Taleexi, I hope the premier from Abudwaq District does not capitalize on the miscalculations of those who killed the goose that lay the golden eggs? Promote Somalia's Unity and Political Independence, I strongly urge.

Stoic, I thought you were a "Somalilander" judging from your interest in the effort to partition of Somalia.

S@Mali & MMA, Haylan region was created by the last Somali government in 1991 on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry after positive feasibility study, just prior to the civil war. (Hingalol is older than many districts in Somalia & it has grown in size) Anyway, we welcome President Sharif and his new Prime Minister.

AU's influence in terms of its independent policy formulation and execution is growing much faster. In the long run, it's good for the Continent. ------------- "The African Union (abbreviated AU in English, and UA in its other official languages) is an intergovernmental organization consisting of 53 African states. The only African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established on 9 July 2002,[4] the AU was formed as a successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). The most important decisions of the AU are made by the Assembly of the African Union, a semi-annual meeting of the heads of state and government of its member states. The AU's secretariat, the African Union Commission, is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Among the objectives of the AU's leading institutions are: to accelerate the political and socio-economic integration of the continent; to promote and defend African common positions on issues of interest to the continent and its peoples; to achieve peace and security in Africa; and to promote democratic institutions, good governance and human rights. The African Union is made up of both political and administrative bodies. The highest decision-making organ of the African Union is the Assembly, made up of all the heads of state or government of member states of the AU. The Assembly is currently chaired by Bingu wa Mutharika, leader of Malawi, elected at the tenth ordinary meeting of the Assembly in January 2009. The AU also has a representative body, the Pan African Parliament, which consists of 265 members elected by the national parliaments of the AU member states. The current president of the Pan African Parliament is Idriss Ndele Moussa. Source: Wiki.

Somalia: Leaders of SHwB welcome the appointment of the new Prime Minister October 15, 2010 ] H.E. Mohamed A. Mohamed The current political situation paints a grim picture. Being ranked No. 1 from the bottom of Transparency International corruption index, Somalia is further hampered by subterranean currents of national disintegration. Commercial high-seas Piracy, Islamic Terrorism, the absence of a common national currency and the resultant hyperinflation of a various number of money-printing enterprises, chronic poverty and the resultant deforestation and the recruitment of children as soldiers, clash of political personalities within the TFG and the TFP and last but not least the unreasonable demands of the clannish, secessionist-inspired political entities up north, all point to the need of a unified Somali leadership. Somalia's leaders from the regions of SANAAG, HAYLAN and W. BARI, congratulate the new head of Government and urge all parties, entities, constituencies and religious leaders to set aside their petty differences and work with the Head of State, H.E. Sheikh Shariif Sheikh Ahmed, and the Head of Government, H.E. Mohamed A. Mohamed. "By all account, we all share the responsibility of the deteriorating political situation," said prominent legislator, Asha Ahmed Abdalla in her latest interview with BBC/Somali on the appointment of the new Prime Minister. However, given the security concern of the international community and their charitable humanitarian assistance, the new premier must approach the war-wearied Somali people with a strong national vision that transcends regionalism and tribalism. He must also come up with a realistic government programs or policies in addition to a tangible commitment to strengthen Somali Unity and to ameliorate and co-opt the warring parties in order to consolidate the transitional Government while reaching out to the root causes of our internal issues. I think he wasn't Somalia's ambassador to Washington but worked as a diplomat in the Somali Embassy in Washington, and that's the captsone of his career achievement. I hope he learns from the past and I hope he will be committed to applying his knowledge of and expertise in international security & conflict resolution on our motherland. ______________________________ DHAGAYSI---- Taariikh nololeedka Raysal Wasaaraha Cusub ee Soomaaliyeed Maxamed C/laahi Maxamed “Farmaajo”… Kadib markii maalinimadii shalay uu madaxweynaha dowlada federaalka uu magacaabay Raysal Wasaare cusub isla markaana u magacaabay Mudane Maxamed Cabdullaahi Maxamed oo ku magac dheer “Farmaajo” ayaa dad badani isweydiinayaan taariikh nololeedka raysal wasaaraha cusub ee Soomaaliyeed. First and foremost, Col. Abdulqadir Dheel was not even a member of the SRC but an alleged accomplice of the said attempted coup to bring down the new SRC government. And I beg to differ, it's far more complex than how you painted the death sentence of these 3 officers. Here is what Ismail writes in his book Governance, "the defenestration of Qorshel cleared the way for further defenestration of SRC members. Colonel Ahmed Mahamoud Adde was incarcerated, Major Bashir Yusuf Elmi was imprisoned and morally destroyed, and Brigadier General Ainanshe and Lieutenant Colonel Salad Gabayre (son in law of former president Aden Abdule Osman) were accused of plotting a coup, tried by the National Security Court----under Law No. 54 of September 10, 1970." Actually, it was Lieutenant Colonel Salad Gabayre who "sponsored and introduced" the death penalty legislation before the Supreme Revolutionary Council right after the arrest of Major General Qoorsheel (the 2nd chief architect of the coup) who at the time had held multiple important portfolios: the VP and the Interior Ministry. It was to deter junior officers. It's important to look at the conditions that actually led to the SRC coup. People were indeed tired of the civilian government and they had longed for a radical change and away from the corrosive behavior and the widespread corruption at all levels of the government, violence as a result of fraudelent elections, discriminatory political appointments, and crude nepotism, all of which created an uncertain future and political upheaval for the civilian administration. Besides, Premier Egal annointed Muse Boqor to be Sharmarke's replacement and had wanted the parliament to convene and vote for him. He had also wanted Major General Bare to be superannuated or to banish him to the Soviet Union "under the guise of training." Prior to the coup, Korshel was severely humiliated by the Prime Minister ad interim, Mr. Yasin (cousin of the assassinated president) for failing to protect President Abdirashid since he accompanied him to Las Anod. How could Korshel shield him from the bullets of his bodyguard? Yet Mr. Yasin went below the belt and insulted Major General Korshel at the airport upon return from Las Anod and he also threatened him with these words, "Now you will see what we will do". There and then, Egal also wanted to reinstate Major Gen. Abshir as the chief commander of the armed forces (the police & the military) in order to keep everything under control since he and Barre were not getting along well. It was at this particular circumstance that the two Major Generals (Qorshel and Barre) together saw a common threat and "were resolved to craft a common destiny. For the first time ever, the two, who had never been close before, were seen driving together and keeping company constantly for three days. Apparently, Barre had disclosed the military's planned coup to Qorshel," according to Ismail.

^It's important to note the empires Khaled bin Walid (RA) defeated were at the time crumbling, as they colluded against each other and they ruled not that expansive land. He extended the reach and spread the message of Islam, that's the key point. He was a great commander. How about Saladin? I pick Alexender the Great. The British Empire was the greatest in history and it got dissolved, but its cultural influence still impact many parts of the world. I didn't know one of the Ahmed Gurey's intrepid commanders, Jasa Umar, governed the land of Walaqa near Abbay (Blue Nile) on the border of Sudan after the Conquest. (Read Fatahu al Habash)

Che indeed, how he changed the course of history... 16th century Imam Ahmed Gurey's rule reigned supreme for 15 years (The Conquest of the Horn of Africa, Lewis.) after he defeated the Abyssinian Empire and braught Highland Ethiopia, Greater Somalia up to Tana River, Eritrea, and Djibouti under the Adel Empire. ^He was a great military commander.

With all due respect, do not implicate Ethiopia and the United States in this internal conflict. Australian oil companies' illicit deal with Ade Muse might have triggered old clan rivalry, but these countries you so excited to implicate in your land dispute with the inhabitants of the region is a desperate call for a one-sided assistance. The good news is that the world is slowly coming to realize the root cause of the Galgala conflict. Your uncle Ade Muse lost the presidency for this main reason and his clannish nature. The likes of Faroole were catapulted into the office by their promise to resolve the issue and improve the self-declared autonomous region's political relations with the people of Sanaag and Haylaan. Yet, they followed the same old policy of disintegration and divide and rule.
-
The break-away states' self-serving, clannish leaders might not back him up, but it won't harm the policies of the Government. At least I can assure you the premier has or will have the full support of the unionist regions of Northern Somalia like SOOL, SANAAG, HAYLAN, and AYN, and Western BARI. Congratz to the new premier.

Sayid-admirer, was Axmed Saalax, the man whom Sayid thought to be his true spiritual leader and guardian, an Arab. Remember Sayid was demoralized and he killed many of his followers after that forged letter from his Arab spiritual guardian. C'mon, don't worry about the summit's resolution on the unity and restoration of Somalia. It's good for the TFG.

Mogadishu: Sharif picks his PM Mohamed Abdullahi[Farmaaje]
NASSIR replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Congratz to Premier Farmaajo. Laakiin waa inaan la shaqeynaa oo aan taageerna odayga. NinaNC, well said @ the prochial, self-serving leaders of break-away states "Puntland" etc though the people are true patriots and won't in fact consent with the deportation of their brothers just because they are from the South. The unionists like Sanaag, Sool and environs will always support Mogadishu as long as it protects the national interest. We needed a premier whose vision transcends the politics of regionalism and clannism and I hope this man like President Shariif selects a good cabinet based on merit and the so called formula 4 the time being. -
Lool@ the car repo over an unpaid Khat. I remember another embarrassing incident. One "SL" minister was held in a hotel room in Addis Ababa for days because he couldn't pay the rent. The Diaspora finally bailed him out. He took a bus to Hargeisa.

Silanyo Proposes Power-sharing Between SNM and USC
NASSIR replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Originally posted by Taleexi: Yet another evidence why Mr. Silaanyo can not see trees from the forest. He is an old dude, blinded by clannism, favoritism and what have you. His initiation of disintegrating what has been left the northern regions attests to it. At least, we should pay credit where it is due, Mr. Silaanyo never hides his true colors and what he stands for. Well done ya President Silaanyo. He is exactly thinking now as he thought then. 20 years of him is just wasted. Anyone who sees the world through the same lenses at age of 20 and 40, needs to see me because I'VE GOTTEN some drugs Well put... -
Why correlate the seperate issues of "SSC" & Galgala/Majihan in the Bosaso environs? The latter is a war waged on the basis of power struggle and control over resources and the mineral exploitation of the land of western Bari region, inhabited mainly by a sub-clan of the people of Dhahar. Thus, reer Dhahar were not even united on the Galgala front though it's too speculative a drivel to think the self-declared entity has won the war. It all proved the weakness of "PL" despite mobilizing and uniting the "SSDF" clan along with a few misguided and self-interested politicians from Erigavo region. Remember it was Attam who defeated PL and stopped Ade Muse from giving exploration rights to the erstwhile Range Resources' grand schemes. Saxib, Maakhiris are upset about the whole resource conflict created by the pirate leaders, the bloodshed, the displacement and uprooting of their people in Western Bari. They are also incensed by the clannish nature of Faroole and his henchmen. "PL" is an admin on paper only. It has ceased to exist.
