials of religious background and probity, who can understand time's prerequisites. Good Times and circumstances of the past have dramatically shifted towards a chaotic world and a world of dishonesty and perfidy, greed and poverty. It's hard to implement the application of the cutting of hands for a mere shoplifting given the circumstances we are in. Human beings are fallible, judgemental, biased, subjective and divided over the complete and fair interpretation of the laws of Allah according to the right circumstances. Case in point is the stonning of the 16 yearl girl--that we all wept and grieved for her great deal of suffering--under the shaddow of the power struggle between the opposing forces of the TFG. Look at how the scarcity of trustworthiness rooted in our culture today manifest itself from the past. When an English traveler under the contractual service of the Common Wealth Ministry visited Sanaag in 1843, he was marveled at the hospitality and extreme honesty of the inhabitants. He reported that "to call a man thief is a deadly insult to be washed by blood alone."That you could leave your personal property in an open marketplace with high concentration of particapants without having to worry about their loss was the norm.Compare that era to the present one, you are hardly equipped with such thoughts of complete integrity with todays' people.

A long but well-argued article. Thanks for posting it saxib.

Thankful, you sound ever more funny, disoriented and contradictory. Websites seem to be your mythical hobgoblin. Garowe Online was your target for many months, accusing it of propogating false news and unfairly promoting Farole's political ambitions. It turned out to be a collusion course between you and the rest of die-hard "Puntlanders" that you were singled out and even your "PL" identity questioned. Other notable contributors dismissed your relentless attacks of GaroweOnline, Farole, as a child obsessed with its little toy. Now it seems the Galgala saga is an opportunity to save face though you are still, and unnoticeably, wallowing in mud. Adeer, as for your repeated citation of Ilka-jir's stance, my take is that he is not a representive of the a whole community's opinion and position. Hunguri agrees with me on this since the reputed general holds an office that should push for the unfair policies of Farole with regards to Galgala and environs. He would have to tender his resignation had he taken a contrary position. Quite clear saxib! Fyi, Dhahar is the sister online publication of Somali Public Radio. Its staff have a first hand knowledge of what is going on in the native-land of Makhiris. For instance, SPR was the first to report yesterday the armed clash near Galgala before the likes of Duke dismissed it as a false news while haphazardly rushing to open a new thread with a self-defeating title (www). That only reinforced the stigma of his zealotry on this mere Somali forum while rendering a laughing stock of his intentions of defamation. When our brother Xudeedi verified from the most biased clan-sites like AllPuntland (a site known for its geographic ignorance of the region) and then asked his friend if he would ever believe it this time, Duke again, ever deperate in his self-defeating tactics called for Sakhar to post the same news and cited him as though he and Sakhar were of the same drilling unit. It's like PLers are acting in collectivity terms.

Thankful, see the Dhahar Elders' communique. Btw, at least the people of Galgala with all Puntland's might deployed against them have held up their position bravely and without seeking protection and aslylum like Ade and his clan militias did. This is not even a war with whom the people of Haylan are completely united and it proves how weak but loud-mouthed Ade's supporters have been over the years.

The real Federation of Somali States, established by Puntland
NASSIR replied to Land_Soldier's topic in Politics
Cyber warriors, don't cheer for a Tigray or a defeated Habash, whatever ethnic group Passerby belongs to. Lander is your fellow Somali citizen and he wishes the best for all Somalis. -
"Somaliland" is a mature and growing democracy with unique history unlike the weak, clan-inspired entity. Makhirians actually helped PL with their expertise of administration since they had had a huge political participation with "Somailand"s formation and development prior to Puntland formation (a carbon copy of SL), that is why the founder of Puntland aka Yusuf, relied heavily on the Makhirian support. But the likes of Farole and Ade with once Australian and Canadian refugee status, respectively, have pushed the state into the Dungeon.

The Guardian: Somalia has a role model for success on its doorstep
NASSIR replied to Land_Soldier's topic in Politics
and the African Union puppet "transitional federal government", offers little hope of peaceful resolution Prof. Lewis, the man who wrote Somalia's history, might be right on this assertion of TFG as a "puppet" admin. -
TFG will still be supported saxib because of the alternative but ugly scenerio. A new reconciliation conference is needed. Sharif came to power for the simple reason he led once the al-Shabab and that he would be able to absorb them into the TFG's political framework. It hasn't worked and the man is utterly incompetent, semi-literate president.

^do you think they would have escaped with all these crimes if the people of Haylan and western Bari were united against their historic enemies.. Duke, as a matter of fact, the PIS operative who assassinated Abshir Qodah Du'ale was surrendered to the families of the murdered because, this time, there were multiple witnesses at the scene in addition to securing the confession of the killer. You haven't been following the news. The extradition of the killer to the wronged family, I believe, was a good political strategy on the side of Puntland to seek more clan support in its current war with Atam, which seems to be withering away as of now in light of the communique released by the Dhahar Elders. Saxib, it's matter of time that a unanimoius decision is taken by the people of Haylan against the raw aggression and sheer arrogance of the clan led Puntland entity.
-
Such justice, eh? Don't wonder because it's found only in Clan-puntlandism mentality Right on target, Paragon. Now the Haylan chiefs have released their final communique asking for the withdrawal of PL militia from western Bari regions. I think it will be a long war between the people of Haylan in alliance with people of Carmaale and Damallahagare vs PL's allied clan militia and its traitors. Trust me, once reer Haylan unite on this front, expect the reer Carmale/Erigabo joining their brethrens for the liberation of western Bari regions. My biggest concern is the lack of real political consensus within the people of Haylan in coming to the rescue of their brethrens in western Bari Regions. Saxib, over 300 trucks, during the SNM movement, mounted with tripod machine guns and recoilled rifles attacked Xadeed, and they were squarely defeated by the people of Carmaale. I think it's time reer Haylaan unite on the defense of their native-land from a clan-inspired, aggressive entity. It's indeed very shameful that it has gone to such levels of sheer arrogance on the side of PL to attack another land (blessed with water falls as it may) and uproot the farming communities and once again reinstate the prospecting contract of oil and minerals PL signed with foreign companies. (Very sad indeed) The "Puntlanders" unite behind their tribal chieftains in both just and unjust wars. They are surprisingly unanimous in every political move their leaders take whether wrong or right, evil or good-intentioned. And for such endeavors of value-maximizing schemes, they have my utmost respect. Paragon, what do you think of Ilka-jir. Will this crisis he helped create haunt him?
