  1. We should all support Premier Farmaajo and protest against the illegality of that accord.
  2. Lol@Leezu. JB thinks he can get away with his tampering of my line there.
  3. At the end of the meeting the participants made the following appeal. 1. Participants congratulate for the awakening Somalis who unanimously protested against Kampala accord. We commend your sacrifice and encourage you to continue this unprecedented revival of nationalism spirit. 2. Participants expressed unreserved support for the PM Farmajo and encouraged him/his cabinet to continue to serve for the nation and complete the remaining transitional task. 3. We call the international community to support Somalis and avoid unjustified meddling. 4. UN is supposed to facilitate for Somalis to resolve their problems and remain neutral, non interfering force. Unfortunately Ambassador Augustine Mahiga tragically breached neutrality and like his predecessor acted out of UN principles and Somali national interest for this reason, we call the immediate resignation of Ambassador Mahiga. 5. TFG parliament should side with the aspiration of Somali people who unanimously support to extend term for the current Prime minister and his cabinet. 6. The parliament must initiate impeachment actions against the two Sharif. Thank you This statement is endorsed by over 50 persons that participated in the meeting on 14th June 2011 in Galkayo Link
  4. Minneapolis (SPR): Orlyn Kringstad, head of the Oslo Center’s branch in U.S held a going away dinner for Mohamed Jibrel, who will soon relocate to his country of origin, Somalia. The Oslo Center is an independent foundation, which works to advance human rights, democracy and intercultural dialogue, and it was founded in 2006 by former Prime Minster of Norway Kjell Magne Bondevik. The dinner was hosted by Orlyn Krigstad and his wife Marit Kringstad, a unique event connecting community leaders. Mohamed Jibrel lived in U.S for over 40 years and has held many prestige professional posts. He initially started out in academia where he became a dean assistant at Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut. Jibrel also has notable experience in government and lobbying, and was the first African to be a delegate in the 2004 democratic convention. Mr.Jibril lives in MN and is the current director of Hennepin County’s Office of Cultural Diversity."Link
  5. If USAID is serious about its aid and development programs, it should help build critical infrastructure where the need for such investment is high through collaboration with local, well-established organizations that have maintained a good track record of valuable services. In Sool and Sanaag regions , this investment is very critical to the livelihoods of the communities concerned. Let's help build schools, small ports and feeder roads. My vison is that an educated Society that's engaged in regional and over-seas trade promotes local peace and progress. It's time to pay attention to the neglected regions of Somalia. JB, Thanks for the post.
  6. Taleexi, Well said saxib. I support SSC's popular movement, for its gain can reverse our regions predicament. The evolution of SSC into a strong force to reckon with gladdens me. And if it does survive against this fierce battle of invasion, manipulation and treachery, the Maakhir regions shall follow suit and even share the fruits of a viable stability and progress. No longer will Sool & Sanaag regions be labeled as disputed territories in the future . 7. The Obama administration is leading a global effort to deploy "shadow" Internet and mobile phone systems that dissidents can use to undermine repressive governments that seek to silence them by censoring or shutting down telecommunications networks. The effort includes secretive projects to Source: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2011/06/12/world/12internet.xml
  8. He is from Dhahar but I have been following closely developments in the region. The political landscape has definately shifted in favor of an alternative solution. Mr. Jamal's support for PL's scorched-earth policies of Haylaan and western Bari regions in order to settle some accounts with his arch-enemy has cost him the comfort of ever visiting his native land peacefully. This is not the first time that Mr. Jamal and his private militia got rebelled off by the residents of the city. But it clearly marks how Garowe admin is so unpopular in the region despite the fact that Faroole and his friends have used every trick in the playbook to galvanize inter-clan conflict in the name of fighting terrorism. That card has definitely failed as far as domestic issues is concerned.
  9. I think It's a matter of time when Abdi Jamal, IlkaJir and the rest of the hired agents of Puntland face similar clashes upon their every attempt to visit Maakhir Territory as to showcase or pay the dues of their loyalty. Very sad we have self-serving individuals posing as the legitimate leaders of this vast region.
  10. Taleexi , thanks for sharing it. Great Opinion Piece as usual by uncle Isma'il.
  11. Bashir is right. Badhan's tiny revolution is felt across every region in Somalia . Che, go to "Badhan, Sanaag" @ Wikipedia and educate yourself about this city in case you might be thinking of paying a visit someday.
  12. It's nearly impossible to mediate two groups with diametrically opposed vision. Even if one opponent emerges victorious and wipes the other out with all its unintended consequences, the Somali civil strife will still drag on for many years to come. I think we should let people decide their own destiny away from imposed, third party solution.

  14. Jacphar, this unprecedented loss of lives is total madness. However, TFG does the same in its singular objective to defeat the radicals. Kenya is concerned of its border security, hence its rigid shift of policy towards Somalia. Like TFG, Azania seems to have secured the backing of regional and international support just to contain al-Shabaab or defeat them eventually.
  15. Malika, I haven't been that active on these forums for the last 6 months lol.
  16. Zack, tell me the Power Structure of this new admin. Is it inclusive? Does it reflect the diversity of the clans in this naturally endowed region. Are traditional Puntlanders including the people of BulaHaji, and other communities like the people of Hoos-hungow, Jamaame , and others support the ideal future it intends to achieve? I sense (correct me) this Kenyan-backed governance model is dominated by reer-Gedo and Afmadow. Break it down for me saxib.
  17. Galk'ayo and Erigavo, two great cities! The latter carries with it the perception of peace and of mutual interest. The former, though bears the malediction of recurrent violence and mysterious high-profile assassination on its shoulder, largely thrives under Puntland Government and its people. Saalax, do you have any proof for your #s? The opposite of what you said is actually the demographic reality of Erigabo.
  18. Thanks for the pics - rallies of justice and freedom. SSC follows the same path as ONLF. More scholarly literature, organization , unity of purpose and lobbying are needed to overcome the known obstacles of a liberation struggle. As for British aid to "Somaliland", they know how foreign aid is used other than the purpose for which they are designed. Unaudited aid money has often fueled our internal division. However, civil society aka legitimate NGOs is the real power, and it's through them that aid and development is channeled.
