  1. Somalina, The paintings of our flag on the roofs of many villas, even on the walls of gas stations, indicate how Somali nationalism is alive and on its way to becoming once again renascent. I have to say Cadaado district is progressing, but I hope the so called Somali observers and international media won't again formulate their hypothesis of discounting the hard labour of the residents and accuse them of benefiting from the pirate loot. Remember the Guardian report on Garowe.
  2. Prof. Abtigiis is a brilliant debater and gifted writer.
  3. That is how I would do it. This conservative risk averse tendencies of Somaliland is grandmother politics, and grandmother's. Will get you nowhere except for the shop around the corner. Well said Carafaat. Puntland is doing it what SL has failed to do.
  4. XX, I suggest you drop using silly labels. There's no such thing as clan militia vs ciidanka qaranka. Respect people's right to self-determine their own destiny. CALL FOR AN IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE! !

  6. The so called Leaders/elites of northern regions are with fast approach complicit in actions that engender fallout for an otherwise peaceful region. There's no gainsaying that "SL" has carved out a good reputation out of the wreckage and self-imposed destruction of the rest of Somalia. But the worthy of that estimation within the ruling elite took an unexpected turn of events. Gone are the levers of value judgement ; radicals of the secessionist clan took a center age to reawaken old spirits of revenge & animosity. The concept of peace simply vanished into thin air as Hargeisa hastens its last but desperate resort to sheer violence and invasion of peaceful towns & villages. This is further illustrated by the audacity of SL officials to justify the killings of innocent villagers or the indiscriminate attack of peaceful protestors in the name of protecting its unrecognized sovereignty. Is the aggression against the people of Sool considered the right strategy that can abort the Khaatumo vision or dislodge its leaders. If so, Iam afraid for what might result from it. I believe the North is facing a pivotal moment to either live in peace with itself or plunge into the ugly tribal/civil war just like South-Central Somalia. There is still a big room for dialogue and resolution. All in all, To fight over the exploitative designs of the white man is the ultimate product of cultural imperialism. We all must condemn the Buhotle aggression or the Las Anod massacre , for the springs of peace start with the admission of the wrongs committed. Let's learn from what has induced the inferno engulfing southern regions. That's of course the security dilemma society bears in the absence of law & order.
  7. Raamsade, You call Gen. Caydiid a hero? C'mon sister.
  8. ...bully and spew all kinds of scathing condemnations against the people of Somaliland or 'SNM'. Try to isolate them from other Somali's for being diffrent in a negative way. I have to say they are the most ideal kid to bully, they are quit isolated there in the North Haha. What about Sayidist. Is it historic bullying?
  9. Somalina, Weriyahaaga ama sawir-qaadaha goormaa u direysaa Waqooyi iyo Bari. Btw, Nice pics.
  10. ^If I don't get Maakhir, I'll either go with Puntland or Khaatumo state because I am a die-hard unionist.
  11. If you do not understand my simile, then go and see the post Oodweyne did few days ago with “perfidy” as a title. He thinks Somaliland can reject Britain. He thinks Somaliland’s absence from the London conference will strengthen its secession drive. He is of the opinion a fight between SL and UK is a tussle of two giant elephants. Such is the level of delusion that he thinks London is Buuhoodle, or UK is Khaatumo State, or more accurately Djibouti. Few weeks ago, his senile uncle was summoned by Djibouti to be told that SL’s passport is no more accepted in this tiny casino state. And his uncle could do nothing. Instead of taking that as a useful indicator of where power lies and more crucially where it is absent, Oodweyne petitions the SL government not to go to London. This, amid Khaatumo’s triumph, amid Awdal’s resurgence. Great point there.
  12. Official detailed and interactive Sanaag map. It's amazing how "Somaliland" strives to squeeze the region's map to fit its own secessionist agenda. I suggest you peek at this original map the expansive distance from Ceerigaabo to Boosaaso. Use this original map anytime Saalax inserts his separatist map.
  13. Saalax & Xaaji, There has never been a disagreement over who resides in majority of districts. Even your own separatist admin reluctantly acknowledges this fact as one secessionist minister said that Maakhiris constitute 70% in the region. I believe that audio was posted on this forum. The Haylaan & Sanaag regions exercise their political independence to escort any official from TFG, SL or PL provided they don't destabilize the region. We all remember how the former SL defense minister (AUN) was sacked from his position after his well-armed convoys were defeated and overrun. By contrast, Dr. Ga'ameey, Col Aideed, though wear SL uniforms, were received peacefully in Dhahar since they are from Haylaan region. But let's not go that far, so here is a credible source. And it does not include the Laasqoray district. "Area of distribution: the Badhan, Dhahar and Erigavo districts of Sanaag, is primarily resided by the ********** clan. As the ********** are the largest clan in the area (estimated to be 85% of the population in the area), it was deemed critical that any methodology used would ensure equity among the ********** sub-clans themselves and ********** clan vis a vis other clans, based on population size and vulnerability. Therefore, the general village methodology was deemed flawed for the following reasons: Carafaat, It's a strong civil society that commands respect and authority in Somalia. We have local agencies that receive in operational equity estimated to be a half of the alleged "Somaliland" budget. And they wield the mandate from the IC to continue providing public services in the absence of legitimate government in Somalia. The local district councils in Badhan & Laasqoray exericise authority, collect its own taxation revenue and delegate tasks & initiatives to the private sector.
  14. XX, Credit goes to the UNDP programs and the JNA officers from this region. The entire Sanaag, at least 2/3 fall within Maakhir Territory. I ask you to refrain from the use of "eastern" label of the region since your knowledge of the region is quite driven by emotional secessionist perspective.
  15. Nin-Yaaban, Who were they and where did they hold their captives?
  16. They should have been captured & tried. Obliterating 9 human lives for the freedom of two exacerbates the piracy problems on Somali shores.
