  1. Abwaan, I read that book. Overall nice read!
  2. Oodwayne, Have you read Ismail's book, Governance..? It's history repeating itself.
  3. He is one of the few Somali politicians from the 60s era. We should pay attention to his call of warning to the Somali nation.

  5. The explanation I give you here is one which tackles the complacency and precariousness of ‘political neutrality’ in an era of anarchy and naked, expansionist civil conflict. In equal terms, my explanation intends to deplore the negligence of a people in their failure to seek all avenues that gives them the opportunity to lay control over their own affairs and interests, whilst not making the mistake of entrusting their lives to others. When such becomes of a peoples’ political fate, then, their fate becomes similar to that of the Melos Island. Timeless piece!
  6. Let's revisit this beautiful article. Taleexi, Finally our people are paying attention even though the opportunists still pander to the weakest link in the sub-clannish sense & unsustainable, politically motivated material promises.
  7. "And, therefore, another way of putting it, is that, how c yesterday's leaders, in the form of Admiral of the ONL quite content to see his land being handed over to his enemies without a peep from him? And also, at the sam time, how come that a teeming clique of ONLF, are qu content to scream the praise of their tormentor in the of Mr. Iley, one minute, which is when he is sticking to others; and, lo-and-behold, they seemed to scream a b murder the next minute, which is when he is roosting t own sons over the coal of the Tigre's regime, indeed? And, lastly, how come, in love of God, that, the ninnies pirate-land, never saw an occasion, in which they coul give a miss the chance to proclaim their undying love f Khaatumo's delusion; and, at the same time, always, ne missed any opportunity to stab this same Khaatumo's f on the back, in every freaking time, indeed Give credit to Oodwayne this time for the two great questions raised.

Those people back there are looking for to come with new idea's and solutions, not another "kala guur" . Therefor I have always opposed the unilateral secession without the consent of all thhe communities. Atleast it should be a topic for discussion. Saxib, The solution lies not in either multilateral or unilateral secession. We can at least come to terms with federalism as a temporary solution. Our homogenous society can't be locked in voilence and fierce competition and therefore remain stateless indefinately. We can spark new ideas to build the mechanism in which society's resources can best be allocated. There needs to be initiated some efforts to close the distrust gap and to build consensus among us. I don't have my eyes set on the regions of Sool and Sanaag or Hargeisa but on jubooyinka and fertile regions. I hear and respond to the call of duty to keep the nation unified and strong.
  12. Let's also recall how the UN Monitoring Group of Somalia at one time made the link between Sheikh Atam, an arms dealer and ONLF, Buhodle district being the conduit through which arms and ammunitions were smuggled inside Ethiopia. So is this the creation of a new buffer state? If so, the formation of Khaatumo State has a good chance of the war effort to liberate its lands from the secessionists. The fact still remains that Somalis are divided along clan and sub-clannish lines and thus Ethiopia can't rely on one clan, say the secessionists, for its border security and internal stability. My 2 cents.
  13. That's power play right there?? The Somali Regional Administration shows flexibility and independence of policy formulation and execution than either PL and SL wills or does, ma istiraahdeen. Or is this a new game by the Tigre regime?
  14. Carafaat, That is like telling or teaching one who was born in post-anarchic Somalia to disown his mother country or to never believe or invest in Somali unity since he or she has never seen a united and strong Somalia. But thank you once again. Sayidism won't come back to haunt Hargeisa if they come to grasp the value of peace.
  15. If PL elites were genuinely involved in the common interest, they would support the formation of Maakhir regional autonomy with resources and recognition at the federal level. That lost opportunity would have rendered the secessionists weaker by ending the "disputed status" and its hampering burden. But that opportunity is still there if PL might want to extend it to the formation of Khaatumo in Taleex. Help Somalia stand on its feet.
  16. The nightmare scenario dreaded by separatists has begun with the declaration of Awdalstate and the ultimate creation of Khaatumo state of Somalia. More importantly, Somalia is on the mend while the secessionists are on the wane. It is all over for separatists. However, it is not too late to change policy. Somalis are prepared to welcome back their long lost child. I am glad Awdalites are back with vengeance. Long live Somalia!
  17. Well said Taleexi! I was actually reading a field report published by the UNDP on the creation of autonomous Local Governments (LG) as a basis for vertical development and the restoration of legitimate Somali government. You can rightly understand who resisted and even threatened such UNDP efforts with political consequences. But that issue is further complicated by the absent or passive role of the intellectuals and leaders from this region. Both entities use political agents to hoodwink the international community and therefore divide the community along sub-clannish lines. I hope, as the initial formation of Maakhir inspired Khaatumo with ideas so will Khaatumo do if and when the latter succeeds in its noble vision. Somalina, Read the 9th Paragraph, esp the highlighted part. Africa Research Bulletin: Political, Social and Cultural Series. Oxford: Nov 2007. Vol. 44, Iss. 10. As Puntland loses its grip, another area, Maakhir, declares independence.
  18. Taleexi, These pics actually refute the Hobbesian view of Somalia. People look healthy and are enjoying life to the fullest. Osman, There's no difference between Xamar & Boosaaso & hence I see no skeptics.
